Why am I just now seeing this? My high school banned hugging ("prolonged embracing" according to the student handbook) years ago. At first, it was just hugging between opposite sexes. Then, a handful of girls got mad because they couldn't hug their boyfriends, but the lesbian students could hug their girlfriends. After that, there was a blanket ban on hugging for everyone, but students got pissed because there were a couple of instances where two students would be hugging and faculty would break them apart before realizing one was crying or otherwise upset and the other was comforting that person. So students started protesting that it's not fair that they can't be allowed to comfort a friend because they'll be mistaken for homosexuals in a "prolonged embrace." I don't remember what the final rule ended up being when I graduated--it was amended so many times I lost track. |
Did anyone hear about this?
http://www.myfoxphilly.com/myfox/pag...Y&pageId=3.2.1
I heard about this on the radio and they played a sound bite from one of the victim's relatives, in which she said that the girl had to have 64 stitches to sew her nose back on her face, another 20 stitches under her nose, 30+ stitches for a gash in her face and the back of her head had to be stapled together. It was also reported that the mother of one of the students who participated in the attack actually drove the group of girls to the school to attack the victim. |
What in the hell??!!!

I understand why the school has policies against kids making out at school and on the bus. I think expulsion is extreme. |
B]More Questions re the mom who went on her "African adventure":[/B]
1. Don't passports take a LONG time these days to get? (If so, then she was planning this hot mess all along!) 2. If she could afford a trip to Africa, why couldn't she afford to buy a bus ticket for her sister AND made sure the sister got to Houston to take care of everyone? 3. My sister lives in Houston and told me that the lady lives in a very nice house in a very nice neighborhood. How is she affording that with NO job? 4. Where is the man she went to marry? Why couldn't he come to the US to marry her? 5. She was gone for an entire month!! Once again, if she could afford to go to Africa, why couldn't she have made sure that there was enough food and that the utilities were paid up? It makes me SICK that this lady who has no job, on welfare (my sister also told me that she left a food stamp card for the kids but it had a ZERO balance!), living in an expensive house (albeit nasty), and 8 kids (2 older ones are currently in jail) and can afford to go to Africa (with a layover in Paris no less!) when Hubby and I have jobs and 1.75 kids and we can't afford to even THINK about going to Orlando (2 hours from Jax) much less anywhere overseas!! She even had Internet access in her house to go online to meet the guy!! Once again, where was the money to pay for all of that if she had no job!! It just makes me sick! |

this is how I read it Impregnating results in a child, and therefore verifiable evidence that an attack took place. |
whew...that is some mess.

Being a 10/11 year old and getting molested is horrible enough but getting pregnant on top of that is even worse. And so the prosecution is charging him for the end result and I don't blame them. He put her in the position to get pregnant. |
^^^
So yet again, we have another story of a mom who gave her love life priority over her child's safety and well-being. The link didn't work, but I went to the site and read some related articles. The mom was ordered by the local social service office to not have this man or any other males in her house and she did anyway. When I moved to FL, I worked in protective services. It burned me up to see women discount/dismiss their children's needs to attend to the needs of the boyfriend. I've had numerous cases where I told mothers that the boyfriend had to go or else the children would be removed. 9 times out of 10, I had to find foster homes because mom was so much in "love'. It's sad and appalling. Now a child's life is devastated because mom was looking out for herself. |

Court tackles case of girl, 11, impregnated by mom's boyfriend
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articl...om0131-ON.html "Michael Chaffer, 40, is accused of impregnating his girlfriend's then 10-year-old daughter, according to Hamilton County prosecutors. While waiting for the hearing to start, the child, who was wearing faded jeans and a T-shirt with her hair tied into a ponytail, sat next to her mother. She chatted about school, music and Disney video games. As prosecutors and attorneys discussed the case and the possibility that the 11-year-old could lose her baby, she wiped away tears with the palms of her hands." |

It won't last.
It lasted in secrecy but now that it's found out, if it truly exists, it will last slightly longer than the Edmonds-Murphy nonlegal union. He's struggling for money and fame. This is an attempt to get a "Strange Love" VH1 show. It worked for the Brady dude, Scott Baio and Flava Flav. |
I can't get over her saying that she didn't watch Different Strokes. She probably wasn't even BORN when it was on the air!! TV Land/Nick at Nite reruns, maybe...but that chick is 22 trying to hook up with Gary's broke tail.
I agree with Soror Chaos. They must be going for a VH1 show. |
You peep what she said about the violence?

"He throws things around, and sometimes he throws it in my direction."
It would only take one time for that little broke man to throw something in my direction or at me. |

WTHIRGO???
My manfriend just told me he has to go to court tomorrow. I'm like, FOR WHAT??? He said a month or so ago a dude tried to set this girl's hair on fire and he had to write it up so he got subpoenaed to testify. Is it THAT deep? You tried to set her HAIR on fire? This is why when his co-workers told me there was an opening for a Spanish teacher there, I knew I could not teach there. Yeah, the schools I've taught at were inner-city schools, but his school is just HOOD.
He said her hair didn't catch, but it still smelled like burnt hair. So some of it must have caught. I have to giggle a little that all black folk know what burnt hair smells like, lol. Something is WRONG with these kids. :( |
:(I praise God that my brother was normal and didn't react like this every time I didn't give him what he wanted. We need to teach our kids better ways to solve their problems.:(
Police: 10-year-old shot sister in face after potato chip fight DILLON, S.C. --Authorities say a 10-year-old boy shot his younger sister in the face after she refused to give him a bag of potato chips. Dillon County Chief Deputy Douglas Pernell says the children were home alone when they started arguing Tuesday afternoon. Investigators say after his 9-year-old sister refused to hand over the chips, the boy got his father's shotgun, loaded a shell, pointed the gun at his sister and fired. Authorities say the girl was wounded in her right cheek, but is expected to survive. Deputies say they have asked the Department of Juvenile Justice to charge the boy with assault and battery with intent to kill. His name was not released. |
