Gosh darnit STOP standing behind my cubicle silently for seconds at a time before I see your reflection in my screen and I freak the f out!

AlethiaSi 07-25-2007 03:21 PM

The office supervisor does that to me all the time. I have to reconfigure my cubicle b/c I HATE people sneaking up on me like that.

I am so ready for the weekend. :)

Faith4Keep 07-26-2007 08:47 AM

I've been trying to figure out how to reconfigure my cubicle to prevent that but no matter what people can sneak up.

OneTimeSBX 07-26-2007 09:00 AM

*sigh, i wish i had a cubicle.

please stop talking to me. im not putting my egg mcmuffin down to talk to you.

I was once a cubicle rat in a call center. Sneaking up behind was the least of my worries. It was especially creepy to learn that the supervisor was jacked in, listening to my calls...after the fact.

There are a couple of things I would like to say but can't:

* Either stop talking to me and let me work or don't bitch when I don't clock out early because you wanted to chit chat. Ain't my fault you won't go away.

* I saw this on a little plaque thingy and I want it: Please do not move the things on my desk. You will confuse me and screw up my whole world.

Jody 07-28-2007 06:43 PM

It's okay that you brought your relative in for your appointment. I'm sure that he contributed to the conversation.

BUT, as he still has some physical limitations as a result of his recent stroke, if there's an accident, the LEAST you could do is ASSIST in the clean up.

Staying in the office while the clean up was going on is not a cool look:mad:

virgo921 07-30-2007 10:32 AM

I really DONT care how your weekend was. It's just the polite thing to say on a Monday. So, keep it short and keep it moving.

AlphaFrog 07-30-2007 11:02 AM

I know how to set up a G-D invoice...I just need the price you want to charge, since you're such a control freak about that, and anytime I work up a price, you have to change it somehow.

aephi alum 08-07-2007 08:22 PM

Hey boss -

It's bad enough that you walk around the office singing off-key. And I know you have a little girl. But really - the Barney the Purple Dinosaur theme song sounds bad enough when it's in key.

sageofages 08-07-2007 09:03 PM

If you hate your job so much, and you think they are so "not very nice" why don't you quit? I am sick and tired of your petulant attitude and frosty icey glares....I can deal with your silent treatment because I took 4 unanticipated day off TO DEAL WITH MY SISTER WHO WAS DIAGNOSIS WITH PANCREATIC CANCER and poor you were left to answer the phone yourself. Trust me wench, I can be *silent* longer than you can.

Gawd you annoy the crap out of me.

SWTXBelle 08-08-2007 07:20 AM

aephia alum - I think that constitutes some sort of harassment.

AlethiaSi 08-08-2007 10:07 AM

why does the sickeningly sweet voice, niceness bother me so much?! I'm cranky and i'm verging on irrate... leave me the hell alone.

ForeverRoses 08-09-2007 03:36 PM

I love that my boss is just as sarcastic as I am.

It makes the day go so much faster when I know I have someone to vent to who will completely understand and will probably join in without holding any of it against me.

GeekyPenguin 08-09-2007 07:15 PM

Hey boss,

It might have been nice if when the entire staff voted that they did not want to have an intern for the summer, you would have told me that you did not want to have an intern instead of bringing me on early.

Now I'm thinking about quitting early in the middle of a murder trial, you smarmy jellyfish.

Very truly yours,
GP

sageofages 08-09-2007 08:43 PM

What is that? What do I hear? You are talking to me after 8 work days of the silent treatment....to ask me if you can borrow my PERSONAL software to make YOUR job easier? And knock me over, because it is for a MAC you have the NERVE to ask me if I will do the edits AT HOME ON MY OWN TIME to make your job easier....

well don't you just have a HUGE pair for that...and you being female and all.

Watch me laugh in your general direction!

:(GP--can oh so relate. When I arrived for an internship, one I interviewed for and had to submit paperwork with the site approving it, I get there the first day my alleged supervisor is having a meltdown because she was dumped by her boyfriend. The rest of the staff humored her, comforted her. She asked me to come back in a few weeks, so she could deal with issues. Stupid me, I did, rather than run from that nuthouse, passing up what could have been a saner place. Nothing got better. Good luck.

Jody 08-09-2007 09:06 PM

ewwwww, someone pooted :o

AlphaFrog 08-20-2007 09:47 AM

Are you TRYING to make me quit? SRSLY.

DaemonSeid 08-20-2007 11:16 AM

I wanna know how you manage to never be on time from work....miss 2 and three days a week...go on vacation and then your first day back, you call in 'sick'.

Yet you have only been here a year and a 1/2.

I know you got kids and grand kinds but who in here doesn't?

Well me...

Yet, I am here at 7 30 religiously. I rarely miss anydays, but the one day I had to leave early cuz somehow my house alarm went off, the next day I got pulled for it.....

I am going to start a pool...a dollar per person per week....and the week you manage to come in on time everyday for a week, winner collects the pot.

The snowball in hell has the better chance here...

AlphaFrog 08-20-2007 11:41 AM

DS - do you work with my coworker?;)

lovelyivy84 08-20-2007 12:02 PM

If it is that bad, if you hate it THAT much then leave. Quit bitchin and be OUT because I am beyond tired of hearing about it. After 2 years of complaining it really doesn't make you look noble or self-sacrifing, it just makes you look dumb. Hell look at me, I left and after two weeks of looking found a gig I LVOE making 50% more. It isn't because of where I went to college, it's because I KNEW I deserved far better than I was getting.

maybe not but they may be related.....

and I forgot to add in...stop your bitching and whining about how the work here is so hard and difficult and long and complex....

You are the kind of woman who would tell a thirsty man there's dirt in his water....

justabeachbrat 08-20-2007 01:06 PM

You really shouldn't write memos. Not only can't you spell (hmmm spell check), you contradict yourself to the point it is funny.

SoCalGirl 08-21-2007 01:23 AM

Wes - stop making personal calls and checking out CraigsList. You're at work, not at home. Also, quit with your stupid FAKE accent.

Kyleigh - speak when spoken to! Maybe you're lonely. It'd be because you're annoying. Go take your meds or something.

Alex - get off the phone! At least your on your cell phone/ear piece. Your mumbling annnoys me.

Eric - quit emailing everyone and their mama and quit watching streaming video.

Jessica - quit bitching about everyone else. I agree completely but you don't need to become like them!

To my supe - start time is 8am. Not some time between 8:05 and 8:30. How did you get promoted exactly?

nikki1920 08-21-2007 08:26 AM

Isnt it funny how the same people can take extra days off, and nothing gets said, but I come in 20 minutes late, stay three HOURS after my scheduled leave time (b/c we are short people and I am a team player  ) and I get called for it? SERIOUSLY???!!

And YEAH to the lady who left here for another job and told you about your not-so-secret favortism.

CutiePie2000 08-24-2007 11:13 PM

Even though both of you are married to other people and you make a point of returning from lunch/coffee 3 minutes apart, everyone in the office knows what the two of you are up to.

aephi alum 08-28-2007 09:04 PM

Look, asshat. You can't just assign trouble tickets to me and forget about them. Yesterday, I was IN COURT. ALL FREAKING DAY. Did it NEVER occur to you that if you assign a ticket to me at 9:30am and I haven't actioned it by 3:30pm, maybe I'm NOT IN THE OFFICE??!

(Seriously. I was ready to rip this guy's head off and use it for a chamberpot.)

Scandia 08-28-2007 09:47 PM

- Fix up the bathrooms already.
- Do not mess up the schedule or program descriptions.
- If we need to shelve, let us wear comfortable shoes and socks. I'm not even asking for jeans- not that I like them all that much anyway. Just footwear that will allow us to walk comfortably.
- PLEASE limit the internet usage for all patrons.
- PLEASE remind patrons that we are a LIBRARY, and NOT a one-stop social services center or shelter.
- Make sure the internet does not go down ever again.
- Put the water back in already.

We are here to help people. But they have to want to help themselves. To better themselves.

cheerfulgreek 08-29-2007 12:09 PM

Wow! You look just like your dog.

DaemonSeid 09-05-2007 09:47 AM

please put your wig back on....

tnxbutterfly 09-05-2007 08:48 PM

You know you lied to me. You know it and I know it. You're just mad because I won't finish the training. You know good and well that's not the amount we settled on when I took this job. I don't know what you were smoking when you did my check. And you thought a cute little :) face would keep me from going off. Keep messing with me. I left you once. Don't think I won't do it again

nikki1920 09-06-2007 09:08 AM

I'mma need you to grow some ovaries and start being a manager in here. Your entire staff thinks you are a JOKE.

OneTimeSBX 09-06-2007 09:17 AM

keep it up. i will go home and take my ring of keys with me. and you KNOW i have the only copies of the ones that go to half the building. dont make me take a drive down to the river and chuck them in...

skylark 09-06-2007 09:59 AM

"Stop looking at my computer screen every other minute. Yes, I'm on that "stupid" forum website again... Don't you think it takes more effort for you to constantly be trying to figure out if I'm working than it takes for me to take a 5 minute break from my work every hour or two?"

aephi alum 09-06-2007 07:47 PM

You have some balls, rolling in to the office at lunchtime on a daily basis. Our boss has called you on it. HIS boss has called you on it. Did you maybe forget it's employee review season???

AOIIBrandi 09-07-2007 09:43 AM

You're a temp, you don't get paid if you don't work. I'm sorry (maybe not) you didn't get paid for a day this week - you were scheduled to work (for double time I might add). You were the one who called me and asked to go home, then you lied to me when I asked what the customer contract said about coverage for the day. Well we both know you lied to me, and so does upper management, so that e-mail you sent trying to throw me under the bus isn't going to work out so well for you in the end.

nikki1920 09-07-2007 02:37 PM

Unlike some of you, I have a job. A demanding one. If you walk in here unannounced and without an appointment, do not get an attitude because you have to wait over an hour to be seen. That is what appointments are for.:mad: I have 500 people to deal with so sitcho arse down and STFU and quit complaining.......

Is 30 too young to be burned out?

sageofages 09-07-2007 04:37 PM

Right, after I have MENTALLY quit, NOW you start giving me interesting sorts of things to do...........

I am still leaving...just have to plot the right time. Damn it, I know I will back next week...but maybe then...you will push me over the edge.

SWTXBelle 09-08-2007 09:17 AM

You are a sneaky, ego-obsessed bastard - I don't care how much money you have. I am just waiting for the opportunity to put you in your place, and don't think I won't. I'm just glad I no longer have to pretend you are my intellectual equal.
