I loved last Thursday's storyline about the retired doctor...kinda like "my job here is done...and now my story ends."

I think these episodes just keep getting better and better, what a way to go out :)

Just yesterday it was revealed that George Clooney would be appearing in the finale season of the hit medical drama "ER." Now, "The Insider" has breaking news on another "ER" alum, Julianna Margulies!


A rep for Julianna confirmed to "The Insider" that the actress would also be on the show's final season.

The final episode of "ER" will air Thursday night, April 2 now that NBC has extended the season's run by three extra episodes. A one-hour clip show retrospective will run just before the final episode airs.

I read online somewhere, a picture was shown of George doing his filming and he was wearing a wedding band. So the "guess" is that Doug and Carol married. Woo Hoo. Too bad it couldn't have happened on screen since I loved those characters together, hey they're still together. me happy. LOL.

I read this too maybe a week or two ago. As psyched as I am, I almost wish that we didn't get these spoilers or news stories. Remember when Carol went out to meet Doug...no one knew that Clooney was going to appear. I remember crying, laughing, cheering. Some of that is lost now that we know people are coming back. But as a fan since episode #1, I am beyond thrilled that the writers are choosing to close up the loose ends and that the actors signed on to appear! Get ready for the tears!!

I totally did the same thing! At first I was like "oh its someone who looks like him", but when I realized it was him I shrieked and started crying. LOL.

I am so embarrassed! I read this and burst out in tears of joy!

I remember being shocked, then the tears started flowing after he turned around on the pier. I too wish there weren't so many spoilers out there, because it seems that no matter how hard you try to avoid them - you can't.

Wow, Carter looks OLD! I wonder if he is lying about Kem though. Why wouldn't she be with him in Chicago while he is having dialysis treatments? Didn't Kem's mother die way back when? I know she was sick, and he rushed off to be with her in Paris.

Damn, Morris can't catch a break when it comes to the ladies. Not liking the previews one bit! Took me awhile to realize her boss was Steve from "Sex and the City." What an ass!

Anyone else think Noah Wyle's eyebrows look weird?

Is Dr. Carter really getting dialysis? I know when I had to go to an infusion center, you'd be next to people with renal disease, cancer, leukemia, AIDS - and I felt kinda weird about being there just for the rabies series. Was something said that it was kidney?

And yes, I was sure that, when Kem's mother was ill in Paris, didn't she go off with her ex-boyfriend? I thought for sure she & John were finis.

At first, I thought he looked old. Then I realized he was looking sick. I'm just glad he'll be around for a few more weeks.

I am so going to miss this show....

That sure looked like a dialisis machine he was hooked up to at the end. Can one get kidney failure from AIDS? He has been working in Africa, after all. Obviously something is awry with his relationship with Kem, because he got visually upset when Neela mentioned her toward the end of the episode. I don't remember if she went back with him to Africa, but if so, perhaps she died of AIDS?

I hope they don't kill Neela off. I can only handle so many of the doctors dying AT the hospital!

He didn't lost his kidney after the stabbing. Drs. Benton and Anspaugh were able to save it. I can recall the angst (ooohhhh, big word!) of Benton during the surgery, and Anspaugh calming him. I wonder if you are on to something PeppyGPhiB. Who is to say that Kem is still alive. If her mother did pass away and was buried in Paris, that could explain the comment about Kem being with her mother in Paris.

I would hazard a guess that something happened to his kidneys while he was in Africa.

I don't think that was Neela shot in the previews, that was Archie's new girlfriend.

Do you think TPTB could try not to kill off or seriously injure a fan favorite again on this show?

I was assuming chemotherapy but I've never seen a dialysis set up before.

If you looked closely, you could see the "blood" in the tubing going to his arm. Many chemo treatments go through a port inserted in the patient's chest.

Yeah, I was basing it on my friend's chemo, which went in through his arm.

How can you tell that it wasn't Neela getting shot? Just the visual in my head...it really upset me! (I am so lame)

This is going to sound lame, but I rewound the previews and watched them frame by frame. While I can't say for sure it is Archie's new gf (whose name I can't seem to remember), it looked like her in the still shots I saw.

Yeah, I'm almost positive it's Archie's girlfriend, too... My guess as to why, is because the other detective caught on that she snitched about the interrogation incident.

On a side note, I'm glad Carter's back "indefinitely"!

Carter was always my favorite but I'm sad to see him on dialysis :( I wish Kem would come back too, I always liked her.

After Kem dumping Dr. Carter in Paris, I'm not in a big hurry to see her again.

Yeah, Dr. Carter's health status was the only thing it tied up. However I think Dr. Banfield is starting to look at him in a different light...know that she knows he's suffered a tragic blow in that ER himself as well.

I just got caught up on the last two episodes, so I'm going to comment on them.

2/19/09- I LOVED the part where Gates said to Carter "are you the guy who got a nurse pregnant and then moved to Seattle". I cracked up. That was a nice little "hint" about Dr. Ross, especially since we know that Doug and Carol will be back.

2/26/09- As much as I hate that Carter is on dialysis, I think it is kind of cool that they went back to his stabbing and Lucy's murder.

Once I saw Carter on dialysis I figured he would be the "way" for people to come back (since they killed off Green). I'm really excited to see Benton. He was pretty cool. I'm so psyched to see Doug and Carol again (especially when George Clooney was caught in a picture, wearing the scrubs, with a wedding band on. Woo Hoo. Too bad the wedding did take place on camera).

Maybe, just maybe, someone will show the video? It would be so cool, to see a video of tv characters! I want to see the twins, but I'm not holding my breath.

How old would Kate and Tess be now? OMG I'm totally blanking on the year. I remember it was Thanksgiving though. LOL.

Gilmore Girl Alexis Bledel will appear on the 2hr finale in April! I'm SO excited. According to People.com she will be playing a new intern.

What if they do the transplant at County (not sure if they are fictitiosly UNOS approved, but they did try to transplant that mom's heart).

Maybe it's just me but why would you introduce a new character in a series finale. Its not like anyone is going to "care" about this character considering once the finale is over we will never see her character agian. Not sure I understand the logic.

So that the whole series can come full circle...

Yes. The staff whispers about the "rich kid" with the perfect doctor's clothing, he is observing a procedure (I think), and throws up. In the old & good intro, that was him sitting outside, with the stephascope at his head, just before Dr. Green tells him that everyone gets sick at first.

Okay, did I see Neela falling in the "upcoming attractions"? Or was that Archie's latest?

They didn't say why the reunion is happening next Thursday (12 March), but there were cameos of several of the oldies but goodies being happy to be coming back in the "outro".

I was just a bit scared that we had seen the last of Dr. Carter, but he'll be back (maybe they're coming back to donate a kidney?). John also confirmed that he & Kem are no longer an item.
