I can't remember how many times I've updated my shows on this thread, but here are some more that I'm going to soon... Atmosphere Hold Steady Noah and the Whale Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos but I've seen all these folks already, although, some of them were at Lollapalooza and so it'll be nice seeing them at a more traditional venue. |
Oh, and to the lucky MF's who get to go to Austin City Limits Festival this weekend, I hate you. I am so jealous.
Go see What Made Milwaukee Famous. Go. Go now. And it should be very cool to see them in their hometown. Anyone have plans for SxSW? |
I just got home from...
Eric Benet:D(sigh) Dwele (@The House Of Blues) LOVED IT |
updates
Let's see...I've been to quite a few concerts, some I wish I had missed.
Neil Young and Crazyhorse (very first concert ever...it sucked, but I was 12) The Pointer Sisters Rod Stewart Milli Vanilli (so humiliating to admit this) and Young MC New Kids on the Block (2 times) The Cranberries (3 or 4 times) Toad the Wet Sprocket Counting Crows Live (2 times) Madonna (2 times) Depeche Mode (2 times) U2 Republica 3-11 (4 times - awesome in concert) Bush The Wallflowers Cake Orbital The Cure (Robert Smith was old and fat, kind of sad) Duran Duran (SWEET!) Bow Wow Wow The Psychadelic Furs Peter Murphy Violent Femmes Beck Smashing Pumpkins (before they broke up) Garbage (3 times) Dashboard Confessional Fountains of Wayne Soft Cell Interpol (AWESOME!) Echo and the Bunnymen Hot Hot Heat (2 times) Fishbone Deep Blue Something (free concert at CSULB) Dramarama Jet Presidents of the United States of America Eels Siouxsie and the Banshees Linkin Park (5 times, once with Jay-Z - that was f-in awesome) No Doubt Alanis Morissette Everclear Staind Static-x Deadsy (horrible!!!) STP (before they broke up, but after Weiland layed off the sauce) POD Hoobastank Jurassic 5 I'm sure there are more bands, I just can't think of them right now. ETA: Pink Floyd (How could I forget the PF?) Veruca Salt Goldfinger Marky Mark + FB New Found Glory Blindside Time for an update! On the 27th I'm going to a radio sponsored concert with: Billy Idol! (YES! He's my reason for going) Devo - The husband says they are good, I'm reserving judgement. Blondie Psychadelic Furs (again) Twister Sister (meh) And....wait for it, wait for it.... REO Speedwagon. Sweet. Updates: Billy Idol was kick ass. He started off White Wedding acoustically...it was AWESOME. Devo - Ok, so the husband and I thought they were not as good as they used to be. Blondie - she was good, getting older though. Psychadelic Furs - Were good, sound pretty much the same as always Twister Sister - Was really good actually...Dee Snyder is funny as hell and had a great personality on stage. REO Speedwagon - were really good for a group that made it big in 1973, they were rockin it. And special guest was: War - that's right...they did Lowrider, Cisco kid and Why can't we be friends to open up the concert. And, I just got tickets to see Coldplay! YAY! I'm so excited! Has anyone seen them before? Are they as good as I hear they are? |
Tomorrow (10/14) Mary J. Blige and Robin Thicke (Yay)
10/18 (Saturday) Maxwell & Jazmine Sullivan (Yay!) |
Quote:
Maxwell - HE'S BACK and was worth every penny! After 2 encores the crowd didn't want to leave!! (Jazmine Sullivan - Has a very strong voice, and a decent set. I didn't know any of the songs other than "Need U Bad" I felt she should have been on tour with multiple artists. I found myself wishing she would hurry up and get off the stage so Maxwell could come on) |
Concerts in 2008
Here are the shows I've seen so far in 2008:
|
^^that's quite impressive
|
I saw James Otto last week.

Matchbox 20 (with Paula Cole as opening act) NSync (with Jordan Knight as opening act) Backstreet Boys Linkin Park (Projekt Revolution tour...AWESOME!!!) My Chemical Romance (Projekt Revolution tour...AWESOME!!!) Trans-Siberian Orchestra Wish I had money to see many others :( |
I saw Jason Mraz last night in Boston. I've been to a good amount of concerts in my life, and that was seriously the best one I've ever been too. Absolutly amazing performer, if any ofyou get a chance to see him, do it.
|
jenny - I love Jason Mraz and would love to see him!! I'll have to keep my eyes open for it.
I'm going to a music festival this weekend where Broken Social Scene and Explosions in the Sky are playing, should be fun. |
I saw rascal flatts a few weeks ago it was amazing, one of the best summer concerts I have been too.
Flight of the Conchords is still my favorite show I have been too though. |
Can now add:
- Britney Spears/Pussycat Dolls - Kenny Chesney/Lady Antebellum/Miranda Lambert (for third time) - Kenny Chesney (I was at the rained out Dallas show and he came back for free two weeks later) - No Doubt/Paramore - Coldplay/Snow Patrol - Cross Canadian Ragweed (whom I have seen a million times) - Jason Aldean (again)/Keith Urban |

The most recent concert I went to was The Bamboozle in NJ and Bamboozle Left in Calif. for work (April and May). Got to see a bunch of good up-and-coming bands AND No Doubt and some other big names. I think those concerts could break the record for the highest number of Chuck Taylors in one place. |
For all my life i only saw Chemical Btrothers and Apollo 440 once
|
Saw Stevie Wonder in June and saw Maxwell and Mary Mary last week.
I also saw Who's Bad twice: last year and two weeks ago. They are an MJ cover band and it's going to be the cloest thing to the King of Pop. :( |
Quote:
Celine Dion (favorite singer since I was little, and my b/f got me tickets for Christmas!) Paramore No Doubt |

2009 was a slower year than '08
2010 has been slower still, but the cool thing was the last two shows I saw were two sold out shows on the same night, and I made both! Think I'm going to go see Dan Deacon tonight at Cake Shop (hopefully) and seeing Niia on Sat and Brahms/Class Actress on Monday too
Oh, and not that this is entirely relevant here, but i met Joe Jonas the other day (link) |
Backstreet Boys...twice...in like '00-'01
LOL |
I can't remember all the dates, but I have seen:
Billy Tallent Vanessa Carlton Blue October Three Dog Night Reik The Veronicas Story of the Year Atreyu Seether Sick Puppies Halifax The Audition PlayRadioPlay! Calor Urbano The Wreckers Dallas Symphony Orchestra (many, many times) Pitbull (in a month or so) I really want to see: Jason Mraz Enrique Iglesias John Mayer Shakira Julieta Venegas Belinda Belanova |
I saw Brandy in concert. Back when "The Boy is Mine" was hot.
Oh, and I saw Israel and New Breed, a gospel group while I was in college. |
Last weekend at the Forecastle Festival in Louisville, I got to interview a ton of bands and it was awesome...I got to sit down and talk with Mark from Devo, Wayne from Flaming Lips, John from Widespread Panic, Ben from Lucero, the guys from Cake, Modern English, Civil Twilight, Sara Watkins (from Nickel Creek), Against Me, Scott Miller, Joe Purdy and about 22 more bands...it was awesome. If you can ever make it to Forecastle...it's a festival worth going to. Smaller crowds but bigger acts mean you can actually see a lot of music with a decent spot
