For those who are fans of Kirk Franklin, his new CD HERO is out. I saw it after church today at Best Buy for $14.99 but I went on Media Play's site an hour ago where they had listed for $9.99. I went to the store and got it for $8.99. :D

Vanessa Bell Armstrong came to my church today and TOWE it up.

I like it as well but not loving it like I have all of his other CDs in the past. My faves so far are Looking For You, Brokenhearted with Marvin L Winans, Keep Your Head, and Could've Been.

I was amped to see that Jason Champion (Cleveland talent, used to be 1/2 of Men at Large) sings with him now.

unknown2u 10-10-2005 10:43 AM

^^^ "I'm So Alone" was my soooong. (in reference to Jason Champion)

Yeah this is a new group he is with, definitely not 1NC. I think this was a temp group for this project. All the songs you mentioned are songs that I like too.

Where is God's Property???

The God's Property CD is still my fave of his. Those were some of his best songs ever. Love and Sweet Spirit were 2 of my absolute faves.

I KNOW! And, I love at the end when she starts just listening who all she wants to be blessed. Brings tears to my eyes!

I like the ENTIRE cd!:) But the songs I listed really help during those times when I'm feeling a little discouraged.

Does anyone know if Yolanda Adams has a live cd?

Anyone have music by Rizen? Can you make any recommendations as to which cd I should get?

CrimsonTide4 01-14-2007 04:48 PM

Any good recommendations for the late 06/2007?

Still BLUTANG 01-14-2007 05:40 PM

Oh boy. I don't even know where to start.

Fred Hammond - Free to Worship
Deitrick Haddon - 7 Days (Depends on your mindset on Gospel Music)
Bishop Paul S. Morton - Still Standing
Kelly Price - This Is Who I Am
Karen Clark-Sheard - It's Not Over
Tye Tribbett & G.A. - Victory LIVE!
Youthful Praise - Live the Worship, the Praise
Donald Lawrence & Tri-City Singers - Finale Act I (Not a HUGE fan of Act II)

I could go on and on but I'll stop there.

CrimsonTide4 01-24-2007 11:30 AM

who sings:

how much we can beaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar

Celebration of Gospel

Kelly Price sang a song during the tribute to Gerald Levert. The name of the song is I Give You Praise. Does anyone know who the original is sung by?

My church choir will open up for him during the Kappa Conclave in Minnesota this summer. I'm excited!

My Gospel Favs

I'm currently listening to:

Wilmington Chester Mass Choir -- God Is In Control

Chicago Mass Choir -- Live in Atlanta

Fred Hammond -- Free to Worship

Tye Tribett & GA -- Victory Live

Since I live in Minnesota, we don't have a gospel radio station and want to know of other gospel artists with new albums. Who are y'all listening to?

Lyoness 05-09-2007 01:29 PM

Right now I'm living off of:

Yolanda Adams: Day by Day (Show Me); Mountain High, Valley Low
The Gospel Soundtrack

Does anyone know about a new young artist named Onitsha? She's on Hidden Beach. (Jill Scott's label)

I saw Coko on TBN and was so happy to see her still doing her thing but now for the Lord. I need to check this one out. I forgot to mention I like Anthony Hamilton's song "Pass Me Over" from his album "Ain't Nobody Worryin' "; John Legend's song "Show Me" from his album "Once Again" It seems to me some secular artists do add some gospel gems in the line-up.

crimsondanger10 05-10-2007 10:11 AM

Anybody heard Kim Burrell's version of Thank You (Walter Hawkins)??
She turned it into a solo, and that girl saaaannnging!!!!

Proverbs31 05-10-2007 11:01 AM

I'm listening to Hezekiah Walkers most recent CD. I LOVE the song "Grateful", and the whole album in general.

The website soundpedia.com lets you pick any album or song and create a playlist for free. Much better than Yahoo! launch radio.

"Grateful" is a fantastic song!! I use Imeem and have not used Launch since February as a result.

delph998 05-10-2007 07:49 PM

Grateful - yes, that's my jam! And when Dave Hollister takes it, I just wanna shout. "He put food on my table, God knows I'm grateful."

CrimsonTide4 07-09-2007 07:00 PM

I thought it was Kurt Carr who sings this song but I can't find it. The song says: I'm still standing la la la I'm still standing more las, colon cancer testimony and then goes in to the traditional version of Standing on the Promises.

Who sings it? And what is the real title?:)

It's Bishop Paul Morton and I think it's called I'm still standing.

LOL I'm sorry I had to laugh at this description.

*leaves thread laughing*

CrimsonTide4 07-11-2007 08:36 AM

I heard the song this morning and now know why I thought it was Kurt Carr's song -- Bishop Morton says his name at one point before he mentions how he got double for his trouble.

UrbanizdSkillz 07-11-2007 08:38 AM

And I laugh everytime it gets to that part because of the way he says Kurt Carr. It's still a great song though.
