I don't know....I think everyone's taking the Pistons too lightly, and they may come to surprise everyone and win the series.

Either way, it was great to see the Pistons win last night, and I'll continue to root for them this entire series! :p

I'm hoping they can pull it off tomorrow night.

Lakers

Let's see if the rest of this team will show up. Karl Malone and Gary Payton, you cannot ride Kobester and Shaq to a title.

And Shaq was the only one who showed up. Fact is, the Wallaces can't do s*** against the Diesel, but the rest of the team was way off its game.

Shaq and Kobe-meister combined for 59 points and the rest of the lakers bench scored 16 points while Hamilton, R.Wallace, B.Wallace, and Billups combined for 57 and the rest of the pistons bench scored 30 points. The Lakers realized they can't take Detroit too lightly now.

No one in the league can do anything against Shaq. He got his points (and should have gotten the ball more) because the pistons never really double teamed him or Kobe for the matter. The Lakers haven't seen that too often this year:D

Round Two Tonight on ABC.

polarpi 06-09-2004 12:07 AM

If the Pistons lose tonight, they have no one to blame but themselves....they had the game in hand before the last minute of regulation :p

mmcat 06-09-2004 07:57 AM

they did it and they earned it. who blows that kind of lead and then just stops in the overtime.
detroit could have done somehing extraordinary, but no...

Thrillhouse 06-09-2004 08:29 AM

SO CLOSE!!!

Oh well, the pistons played their hearts out except in OT, its about time the lakers got their heads out of their you know wheres:D I thought the lakers would come out on fire and whip the pistons in game two and that didn't happen so maybe Detroit can continue to make this interesting.

On Game 2

I don't care how the Lakers get a win, there's a win. But I'm not completely satisfied. Karl's injury and GP's disappearance worry me.
It was nice to see Lucas Walton handling business, primarily through pounding the ball into bro: diesel.
And I'm still sort of tripping that Ree-shahd Hamilton didn't foul Kobester on what became the game-tying shot. The talking heads, however, were wondering why Larry Brown didn't call for his guys to foul the Daddy.

If by "The Talking Heads" you mean the commentators, I really see NO NEED for any commentary on any game. Nothing that they say adds anything to the game in any shape or form, and sometimes they just come off as sounding completely stupid or they just state the obvious. :p

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread :D

Al Michaels and "Doc" Rivers are getting paid : Bottom Line. I don't really paid attention to them.

Detroit should have won it. now, it's game three in Motown.

The talking heads, LOL, are the ESPN analyst dudes such as Greg Anthony and Tim Legler. I don't mind Al Michaels or Doc Rivers, but it would be interesting to watch a NBA game w/o commentary one of these days.

Now, see, I don't like ANY of the commentators. I really don't like Bill Walton, Doug Collins (any of the TNT commentators), Al Michaels, Marv Albert, etc, etc....I can do my own commentary, thank you very much! :D :p

Exactly, most of the time they are just backround noise to me.

sigtau305 06-11-2004 10:30 AM

Okay,

Last night , the Pistons won 88-68 over the lakers at the Palace.

Detroit play some great defense holding Shaq and Co. to 68 points, which the lowest in their team history.

Lakers looked really frustrated last night.

I can't wait until Sunday's game. The Pistons keep this up, there won't be any need for them to return to LA to win the championship

The Pistons would be the first Team to win all three Middle Games ( 3, 4, 5). hopefully, the momentum will continue for them.

I have been checking the N.L. Standings. Padres looking good. I might flip the channel to see how the Indians are doing against the Mets while watching Detroit beating up the Lakers.

Of course they're looking good....they're the Padres :D (I would use their shortened nickname on here, but people may *misread it* ;) :p)

Although I am a little mad at the manager for putting our closer into a save situation without having had enough *game situation* appearances within the past week or so

Oh well, time for a new series, and whipping up on the D'Rays :D

sigtau305 06-16-2004 05:56 PM

all hail the Detroit Pistons :

2003-2004 NBA FINALS WORLD CHAMPION !!!!!!

Thrillhouse 06-16-2004 08:40 PM

How bout them stones!!:D

polarpi 06-17-2004 12:46 AM

What a great game last night.....

It'll be interesting to see the changes made in the Lakers organization during this off season (who will stay, who will retire, who will go....)

SO happy that the Pistons whipped the Lakers in 5 games (it should've been a sweep, though :p)

Wallace is a solid player...sort of like Rodman but with offensive skills.

Can we mention that Wallace is far more sane than Rodman?

Haha, forgot that part.

Does anyone here think that anyone will make the immense team change needed to take on Shaq and his salary? He's got $60 million coming the next two years, and in the salary cap era I just don't see it happening.

No team in their right mind would take on that. Shaq is better off staying in L.A.

Precisely. But it now seems that Dr. Buss is going out of his way to cater to Ko-bay, so I'm not sure of that. If Rudy Tomjanovich becomes coach, maybe there's a chance for Diesel to stay.
That's because of the Hakeem Olajuwon connection. Shaquille reveres Hakeem, who holds Rudy T. in high regard.
