Friday or Saturday would be the best option for me.
Monday and Thursday night are always out, and sometimes I have planning board/municipal council/env commission meeting to attend on weeknights.
Basically, I would have to know the date at least 2 weeks in advance so that I know not to plan on attening a meeting.

I'd be up for it. i would prefer afterwork during the week - I work til 5:30 in midtown on the east side. Monday, Thursdays and Fridays are good for me.

Zum's is fun but it's a little far south for me, but I might go. Any day but Mon & Wed works for me. Time is whatever but after 7 is probably best I have classes Tues & Thurs in midtown till 7.... If I'm not too swamped with work and school I'll go.

Hey!!! I'd be totally up for meeting. I have been out of the loop for awhile (mom had major life threatening health problems but she's all better now ;) ). Just let me know when and where.

I'll be in the city July 22-25 for a long weekend if anyone wants to meet up. :)

just give me two weeks notice that yall are meeting and id be down for it (i have to give my job two weeks notice for a day off). name the place and the time for that weekend if you want and ill be there!

Most Fridays I am free for Happy Hour if anyone wants to get together. Saturday I am usually always free too. Although living in Queens and going out in Manhattan and then having to deal with getting back to Queens is getting way old for me.............. ;). Has anyone else noticed that there are like NO cabs anymore late at night? And I hate the subway. PM me folks, I am up for meeting GC'ers in the city now or those of you who may be visiting in the future........

You can take the 4, 5, or 6 train to Lex & 86th Street and walk to Fifth and walk to 81/82 Street for the Met.

You can take the E, V, or 6, train to 51/53 Street & Lex and walk to Second Avenue for Remedy Bar.

Which 'burbs?

You can take the LIRR from Long Island or the MetroNorth from Westchester and Connecticut or PATH from NJ.

Grand Central Station is near the 4, 5, 6, & 7 trains.

Penn Station is near the A, C, E, 1, 2, & 3 lines. Take the E to 51/53 St & Lex and transfer to the 6. I think that is the best route.

I tried to go last year!! I had one drink at the Mustang Grill then decided to leave, the whole reason I wanted to go was to be on top of the Met.
I think I'll be in Atlanta this time around.

That chance got a lot bigger today. We'll see.

If the weather cooperates, the rooftop at the Met next Fri should be fab. Was there Tuesday for Museum Mile and it was BEAUTIFUL. Interesting scultptures too...

You moved to Astoria? Wow! I grew up there, and I still have a place there. When I was younger, you could take gymnastics lessons at Bohemian Hall.

The Happy Hour at Remedy Bar was last Tuesday night.

I was just curious cuz I've never heard of it before. Is it nice there? Also has anyone here ever been to Katwalk?

I went to grad school near Katwalk, always had good specials and always looked like a fun time.

When I went to Bohemian Hall Sunday afternoon, there was a gymnastics show going on in the beer garden. Seeing 5-year olds doing cartwheels among adults drinking beer is a surrealistic experience.

Remedy Bar is pretty nice.
