I got a 53% on the first test link (pg 1)...then I saw the other one and got a 83% on the second test. :)

Q: The best sorority is the one who steps the best.

=No

I wondered if most people answered No to this question.

;)

I took it again and got a 58% again. :)

I answered "no" to the following questions:

Q: You re-scheduled all your classes so you can be greek on the yard. What does this even mean? We were always Greek on the yard. LOL. Roadtripping to local yards and out-of-state was a different story--and occurred on the weekends.
Q: You throw a fit if someone says that you act like a ____.
Q: The best sorority is the one who steps the best.
Q: You wouldn't get caught dead in another sorority's colors. I stopped caring when I reached 1 year. I wear whatever colors I want. LOL.
Q: You never take a picture with your sorors without throwing your sign. Since we're usually taking pics at a dressy event, we don't always like to put the spotlight on us by throwing up a 'mid.

Plus it is hard to avoid blue. ;) LOL

Yeah I went to a PWI. We did not have plots or sections of campus, lol.

No one has ever told me I act like anything. I have always had people peg me as a Delta (to my face, lol). :)

The sorority I belong to, serve, and pay my money to is the best. :D

ETA: I took it again and got a 67%. I think I misread the questions or replied yes when I meant no. I need multiple choice, lol.

Ditto on the PWI without plots and sections thingie.

I thought I misread the questions too which is why I took it again. I figure "no" means "I disagree with the statement" or "I don't do that." I was confused on whether to answer "yes" as in I agree that you don't wear tshirts to rush--or "no" as in I don't wear tshirts to rush. So I answered "no."

CarolinaDG 04-04-2006 04:39 PM

84%... I don't buy expensive things.

PhiMuAmberkins 04-04-2006 04:47 PM

A Random DphiE 04-04-2006 06:27 PM

I scored a 68% :D

UKTriDelt 04-04-2006 08:45 PM

Oh I'm embarassed... 94%

I stretched the truth a little on the one about getting mani/pedis. I do those weekly, but I don't get a French.

and ugh, I hate the color pink

AUDeltaGam 04-04-2006 09:25 PM

The last time I took it, I got a 63%...now, I got 57%...I guess being an alum and grad student will do that to you ;)

shinerbock 04-04-2006 09:37 PM

Seriously, represent for Auburn.

ADqtPiMel 04-04-2006 09:52 PM

I'm 87%. My chapter doesn't snap and my boyfriend is unaffiliated.

Haha, I'm trying! Since I don't drink diet soda or beer, that lowers my score ;)

Wow.... Can we grade on a curve in that case? 'Cause if so, that would put me up above 90% and I could marry shinerbock!

jitterbug13 04-04-2006 11:05 PM

47% Some of these questions really didn't apply to me.:o

ETA: On the second quiz (NPHC) I got 75%!:)

shinerbock 04-04-2006 11:56 PM

War Eagle. Score over 90, send me size and cut, we'll make it happen.

86% from the Northeast...maybe I missed my calling to be a southern girl! LOL

LoggerTheta 04-06-2006 02:50 AM

41%

I snap a lot. It's a bad habit. When I'm at home for a school break or something, and I'm watching tv with my dad, I'll snap, and he'll look at me funny. Hahaha

Honestly though, we all love our respective houses. If we didn't, we wouldn't be greek to begin with. Most of those questions are superficial, and are only as descriptive as personal taste, but some of them are about sisterhood, and what that means to you. So, as long as you love your house that's all that matters.

While I was taking that little quiz, I was thinking to myself how diverse the scores would be even in my own house, so I don't even want to say I'm from a "stereotypical" chapter or a "non-stereotypical" chapter. I'm just from my chapter, and all that matters is that my sisters who do wear Tiffany's jewlery, and wear make up every day still respect and love me even though instead of a purse I carry a trifold wallet in my back pocket. Instead of bracelets I carry a pocket knife, and a hand lense (I'm a geology major), and while I know how to look cute, and wear chapter attire, I much prefer baggy men's cargo pants. I still live my sorority's ideals.

DC_Zeta1920 04-06-2006 08:06 AM

NPHC Quiz

83% :)

PGPeripheryGirl 04-06-2006 01:37 PM

81%. 83% on the NPHC one. I will wear other peoples colors though because I don't think about them when I wear it.
This made me laugh though:
You know to get out of the way when the Bruhs start hopping.

I was at the ball at Howard and some Que did a hop and spin.... then landed right on my foot. I was in the middle of strolling as well. I thought I was going to die.

FSUZeta 04-06-2006 07:34 PM

90%

blueangel 04-06-2006 07:43 PM

47 percent.. but I think that's because a lot of questions don't apply to those of us who have been out of college for a while.

FSUZeta 04-06-2006 07:46 PM

i answered as if i was in college

KillarneyRose 04-06-2006 07:49 PM

OMG, the Tiffany heart bracelet is, like so 2002! :p ;)

GreekLetterGirl 04-06-2006 08:41 PM

i got a 57%....

ehh i guess i'm deminishing in my sorority ways by being out of school.

dgdramadawg 04-07-2006 10:59 AM

I was 56%... I guess it's because I never dated fraternity boys... but y'all are right; this quiz is made for southern sorority girls.

SigDeltSwtheart 04-07-2006 11:09 AM

everyone keeps saying that the quiz is made for Southerners...

what exactly differentiates southern girls from the northeastern ones? and where does that leave the rest of us?!

britt

Having lived in the north and the south, I can say with confidence that southern universities (think SEC schools) have larger, competitive rushes and tend to feed the stereotypes in that quiz. When I came down to the south and attended UGA, I didn't know what Coach was, much less own one! It's just a difference in culture on the campuses of the public schools in the two areas. I wonder, however, where the other areas fit into the stereotypes.

AGDee 04-07-2006 09:09 PM

After hearing about these HOPE scholarships in some southern states, it made more sense to me on WHY the Coach bags, Lily Pulitzer dresses, and other designer things were more prominent in some places than others. When you're working 30 hours a week to pay your tuition and room & board, those things just aren't a priority! Free ride for a 3.0.. that would just be awesome and would probably greatly increase sorority memberships in Michigan. Here, there are like 20 full ride scholarships given out from each school (if that many).

A correlational study on that would be interesting...

ilikehazing 04-07-2006 09:32 PM

I'm pretty sure the HOPE ones would be for the poor, black, who wouldn't go to a major college like UGA or Ole Miss or whatever. Not for the rich who are pullin down this kind of money. It's old money we are born into. Sure we get schollies but that's because we went to private schools.

alum 04-07-2006 09:39 PM

I thought the Hope Scholarship was only merit-based (if merit means a 3.0 hs gpa  ) not need-based as well.

macallan25 04-07-2006 09:58 PM

I have some friends at UGA...all in very good fraternities....and all born into very wealthy old money families....that all received HOPE scholarships for making a 3.0. I was never under the impression that it was just for poor people.

It's sad that "Wealthy old money families" need to attend sub-par state schools on scholarships because their parents couldn't afford to send them to private schools and pay their way instead of being a drain on the system.

alum 04-07-2006 10:04 PM

I also thought the HOPE scholarships were originally put in place to prevent a "brain drain" in the state. Don't recipients still have to stay in GA for a couple of years after graduation?

Will you please define wealthy old money families? I think it means something different to me than it does to you. Thanks.

I have no idea about these HOPE scholarships, but they sound pretty interesting.

Nope. And it is merit based...all you had to do was recieve a 3.0 graduating HS GPA.

FSUZeta 04-08-2006 11:04 AM

alum, i can tell you how it works in florida. the state funds "bright futures" scholarships. the awards are based on gpa and s.a.t. scores. the higher the gpa and sat scores, the more money(even up to 100%) of college tuition is covered. i do believe that in florida, to receive the scholarship, the student must attend an in state public university, community college or trade school. as long as they meet the minimum requirements, it is renewable every year for 4 years.
