I guess I'll jump on the R &C bandwagon this morning;
~The black family unit should be common place, not an anomaly. ~Education isn't something "for them white folks" but for everyone. ~Entertainers that expoit our community's ills for the sake of their own profit should be held accountable. ~Once God and discipline (good ol' corporal punishment, sit in the hallway, etc.) and other methods of enforcing authority/respect were taken out of our public schools, our teachers became glorified babysitters. |

Time for a bump. :)
-I believe that many people who dis the iPhone do it because they know they can't afford it. Classic case of sour grapes. -The higher the income and education a man has, the more femininity he wants in a woman. Have not thought of why yet, but I know I'm not crazy, I see this so much. -Bad experiences cause people to develop prejudices way more than ignorance or a desire for superiority. |
wow why didn't I see this thread before
Women are superior.
'Separate but equal' may not always be such a bad concept after all. People don't like to look at themselves or spend time by themselves. That's why they have so many problems in relationships. They need to look at themselves first. People don't like to take the blame, even when they know they're wrong. It's VERY hard for people to say "I'm sorry." ETA: People have CONTROL. ISSUES. |
Forcing individuals that entered the country without proper documentation to pay FEDERAL income taxes would cure the problem of folks coming here illegally. I personally don't consider anyone who pays FEDERAL taxes illegal
Companies that hire illegal immigrants are the plantation owners of the 21st century. |

homosexuality
i think the black community need to be less judgemental on the gay issue. I myself dont agree with homosexuality but who am i to judge them? I'm not perfect and i'm defin. not God Almighty. Let God deal with them on that issue, we should love our brothers, sons, daughters or whoever is gay in our lives because they are still our family. I also feel that if we were more open on this issue then there would less brothers on the DL becuase they wouldn't be so ashamed and fearful of coming out.

Ditto ^^^.
* AFAM churches need to stop with the constant rant against homosexuality. It is no more a sin than little white lies, alcoholism, and fornication. Let's tackle other issues like: older ministers and deacons feeling free to hit on/sexually harass young women. Don't thank God for my body, you perv. Can I get an Amen to that? * As a follow-up, gay marriage should be made legal. Heterosexuals don't need to be the only one with marriage issues. Marriage between idiots should be made illegal. * 40 years of 'affirmative action' (not read: unqualified black for quota purposes) does not make up for more than 400 years of bondage. * Racism DOES exist, but every situation between persons of different races is NOT a racial one. Quit trying to make things out of nothing. * I will not spend more than $20 to see any collegiate sports play. ANY. No matter the team. Some of these people sat in my English class and failed, why am I looking up to them on the field? * Same deal for (most) professional athletes. Million dollar contracts should be reserved for worthy teachers, mentors, community activists/leaders, and the like. Not for a pompous 'player' who boasts his scores on the court, in the bedroom, and on his criminal record. |
IMHO
~I DO NOT think abortion is ok!
~I do not understand homosexuality nor do I want to. I can be friends with one of a different sexual orientation, but I just don't get it, but it is thier life and I don't have to as they don't have to understand my life. ~DL men are trash! ~I believe that people get divorced for recreation nowadays. |
I think gay marriage should be legal. Who am I to tell someone who/how they should love another of their choosing.
I DON'T believe homosexuality/gay marriage is undermining the American family or the moral values of this country. I think prejudice is bread primarily from ignorance (simple not knowing, buying into the stereotypes, and not making an effort to understand) I do not believe that the VAST majority of illegal immigrants in the U.S. are here to abuse the system. I DO NOT believe that latino illegal immigrants are the only illegals in the U.S. (Although the media would have one think so) R. Kelly should go to jail for his "relationship" with that young girl. |

When 7 o'clock in the evening rolls around, I start craving hot steamy salty pasta, gently seasoned vegetables, and moist garlic bread I can sink my mouth into. I like to finish that off with a smooth scoop of ice cream and a big fluffy hunk of cake. While I have a preference, it would be weird going night after night only craving entrees or only craving dessert. mmm mmmm.....HUNGRY! |

I personally don't believe in a heaven or a hell. I believe that people preach fire and brimstone as a method of control. In history Christianity and other forms of religion were used as a way to control government. How else can you keep people from stealing and killing? Tell them that God will punish them and that you will burn in hell. I hear it a lot in churches. We have to bribe and paint a fantasy picture in order for people to give money to the church, give to others and love one another. I think that people should just do good to others and be nice because its the right thing to do; not because they are afraid of what may happen in the after life. I think the reasons why people don't do half the things they really want to do is because they have been preached to as children about rewards and punishments. If I told someone that they could live whatever life they chose and would face no consequences their natural instinct will cause them to go buckwild. But why is it we only do the right thing if we know we get some sort of reward for it? So I said all that to say there is no heaven and hell but people will continue to believe this because this is the only way they feel that justice will be served and that there is a benefit to doing the right thing.
