He's pretty bad, but it's not all his fault - it's due to this 'new-school' horseshit where they've been teaching 'educated flopping' or something. It's like trying to turn Hasek's play into a system. That puts them out of position when they 'guess' wrong - silly.

GUESS WHAT CHODES - it's hard to make a system out of a guy's natural sixth sense, esp when the guy was one of the top 10 goalies ever.

Anyway - looks like the Giguere magic is wearing off, hopefully the canucks can pull it out in minne and move on, they'll tie the ducks to the bed. I'll pay money to see ol' matty ohlund plant paul "wait this isn't u of maine . . . guys . . . guys" kariya

Minnesota, Baby! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili...ty/yelclap.gif

bcdphie 05-06-2003 08:18 PM

there's no other way but the hard way with the Canucks, and even after last night's decimation people were still driving around honking...

hahahah, the concussion-kid is always one step away permanent cobwebs in the attic. No matter what checkmanek was thinking, there's no way he should have been out of his crease for the first ottawa goal. Havlat was on his knees for christ sake, and had both philly D coming down on him....anyways, geuss who's got row E seats for game 7. More expensive then the last ones, but an excellent view!

Minnesota, Baby! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili...ty/yelclap.gif

Heck Yea!!!!

CC1GC 05-08-2003 11:51 AM

siobhan, what's going on with your team? We need a challenge to win the cup, won't be the same vs junky minne.

Now I wanna see a Minne vs. NJ final! :)

bcdphie 05-09-2003 11:06 AM

Ottawa it's all up to you - do your nation proud...

CC1GC 05-09-2003 02:17 PM

yeah yeah, we'll see...ottawa always beats jersey, but you never know with brodeur - he's the wildcard. The west is a joke, look for an east sweep in the finals.

I hope so - I can't believe the Western Conference final is Anaheim and Minnesota

Oh well, I'm doing better today than last night - annoying this is I just got my car flag a week ago and now have to retire already AND I was suppossed to be going to tomorrow's game against anaheim - maybe next year.

CutiePie2000 05-09-2003 06:51 PM

It's too bad it wasn't Vancouver vs. Anaheim.....then it woulda been The Nucks vs. The Ducks! ;)

Anaheim and Minnesota didn't just blunder their way past the top teams in the league...I wouldn't be so quick to rule them out (at least not for a sweep).

neither has played the top team in the like yet. I'm more concerned with Giguere than minne, there's no way a trap team with weak defence can beat a much superior team at it's own style. On the other hand, how many times have we seen a team rely almost entirely on a hot goalie to get swept in the finals - most recently, think kolzig vs detroit.

Yeah - we were all getting used to the Nucks-Ducks round ;)... It was hilarious - some people had their car flags at half mast today.

Can't wait for October

bcdphie 05-10-2003 01:21 AM

School was horrible today - everyone was in such a foul mood and we tried to get out of giving our sales presentations today - but no such luck - our sales teacher is a Habs fan - so she had no sympathy for us :p

CutiePie2000 05-15-2003 12:08 PM

Wow. Anaheim is kicking some serious @zz on Minnesota.
I'm betting it'll be 4 straight!

Ducks and Sens....I can live with that.

bcdphie 05-15-2003 01:05 PM

J.S. you are something else - why are Canadiene goalies so damn good - until they come to Vancouver (Potvin??? - you were awesome in TO and then you come here and are as about as useful as a screen door on a submarine - I'm still waiting to see what Cloutier can do...)

Big thing going around Vancouver right now is.... well you've heard of the song "Stand by your Man" - well in Vancouver it's now "Stand by you Dan" - he was awesome during the regular season - what happened??? Brian Burke looks like he was hit by a semi - this city is so sad now - we better get the Olympics...

God what awful hockey last night!
What the hell are they doing to the ice in jersey...it looked like they were playing on slush. Players were falling down, the puck was always bouncing - just brutal hockey. Trick of the devils to slow down the faster sens, maybe? A different home-ice advantage, like the canucks and their away boards.

LeslieAGD 05-16-2003 05:01 PM

The score really should have been 2-0...ESPN showed the replay and the puck was practically in the very back of the net. Good thing the game wasn't tied or that would be a hugely controvertial call.

LeslieAGD 05-17-2003 07:59 PM

Yay NJ http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili...ty/yelclap.gif One more!

i can see you didn't hurt your wrist when you fell off the bandwagon.

LeslieAGD 05-18-2003 09:44 AM

And what bandwagon would that be?
My team is out of the playoffs, I have to root for someone.

bcdphie 05-20-2003 10:40 PM

Saw a guys with a Sens car flag today which led me to assume one of two things:

a) he's from Ottawa
b) he, like many other Vancouverites (myself included) have hitched a ride on the Sens bandwagon... :p  :D

well that's good, nice to see some support. I geuss most of the country's anti-capital sentiments carries over to the team.

Do or die tonight, good move putting spezza in...i told my co-workers martin had to make some change. Hopefully we can pull out a win so i can go see game 7.

CC1GC 05-22-2003 12:00 AM

oh man, what a game...i watched the whole second half at work...very gut-wrenching...game 7 is gonna be insane

bcdphie 05-22-2003 09:45 AM

I haven't felt all nervous, happy and excited like that since the Canucks were playing...

steelepike 05-22-2003 09:50 AM

Can anyone beleive the the Senators forced a game Seven

Lady Pi Phi 05-22-2003 09:52 AM

I am not a Sens fan, but I have to cheer for them (being that they are a Canadian team)

P.S next year the Leafs will do it (ok I know they won't but I can dream can't I?)

steelepike 05-22-2003 09:56 AM

Dallas is gonna win it all next year

I also said that I was dreaming. I have to cheer for the home town team even if they suck.

steelepike 05-22-2003 10:35 AM

that shows your faith in them and that is good but what is wrong with me saying the stars next yeat?

Lady Pi Phi 05-22-2003 10:39 AM

There is nothing worng with cheering for the Stars. I just don't see them winning. I have a feeling next years Stanley cup finals will be just as boring as this years.

I'm sorry, but Anaheim and Whoever. I am just not excited.

steelepike 05-22-2003 10:44 AM

Well i think the fact that both teams in the Western finals were underdogs was cool and then seven games in the east sounds good. I am sure the finals will be exciting.

Lady Pi Phi 05-22-2003 10:47 AM

Well I hope they are exciting. I think the NHL is having problems getting fans interested in the finals.

steelepike 05-22-2003 10:49 AM

all we can do is find out. i think most sports today are in trouble. Maybe they can get by for now.

bcdphie 05-22-2003 02:39 PM

Leafs, Stars, whatever... Nucks are doing it next year:p (we've been 33 freaking years, I think it's about time for the Cancuks to deliver)...

how can you say that it won't be interesting? Last night's game was one of (if not the best) game of this year's playoff. Ottawa has the most talent in the league. The NHL is not like football. Viewership doesn't steadily increase, fans cheer for their team, and once that team is out they lose interest - excluding teams like toronto with larger fan bases.

p.s. i hate to be the one to tell you this, but toronto is a long way's off to the cup.
