Ah okay, that makes sense

Good luck to all the Auburn PNMs!
|
My daughter cannot wait to greet all of the new members tomorrow. I have heard through the grapevine that some were dropped today.

Can someone tell me the details since I won't be there. When they go to the arena are they with their pi chi groups? Are they opening an envelope or just handed a sheet of paper like the paper invites?
Is it then they take off running to their sorority house? When do they get a big sister? What happens today at the sororities? Do things chill out now? D has a strong choice for #1, but says she'll be okay if she see sees #2 or #3 listed. |

(Its also always late) Then the girls will run to meet up with the other girls from their chapter to walk to the chapter rooms. The ones in Oak will have to walk around Oak to get to the lawn to go to their chapter. |

Counted from a Bid Day pic, looks like Auburn TriDelt has 73 new members!

My daughter is over the moon! We texted while in the arena while she showed me pictures. A few minutes letter I got the phone with her screaming:

Ok. I'm home. Craziest day ever. Crazier than move in day. My daughter is a super duper happy KAPPA ALPHA THETA. The best part is Theta was first on her list from day one. Philanthropy was the best when she figured out that it was CASA. We have two adopted children. Foster care and orphan care are her passion so CASA was perfect. Then she loved their skit and listed them first on pref day. It was love at first sight.

Ok, how does Theta have 20 more NMs than what appears to be quota? I didn't think they could have that many quota additions, so does this factor in some COB already? Or am I missing something?

Auburn bid day!
Did all of the sororities make their quotas?
|
Quota was 72. A handful had quota +1 or +2 and a couple had more quota additions than that. I believe they have it set so that as many as possible get their first or second choice

Thanks, irishpipes! My campus doesn't have guaranteed placement and has much lower numbers so I've never seen the results of that rule on a big campus like Auburn. I think it's great that so mant ladies were able to find a home there this week!

It would be kind of cool if we knew that going to pref and maximizing totally guaranteed a bid, but I didn't realize we were there for all campuses with RFM these days. I though you could still get dropped at UGA, for instance, depending on whom you preffed and what quota was. |
Well, quota is determined after all girls sign their pref cards. So I'm not sure that affects things.
But also, even with schools that have "guaranteed placement" it still bars outstanding circumstances. A girl can be dropped after pref if something is seriously wrong. |

Well, bless her heart, except for the outlier who bombs her own recruitment or for whom "untoward" information is received between pref and submittal of bid list. |
Released
My daughter was released her GPA was 3.23 from a northern private school. This GPA to love for many of the sororities. It looks like all the sororities met their quota. On a 4.5 scale her GPA was 3.6 and we didn't include that.... Ant advice for COB??
