Big Ten unveils new logo, divisional names.

http://content.usatoday.com/communit...ers-new-logo/1

A. The new logo looks like it was "designed" by a 5 year-old.

B. Leaders and Legends? Really?

sceniczip 12-13-2010 05:35 PM

That logo is AWFUL! I can't wait to tell BF :p

Yikes. I am highly disappointed in that logo.

And I share your sentiments re: Leaders/Legends. But, as long as Michigan and that state school get to face off, I'm happy.

Saw this on the www.uga.edu website and posted as trivia and not intended as being critical to any school, including the North Avenue Trade School.;)

UGA's original school colors were red, black and gold, but gold was later dropped when some protested that yellow implied cowardice.

Ohio level of idiocy reached by Ohio State football players.

http://content.usatoday.com/communit...nded-tattoos/1

News that Terrelle Pryor will be entering the draft in 3-2-1.......

AGDLynn 12-28-2010 04:35 PM

AMEN!!!!!!

This is sooo unfair!

What is the difference between A.J. Greene and Terrell Pryor?

BCS GAME!!!

NETrySIG89 12-28-2010 05:18 PM

Neither Greene nor Pryor did anything wrong. The rule is fucked up, if I was OSU AD I would come out in definitive support of Pryor

AGDLynn 12-28-2010 05:58 PM

Whether or not they did something wrong is beside the point. The point is the NCAA allows some players to delay serving their "suspension" while others have to serve it immediately.

Pryor probably won't be back so what's his punishment??

"Didn't know"???? Yea, right!! (extremely sarcastically)

NETrySIG89 12-28-2010 06:14 PM

I think whether or not they did something wrong is the larger point. The specifics of the suspension is one thing. I personally don't think he should be suspended for the bowl game because the NCAA's number 1 priority should be the games and what goes on the field. What he did doesn't affect on the field performance, so whats the point in ruining what will be an awesome game?

The larger point is whether there is anything wrong with selling the merchandise. I think there isn't. That is their personal property, they should be able to sell it

PeppyGPhiB 12-31-2010 03:15 AM

That Holiday Bowl game was the best that I've seen the Huskies play in probably 10 years. I am over the moon!

als463 12-31-2010 12:05 PM

Let's go 'Cuse!!! What a great game! My Orangemen beat Kansas State in the Pinstripe Bowl!!! So proud of Syracuse!!! Now, I'm waiting to see if my Nittany Lions can pull it through and kick butt in the Outback Bowl!!!

Big Ten got pwned today.

At least we won our bowl game, no matter how unimportant it was :)

Why is the Big Ten going to keep the name Big Ten with 12 teams?

christiangirl 01-02-2011 04:55 AM

Just found out the date of the championship (yes, I'm late). 1/10/11 I'll be there! GO DUCKS!!! :D

Because they're too dumb to actually count.

TCU Rose Bowl Champs!!!! Wooooo Hoooooo! The game was an absolute blast and the atmosphere was amazing. Props to Wisconsin for a great game.

Now, Gordon Gee, about that "little sisters of the poor" comment... after your oh, so elite conference got thumped 0-5 on New Years do you want to rethink your evaluation of college programs and who-can-play-with-who?

The Big 12 is going to have 11 soon, why are they keeping their name???

/defensiveness of my conference

Actually, the Big Ten is clearly not concerned with accuracy, as they've had 11 teams in the conference since 1990, lol

Kevin 01-02-2011 11:23 AM

Big 12 will have 10. Big 10 will have 12.

That is a math problem I wouldn't want to explain. New Math?

AGDee 01-02-2011 02:05 PM

If the Big 10 accepts one more team from a state it already doesn't represent, it will represent 10 states... that could work.
Current states: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

They should just call it the Big Midwest Conference.

Kappamd 01-03-2011 04:52 PM

Or they could just stop trying to pretend they are a competitive conference.

Any word on them changing "Legends" and "Leaders?" I mean, honestly. Legendary at what? Blowing bowl games? Losing to the SEC? I root for a Big Ten team, and even I think the whole conference is becoming a joke.

Emphasis on the bold.

It was a pretty solid conference in the past, so maybe that's why TPTB thought it was a good idea to use Leaders and Legends? I don't know.

Right, like "legends" means they used to be good, and the "leaders" are going to lead the conference back to its winning ways?

They have a record of losing to the Pac-10, too. I'm already counting Nebraska in the Big 10 and so I'm counting the UW's shucking of the Huskers in the Holiday Bowl :)

AGDee 01-04-2011 07:55 AM

Harbaugh... please!

Kappamd 01-04-2011 04:37 PM

As much as I enjoyed having Rich Rodriguez as the UM coach, for obvious reasons as an OSU fan, he never really fit in. Michigan has a storied and proud athletic tradition, and he brought it down. I hope that that next guy (sorry Dee, sounds like it won't be Harbaugh according to the Detroit Free Press) will have the class that is necessary to bring the program back to where it belongs. Now, mind you, not enough to beat OSU, :) but anyone else, OK.

I know I am double posting but I don't think any team in ANY conference can beat the top SEC teams. They are just too good. And yes, that includes the Ducks. And, unfortunately, OSU:( , although my fingers are crossed that the Idiot 5 decide they'd better have one helluva game tonight because their draft status depends on it.

AGDee 01-04-2011 07:16 PM

I never thought Rich Rod was a good fit from the time they announced him. I'm very bummed that it will probably not be Harbaugh :( I don't blame him if he'd rather take an NFL coaching job. I just hope it's someone better than Rich Rod...

OK, now the AD at Michigan is saying that he has not yet made a decision regarding Rich. Right.

And regardless of how it turns out for the OSU football team tonight, OSU has a fabulous marching band, TBDBITL. I hope we get to see Script Ohio.
