Thank god it ended, I think my ears were about to start bleeding.

Ok, so Palin didn't tank, but she sure didn't hit it out of the ballpark. And here's a tip, if you don't really know a General's name, don't say it.

Biden was terrific, IMO. He even had a real "moment" there! (my husband turned and gave me a fist bump on that one ;))

Hey fist bumping is a terrorist sign...LOL

and...how about she didnt really dig too deep on bankruptcy or the mortgage crisis...just energy energy energy

I know she has a young baby but I felt that she was using him as an attention-getter at the end..

HELLOOO, I'm sure there is someone in Alaska who could have babysat for a few hours!

(BTW, loved the Lieberman line from above:) )

She didn't do as poorly as I expected - but the nucular killed me every time.

pinksirfidel 10-02-2008 11:15 PM

Classic....

Biden: "Drill, Drill, Drill"
Palin: "You got the chant wrong...it's "Drill, Baby Drill!"

What was the line about the bridge to know where? Did someone catch that?

OH MY GOD me too, it's like fingernails on a chalkboard.

One of CNN's "flash poll" things said people who watched the debate say Biden won 51% to her 36%.

I don't think it changes the campaign landscape -- she may not be as much of a debit to the McCain side, but she still is certainly not an asset. Obama will keep his lead.

Palin: Israel is our strongest and best ally in the Middle East. We have got to assure them that we will never allow a second Holocaust, despite, again, warnings from Iran and any other country that would seek to destroy Israel, that that is what they would like to see.

wow!!!!

who commented on this?

Questions...

Did Sarah mention once, how John McCain isn't another George Bush or a maverick for that matter? She kept saying that Joe/Obama keeps going backwards, and then brought up energy. Something McCain has flip flopped about in recent times.

Did Joe Biden defend the reasons why Obama voted against funding for the troops? All I heard was that McCain voted the same way. Two wrongs don't make a right. That really wasn't the answer I was looking for.

She's just spouting more rehearsed rhetoric -- it's a strategic misrepresentation: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/685/

He said it had to do with other pieces of it and the lack of a good plan to leave. He said McCain voted against it for a different reason, because there was a timeline.

I found the most avoidance on her part to be the Achilles heel question. After her answer about climate change, my daughter said "So does she believe in global warming or not?" and I said "I have no idea but I think she said that she believes the climate is changing but that it isn't man made" She definitely didn't say that too clearly.

ETA: Her wink bugged me, but that's a personal thing, not an issues thing.

Sarah Palin does NOT have the poise to be VP. She also needs elocution lessons. It's NEW-KLEE-ER!!!
