Without giving away too much, all I can say is that my mouth dropped open when they showed the winner's picture.

I just got a call from my sister screaming "BIG GIRLS UNITE!!!" so I take it West Coasters have had sufficient chance to see the outcome, but I put up the disclaimer just in case. :p

I was so incredibly happy with the winner! But I was super shocked, too. I thought for sure Anya had it locked up until Fatima was eliminated. I figured out a pattern back around Cycle 6--the girl whose name is called first in the last episode rarely ever wins. Usually, the girl who is almost elminated pulls it out in the end. I've thought for weeks Anya would take it, but when Anya was called first, I knew whoever the judges kept would win. I am sooooo ridiculously happy, I know my neighbors think I'm nuts because I sure did scream the walls down. :D:D:D I wish it had been Toccara who was the first full-figured winner, but I'm happy with this, too!

When the final 3 was revealed I knew/hoped it'd be Whitney in the end.

1) Big girls get worked over on ANTM.
2) Girls named Whitney get worked over. :) There are skinny girls named Whitney, right?
3) Fatima and Anya aren't "Cover Girl" Commercial enough though they're both capable high fashion models.

Anybody know how long CG's contract with ANTM lasts? The first season it was Revlon and Adrienne beat Shannon. If they were the final two in any other season Shannon would have won because Adrienne couldn't really pull off Cover Girl. There's been many girls over the seasons that I couldn't help but think if it weren't for CG they would have had a better shot of at least going further.

I think it lasts a year (or until the next winner comes?). Yes, Adrienne would've caved to Shannon if it had been CG. What I don't get is why Fatima made it onto the show at her weight. There have been one or two girls in the past who didn't make it onto the show because they were too thin and that's not the image Tyra wanted to present. Fatima is a scary size zero and even a designer said she wouldn't book her because she's too thin. I wonder what it was (her talent, her story, etc.) that got her through? Nothing against her, just wondering.

What's her face won a few cycles ago and she's VERY skinny. But that Fatima girl is disgustingly, unhealth-looking skinny. A HORRIBLE role model for girls.

Wahoo!! That is 2 for the Jacksonville ANTM team!! Yoanna and Whitney! I loved Whitney from the beginning. I am so happy that she won!! Her runway kicked butt. :D

I think they realized they needed to pick someone who could be more "commercial" and All-American. Anya is beautiful and I really like her, but she just isn't cut out for being a spokesmodel. Regardless of her accent, she can't speak in front of a camera or crowd.

I thought for sure that it would be Anya and Fatima (because the judges seemed to LOVE them). When Whitney made it to the final two I was so excited! Then the runway, I thought Anya sucked big time but again I figured the judges would LOVE it. I also figured Anya would win because of the judges habit of picking top models who can't talk.

I was soooooo happy when Whitney won! It's about time they picked a girl, who I don't know, is NORMAL!!!!

When they were showing the pics at the beginning, all I could think was how much better Anya looked before they bleached her eyebrows out, not to mention her hair. Whitney though looks great as a blonde AND a brunette.

I can totally see her staying with CG past her ANTM contract - I just look at her and she IS Cover Girl.

God bless Miss J, he was pushing for her big time and he got his wish. I don't know what was up Paulina's ass but it needs to crawl out. If Janice can be happy with Eva after bitching about her being short all season, Paulina can suck it up and crack a smile for Whitney.

I meant the show's contract. I think they should move on to MAC or Sephora or some other beauty company. It'll change the competition and I won't be so good at picking who will go home because they aren't Cover Girl.

Estee Lauder owns MAC. They (EL) are far too control freaky to leave any aspect of their marketing up to fate.

CG was floundering, if I recall, and losing market share to Maybelline and other companies when they became affiliated w/ ANTM. If it's made their sales $$ go up, I doubt they'll be bowing out anytime soon. Not to mention it assures they'll get pages in Seventeen - no small thing these days, especially when stuff like Chanel is being pitched to that market.

I almost DIED when she said Anya looked stupid. :eek:
