Necessities ??!!!
Ladies Ladies Ladies ...The necessities thread WHAT IS UP????!!! Did we learn nothing from doing philanthropy ?? WE are soo lucky to be able to be able to attend college. Many people can't pay for it. AND to be able to afford dues to belong to wonderful organizations that do so much for us. I think the only sorority girl necessities should be a love for your organization and a smile for anyone you see on campus who needs it. My soror isn't very "image" conscious, we all like to look nice, but we don't have to flaunt designer clothes all the time or anything like that. We have a soror. on campus like that and I declined their bid becuase of it.

I think this thread is a way to see what trends are popular at different schools around the country.

I agree with you, Glitter. I accepted a bid from Pi Phi because of who they were and the fact that I didn't have to fit some sort of fashion mold. I am not a traditional soroity girl by any means. I work a lot and am only able to afford school because of that and working my butt off to keep a scholarship. You want to know what MY needs are?
My Cell Phone - a little expensive, but worth it for safety Good Lip gloss a sturdy backpack (my history book weighs about 10 pounds!) a good supply of clips and hairbands and most important : a great attitude!:D TG |

hi
i think it would be interesting to start a thread on the different styles of dress(sorority or otherwise, for the different parts of the US . I can say, however, that most people on my campus at UCSB tend to be VERY trendy, although as far as sororities, you can generally (and im not trying to stereotype so much as differentiate) detect a sorority girl on my campus by the year round, impeccably manicured feet, usually french tip and probably with decals, etc; a tiffanys or bebe chain necklace, and a charm bracelet...thats as far as accessories go..as far as labels, there is a lot of Coach, Gucci, Abercrombie, Bebe, Kate Spade, and Dior. But, UCSanta Barbara is comprised of middle to upper middle class students who have the means to project this certain "image".. I find it fascinating, as I, too, am a lover of fashion but it is crazy now when I compare SB fashion to my old hometown in Lancaster where Express and Rave are more the norm for college age women.
