We had one sister cross over from three. It's been a hard and bumpy road but we have sat down and changed a few rules here and there and made handbooks on pledging. We might start a summer pledge. In mean time we are trying get new shirts, but all the sites that do screen shots want about 20-24 shirts done. Sadly we only have seven girls.

No. The name did not originate from the movie. The saying "she's like the girl next door," which was around long before the movie is used to refer to the kind of girl you can take home to meet your parents, she's sweet, well mannered, & well rounded generally speaking. An All American Girl. :)

you couldve went with Alpha Alpha Gamma. but then not all of your sisters (potentially) would be American (well i suppose culturally) and then itll get messy in the name of PC-ness.

LOL, no not that trashy movie with Elisha Cuthbert (forgot about that tho!). We're talking about the TV series, "The Girls Next Door", which is an inside peek at the life of 3 of Hugh Hefner's "girlfriends" inside the Playboy mansion. It's been on for at least a couple of years, I would assume it's enjoyed by many a male college undergrad. And I have to be honest, the pink and purple colors you're using are even reminiscent of it.

I will have to look that television series up. I have never heard of it before.

Im a member of the wonderful local sorority Delta Sigma Chi. We were founded in 1962 and going strong. We currently have 24 members. I am a member of the newest pledge class. At our school we aren't allowed to have rush or pledging until second semester, so I am not sure what the new class will look like but ill keep you updated :)

I understand EXACTLY how you feel! Sigma Alpha Chi shares a similar story. My class (Pi) was the last full line that the sorority had. We were 3 in and 3 out. Last semester like you, we had seven members, but two quit and we have one member at large. It has been difficult with just four girls, but I can honestly say that the sorority seems to run so muchmore smoothly and my sisters and I are the closest that we could possibly be. It would be great to have ten girls, we would be happy with that, but my big sister always told my line sisters and I that is isnt about quantity, but quality. My advice to you is to represent your sorority any way you can. We go to a lot of probates and educational programs, as well as other Greek events. I wear my letters as much as I possibly can, and I encourage my sisters to do the same so that way our faces can be tied to our letters. Establishing relationships with other Greek chapters is another suggestion. NPHC chapters and other Multicultural Greek chapters are great supporters of us.

If you ever would like to chat local to local, just send me and message and I would love to talk! Good luck with your chapter and REPRESENT!!!!
