Yeah, that is a common misconception. I'm pretty sure that the Old Row fraternities and sororities have to go about a process to be considered an "Old Row" house. Somone can correct me.....but I'm pretty sure that is how some friends at Alabama described it.
|
 I read somewhere that the "Old Row" fraternities and sororities were labled as such by the whole school; had functions together called "Old Row" and even had "Old Row" specific T-Shirts.

Sororities: *KD *DDD *AGD KKG Phi Mu A Chi O Chi O * = First Circle sororities. They have their own functions as well. Fraternities: DKE SAE Sigma Nu KA FIJI (but they go by Phi Gam at UA; they hate to be called FIJI) Beta |
Interesting. Thanks for the list.
(Fascinating that not only is there a group of sororities, but also a group within the group. So different from what I've seen on any campus I've worked with.) |

They are affliated with the nationals but just do not like FIJI. They prefer Phi Gam. My brother and father are members of the chapter. They are the Theta chapter and were featured last year in the magazine for making some major milestone in years (cant remember). Its them and I know some Phi gams from UGA that also prefer Phigam over FIJI.
Sidenote the only time i have ever heard them use FIJI is the annual FIJI Island party in the spring.... |
