I was at convention! And it was awesome! We also announced where 2008 NLC and 2009 Convention will be! NLC will be in Boston and Convention will be in Walt Disney World in Orlando!

Anyway, back to the thread...

The answer is Eunice Spears.

Some members of Alpha claimed her to be a fifth founder (and I think she did as well, but don't quote me on that).

I also think that in KD's yearbook debut, Eunice was listed among the founders and Sara was not!

Ok, someone else's turn!

How fun! I can go totally make it to Orlando! What a great location!

I also got to handle Geneview Holladay's (aka our first national president) council ring AND handwritten notes from Julia Wilson, where she talked about our founding and the ritual. Reading that gave me chills.

That's amazing! I would love to see the archives someday.

Okay, so here's a pretty easy question that's not in the history books. I couldn't decide whether to post it in the NPC Trivia thread or here. (Of course, over there I'd have to get an answer right to post it so....)

There is a secret society in existence today (at some unnamed university ;)) that was founded in 1900 by members of 3 NPCs. One of those NPCs is Kappa Delta.

What's the name of the secret society? Where is it located? And what two other NPCs were involved in its founding?

ms_gwyn 09-10-2007 08:51 PM

I know I know....

can I answer?

What's the name of the secret society? CHI

Where is it located? (now) Longwood University (State Female School in Farmville)

what two other NPCs were involved in its founding? Sigma Sigma Sigma and Zeta Tau Alpha

What exactly is the purpose of CHI?

sunnydebs 09-11-2007 05:47 PM

I was wondering the exact same question!

kathykd2005 09-11-2007 05:49 PM

I'm glad I asked, then :)

kathykd2005 09-11-2007 05:53 PM

O, ok I get it now. I googled it and found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longwood_University
There is a whole section on "CHI."

trojangal 09-12-2007 05:01 AM

interesting stuff....

SydneyK 09-12-2007 07:02 AM

Wow... that's really cool. Wouldn't it be obvious who is in CHI without having to have the senior reveal? I mean, a group of women donning blue and white robes and carrying torches at midnight would kinda stand out, wouldn't they?

KDAngel 09-12-2007 12:54 PM

Yay! I love that the trivia is back up and running again! :D
