You can't be serious. Practically every college has a communications major. If they don't have communications, they probably have journalism...or PR, or English. Pick one of the above and you'll be prepared for an internship at least.

I MUST laugh at your comment about not being able to get into classes at your small college. If you're complaining now, wait until you go to that large university you're trying so hard to get into. You won't be able to get any of your top choice classes until you're a junior or senior and have the credits. Sure, the classes may have room for 700 students, but you might be competing against 39,300 other students to get one of those precious spots. GOOD LUCK.

I was thankful I had the scores to get into the honors college. All honors college people got to register before the general population, so I never had problems getting whatever...but I do know others who did...

Am I just reading this wrong? You seem to think that Missouri and Illinois are "out west"....

If so, you need to SERIOUSLY brush up on your geography.

cuteASAbug 06-14-2007 03:16 PM

what school are you at?

Lilxcutie88 06-14-2007 03:43 PM

west, midwest...same difference..haha im just from the east coast so thats west for me(illinois).

How do you find out about alumnea(sp?) groups? What kind of things do they do? Does it act the same way as the other sororities on campus? we have agirl in ours who was a transfer, and we accepted her. i dont know what the process for that was. I think all it is paper work.

my mom actually talked to a girl that she works with who is in a sorority and asked her about changing to a new one. and she said that all you do is turn in ur pin and stop giving dues to that particular sorority. maybe thats an old rule or something.

people are right many schools do have Communications, but it ends up just being journalism or like interpersonal communications..stuff like that. my path is geered for like MEDIA studies.. media relatons, which is like the study of film, working at a tv station, stuff like that. because I cant write as you can probably tell, i need something more hands-on in that field, more on the technical side. I mean at my school i'm not sure for others, we have like 6 comm classes that open each semester & only one time is offered for that class. we have 15-25 spots in them. and only certain classes are offered every so many years, so if you dont get into ur basically screwed. but its just notin my major, its the whole school practically..people seriously think its because the school wants your money so they try and keep you there longer.

YOU CANNOT JOIN ANOTHER NPC IF YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN INITAITED, REGARDLESS HOW CRAPPY A MEMBER YOU ARE TO YOUR FIRST SORORITY AND WHETHER OR NOT YOU TURN IN YOUR PIN.

PS WEST and MIDWEST are NOT the same thing.

Just make sure you tell that to the Director of Greek Life at your new school. I'm *sure* they will understand.

Lilxcutie88, Tri Sigma has a great website that you probably should be utilizing right now instead of GC. It took about 90 seconds to go to this page, select a state, and then click on any of the cute little globe links to look at different alumnae chapter websites.

Also, perhaps you should be contacting your local chapter adviser (or any member of your chapter's advisory board) for advice and guidance. You're going to get much better answers from your sisters and possibly a few contact names at other collegiate or alumnae chapters in the areas might be considering.

When/IF you register for recruitment at your new school ... you'll be asked "Have you ever been an initiated member of an NPC sorority?". Are you going to lie about that?? If so, how good a member would that make you??

No, that'd be me. I'm in Hawaii -- so I'm the one in Asia.

Lilxcutie88, KSUViolet06 gave you your options. I'd listen to her and not what your mom's friend's daughter's roommate's 2nd cousin said.

Anyone west of the Mississippi must have chestnut eyes. Therefore, SmartBlondeGPhiB is Russian.
