Was anyone else surprised at the implication that Claire's friend is gay? I thought he was in luv with her.

That's what I thought too. I have many gay friends, but none would ever take a ladder up to my window and help me sneak out.

For a brief moment, when Peter looked at the photo of the painting, I thought that it was Claire's friend that lay dead in front of the HS, not Peter. They both have dark hair and are moody looking.

IMHO it is a bit too soon for that.

Of course it is. They need to drag it out at least until the Season Finale.

Just found this on MSNBC.com :
Save the cheerleader, save ‘Heroes’?

Sure, ‘Heroes’ is hot, but its much-hyped episode was a let-down

Did Claire's friend really admit he was gay? I thought the other cheerleader said he was and then the friend said something like, "I don't care, it doesn't really matter what she thinks of me." I didn't think he was actually saying he was gay.

Definitely. But it was even better to see that she'd been Sylar-ed.

Ok, I did feel really bad for her at this point.

If so, look for a jail break next week as I do not think Dad has any thought of helping anyone but his 'daughter' and himself.

I don't think Peter can "keep" his powers for that long. Question though, did he have a scar from his Sylar encounter? Future-Hiro made a comment about a scar.

The question is did they save the right cheerleader?

They've been playing close to the line on that for a while. I think the main point is that it doesn't matter because he's still there for her

He didn't say he wasn't gay though. He basically said "I'm happy with who I am and I want you to be too." I took that as admitting he's gay with out upsetting right wing bible thumpers...who I would guess wouldn't actually watch the show. So then why be ambiguous?

It left me wondering if the writers (and actor) knew about this twist very long. Like I mentioned I thought he luvs Claire. So now I'm trying to figure out if it was intentional or did this come from out of the blue.

It's been in there though. There was a comment about taking her out for a date and he said something like "not on your life." And the second episode had a comment from Jackie about "I heard you got an erection in the locker room" to Zach. Basically a punch worthy comment that made Claire's assault on her so much sweeter.

I don't think they're avoiding upsetting the conservative Christian crowd, to me it's a very normal progression. He's 17 or so and even if he's sure that he is gay, he's not necessarily ready to reveal it. To him, that's as big of a secret as Claire's superpowers.

I think they're leaving it open for the audience so it can go either way, but they've already decided.

Apparently the characters have Myspace pages (I don't have access at work) and he's listed as "questioning."

Thanks! You're totally right. I was so under the "Zach + Claire 4 Eva" spell that I let those hints slip past me. :)

Well, with the time-traveling that goes on in the show it's not at all unlikely that the school scene may get replayed with different consequences later in the season.

Well and isn't there a painting of Hero and Ando standing under the fallen Homecoming banner? I think they're going to show up there after the Sylar/Peter fall but sometime that night.

I'm looking forward to this "6 Months Earlier" episode...

adpi*violet 11-28-2006 09:01 PM

Thoughts on last night's "6 months ago" episode?
Still left me with a lot fo questions.
