I just loved how everyone was racing like hell thinking it was a pitstop when the clue made ZERO mention of Phil or the mat! Way to pay attention to detail people.
|
I like bama (I guess I am the only one, oh well ::shrug::)
You also do what you gotta do in order to advance in the race (i.e.: taxi stand) but the thought did cross my mind about the "ugly american"-type. The BQs are getting on my nerves, but I have a feeling that they are going to win. I want the Cho Bros to win! |

Hellinski?
Heskinki? Hi, idiots...how hard is it to say HEL-SINK-I? And Cho Brothers, I love y'all...but get a clue. Come on now. |

I also like Bama more than the BQs, who annoy me more than anyone on this race. That said, if I hear "six pack" one more time, I'm going to smack someone.
|
yeah the six pack is over! kentucky done went home, and i think bama is getting the boot too.
here's my thing: they complain about how the BQs are getting around on their looks and whatnot, but they dont exactly dress to impress... and why were they the only ones boo-hooing when their family videos came through! they couldve saved that for the train ride instead of wasting time. and ooh i was hyped when rob and kim JUST MISSED their train! that is the WORST feeling in the world. i mean, i rather it be long gone than to see it just leave 30 seconds down the track. the amazing race for me is like my AM commute. no joke.i really want them to lose, and im just waiting for them to fight so they can get kicked off the show. dont get me wrong, i dont like the BQs, but they get their job done so now what? cant hate too much. |
I want the final three to be BQ, CHO and Models.

That said, I think you're right about the complaining. They complain about the BQs getting everything on looks, but then we see (1) the BQs ask if they can take a taxi without waiting in the queue before jumping ahead of everyone, and (2) Bama simply act like there aren't other people waiting in the queue and ignoring the man who is asking them to get in line. Lyn and Carlyn have been carrying huge chips on their shoulders the entire race: they complain that other teams are taking advantage of something -- looks, a prosethetic leg, whatever -- and blame that for any troubles they are having rather than looking at their own lousy attitudes. They grouse about the BQs leaving the dented car or saying the models are with them for the flight, but I bet they would have done exactly the same things for someone else in the Back-of-the-Pack. They actually pushed a Kuwaiti man just to keep him from translating for the BQs, for pete's sake. And they berated the ticket man ("I just hope you can sleep with yourself at night") for giving the models their tickets first, when it was clear that EVERYONE WAS GETTING ON THE SAME FREAKIN' FLIGHT. I would have done the same thing as the ticket man out of sheer spite if they had talked to me like that. My kids understand this stuff better than Bama does -- when you're nice to people, they're more likely to want to be nice to you; when you rail at them, they're less likely to listen to you or be helpful to you. I find little to like about them, except their love for their kids. Yes, the BQs can be smug or annoying -- the "sista" remark was definitely unnecessary -- and yes they are using their looks and their "congeniality" to their advantage. They'd be stupid not to. But they are racing well, and one reason they are racing well is that they are focusing on their own race rather than expending energy complaining about other teams. I want the BQs and the models in the final 3. As for the third team, I like the Chos better and would like to see them there, but I have to say that I think Rob and Kimberly deserve it more. |

granted, i started to watch the series midway through, but how do you figure Rob and Kim deserve it over the Chos? Aside from the Chos sometimes making dumb moves, i feel like they and the couple are pretty even. |

This ain't Survivor. Alliances are not that helpful. If you're going to have them, you do it like the models have done -- working with Rob and Kimberly or the BQs when doing so is in their own best interests but cutting off and going on their own when that is in their best interests. Or you make an agreement to yield another team or the like (as the models, R & K and the BQs appear to have done). You don't let the alliance control you, like the Chos keep doing. |
Love 'em or hate 'em, the BQ's are playing a smart race which is why they're coming in first and second so much of the time. But hmmm.. is "smart" the correct term? Remember this gem?
"Don't they wear wooden shoes?" "Oh, sweetie, that's Holland!" Cho's had been my sentimental favorite, but they're just making bad judgement calls. This is a RACE. This isn't a love fest where you sit around the campfire and sing kumbiya. Rob and Kimberly are my least favorite-- but they had the gumption to ask permission to jump the line, and they were granted their request. So Cho's.. what gives? It wouldn't hurt to at least ask. (But, boo hiss to 'bama for practically knocking down a businessman to cut without asking). So what do the Cho's do? They stepped to the back of the line and waited their turn. That's not racing. It's going to be interesting to watch them repel face-down off of the stadium tower on Sunday. Remember how much they "love" heights. |
I knew the Cho brothers were goners when they sat and WAITED for Bama after finishing the tank task. You don't WAIT for your competitors, despite alliances or what not.

And I have to admit, I just want to groan when teams talk about "running the race the way we were brought up" and not losing their integrity. I'm sorry, but you signed up for this knowing it was a competition. And it is possible to be competitive and keep your integrity intact. You run a clean race, help other teams when you can without harming your own position, remain on friendly terms with as many teams as possible, and the like. You don't sit around and wait for other teams. |
I would have loved to be in the room last night with the Cho's as they watched the episode and heard 'bama wondering why on earth they were waiting for them-- and that they wouldn't wait for the Cho's.
They Cho's were also pretty stupid not to follow 'bama out of "pride." So, instead, they got lost.. way lost. |
