I'm sorry. :( I read this entire thread & was hoping things would turn out well for you.

I'm sorry things didn't work out. I'm not sure if many UCF chapters have COB, but if they do, I suggest checking it out. I joined my chapter through COB in the spring and it was the best thing I ever did!

i am sorry that things didn't work out! good luck with whatever you choose to do!

BamaDad 08-20-2006 01:05 PM

Best of luck to you, young lady, from a very sympathetic father whose daughter is going through recruitment. UCF is a great school. I hope you succeed in all your endeavors there. We will keep our fingers crossed that you get picked up by one of the alternative methods.

I'm sorry. I promise, life does go on, but it is perfectly normal and ok to be disappointed right now. Good luck at UCF. It's a great university and I'm sure once you've cleared this roadblock you'll find where you're meant to be.

I'm sorry that things didn't work out for you. I hope you throw yourself into the upcoming semester and get involved on campus. If you decide to pursue COB or rush again in the fall, these things will greatly help you.

We probably won't know for a week or so... I hope it's not out of line for me to make an educated guess based on the CR trends of the past few years. This year may be a little different than last year, as more PNMs came out to recruitment this year than last. Also, based on the stats from last spring's GPA placements, most of the chapters were just at or over chapter total-- it would really depend on who makes quota and who's over total (and how many seniors graduated out of a chapter last spring).

liltrixx - thank you for everything and I am sure you will see that everything is fine - I am sure your are not happy now but go to a good mexican restaruant with a great friend and pass the time away on nachos and hot sauce - I know that might not make sense now but keep yourself busy today. (of course you don't have to take my advice but)

WE ALL WISH THE BEST FOR YOU NOW and in the future.

I'm sorry to hear that things didn;t work out for you, but if you have the opportunity to sign up for COB, please be sure to think of that option! I'm sure the Greek Life Office will have information about any sororities participating after recruitment is over.

Very sorry things did not work out for you. Hopefully perhaps COR will bring a welcome outcome.

this group I don't think I ever felt truly comfortable with. as much as I liked them, I felt like the minority since they were founded by jewish women and a lot of the women in this chapter are jewish.
Since you're not Jewish, I'm sorry you were uncomfortable with people of a different faith. I know that many sororities were founded on Christian ideals but that doesn't present problems for sisters who are of Jewish, Islamic, Hindu or Bhuddist faiths from joining and feeling 100% at home. I may be off on this but I belive that one of the founding members of AOII was Jewish and founded a great sorority alongside her Christian sisters. For that matter, the badge of my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta has Hebrew letters on it and we're not a "traditionally Jewish" sorority.

I guess to each their own...

adpiucf 08-20-2006 09:39 PM

Ditto. When I went through recruitment there were also many Jewish women in the university's Pi Phi and ZTA chapters...

I'm not trying to be snarky, I just must have misread/misunderstood your quote from a previous post. Anyway, good luck to you with the rest of school and your future endeavours...
