My dear, please don't drag me into any beef you have with anyone else up here on GC. If you noticed I refrained from attacking you up in this thread but now you are addressing me. The manner in which you spoke I would have swore that you were greek, MY BAD for assuming things. But what non-greek can put someone can challenge someone they suspect is a perp. I stated a simple fact, there are some things that non-greeks are not in a position to comment on. You claim to know all these things about AKA and some of the other D9 orgs, good for you. Appreciate the sincere reply. I feel what you are saying. It still stands and shows that no out of the way comments were made up until other people brought things to the room that were out of the way. I'm not trying to drag you into something that's not real. How do you beef on the Internet with someone you don't know? This is not that serious at all to me. For those that take it to heart, I personally cannot speak for them. I'm learning as I go to pick and choose certain parts of comments and two step around questions.

First, I want to apologize to the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta for the interruption of this thread. I'm sure you understand that some issues have to be addressed and handled immediately. Let's try to get back on track.

Bajan I think you did the right thing. I don't think contacting a chapter to warn them about someone undermines the chapter's authority or calls into question the inquiry that they will conduct into the backgrounds of prospective members. I'd think that the chapter would be grateful that someone spoke up about a questionable prospective member. And because our members are so avid about checking backgrounds, they would likely already have a clue as to the people seeking membership.

I don't think that I could ever just sit by and let a questionable person come into the fold. Yes, the final decision is up to the chapter, but I would be bothered knowing that someone of bad character is coming into the fold and I didn't at least voice my concern.

It's like, what if you know someone had a background of defrauding and embezzling money from organizations that they've been in. Would you not say anything then? Or what if someone is a stripper or a call girl...would you still not say anything? These are extreme examples, but it is a slippery slope. Where is the line drawn? I know that if someone of this character was trying to come into AKA, I'd have to speak up. I guess it depends on each member's subjective idea of what is character bad enough to bar that person from membership. Either way, I don't think I could sit back and do nothing.
