It is the 2nd District Conference that is meeting here.

The number of sorors that register, as well as, those that do not register but attend will probably be more because of the geographical location of this National Convention. Philly is fairly close to the several regions, thus more sorors maybe inclined to come, IMO. I can't wait to get to Philly to see all my sorors!!!

I thought I wasn't able to make it, but Dear God, I'll be there (not for the entire time)! I can't wait. I couldn't miss this one, not being so close!

More Hotels Added

There are some new hotels listed on the national site. Also, wait list people will be sent emails telling them how to reserve a room..not at their wait list hotel however. Also stated, all registered members will get a room. One hotel, Comfort Inn is 1 mile from convention center and the other hotel is seven blocks.

But I don't think the room availability is still correct. It is really not about adding more hotels, but about reconfiguring the rooms in the other hotels. I still maintain that there is no way all of those hotels could have gotten completely booked with 24 hours. There are still many sorors who haven't even registered yet since the deadline is April 30.

Personally, I am not even considering a hotel that is a mile away. You will get stuck.

From what was told to me is that more blocks of rooms have been opened up.

The website just shows an addition of two hotels--one a mile away as previously said. But all the rest of the hotels still show up as booked for the whole duration of the convention.

The hotels that were added are now all booked. This is amazing.

I can believe it...Sorors were waiting for that day since they posted it.

treblk 04-02-2006 07:35 PM

I registered and booked my hotel room for me and two sorors. I can't wait! :D :D

Sorors since we are having approved headquarters hotels booked in one day for our 48th National Convention, what can we expect when we attempt to book a hotel for our centennial? I know that our centennial celebration is seven years away, but it would appear that our Centennial planning committee is going to have to book all double bed hotels in the DC, VA, and MD area. I just love my 300,000 Sorors.

You got that right. I shudder excitedly to even think about that. :)
