I thought the only good one tonight was Katharine McPhee. Everyone else was just ok for me. I think I'm the only one who doesn't think the 16-year-old is that great; she was so pitchy. I really like Katharine, though.

Katherine is surprisingly good!

My other faves for tonite: Lisa , Paris, and Mandisa.

Brenna was a little extra tonight, with all the posing ..I mean, it wasnt even cute!

Do we have any greeks on the Idol this year? I thought Mandisa put up her pinky finger after her performance..I could have been imagining it?

I totally feel the same way!! After the last girl performed Simon said there were 4 girls that came out and performed awesome tonight and I totally agree with him. The girls I liked the best were Mandisa, Paris, Lisa, and Katharine.

I can't wait to see the guys tomorrow!! I really do think that the guys group is better then the girls, but I guess we will see tomorrow.

I really dislike Lisa. I find her to be a bit assuming. She comes off as being a bit arrogant. There's just something I don't like about her...'

I really liked the way Paris made everyone want to get out of their seat & dance!

I too was a bit disappointed with the majority of the females tonight.

I like Lisa, mostly because she doesn't give off that "Look at me! I'm 16!" vibe Diana DeGarmo did. That was a pretty ballsy song choice.

Katharine does nothing for me. I don't like her voice, I don't get why she's all that great, and I really don't get why she's getting the judge adoration unless it's to protect their real favorites down the road. Give me Mandisa, Lisa or Paris any day.

I felt really bad for Stephanie Scott. That performance was just all kinds of train wreck.

I thought Paris was the best by far last night.

I wanted to slap Brenna b/c that attitude/personality crap she's trying to pull is just annoying as hell and doesn't win her any points.


Overall, the women were disappointing.

Paris' and Mandisa's performance were the only ones I remember from last night. Lisa is good... but has a subtle cockiness to her, I think.

I enjoy Paris more out of the youngins. I understand the Fantasia comparison... but don't agree with it. Paris is much more pleasant to listen to over a long period of time. Sad thing is that they'll try to make her a hip hop artist if she wins. She'd be good as a blues singer.

Hope the boys are better. After the montage of them, I am not holding out for much.

Dear God so far the boys are crap-tastic. And man are they not very appealing image-wise. Somebody please give Bucky a shower, shave and haircut. He looks like they pulled him out of the dumpster out back.

The very vast majority of these guys do not have anything mass-market appeal about them.
