At any rate, there has been zero proof who most of the sock puppets are. Even though I think that 90 percent of regular posters know who the Grapist is, it's all based on assumption. There's never been any proof. And honestly, I would be suspicious of any "proof" a source offers up because people like valkyrie and GeekyPenguin have been accused (by people who were very, very sure) of being behind things that I know for a fact they had no part in. It's all just speculation. And the problem with accusing someone of being a sock puppet is that even if they weren't involved, they have no way of proving it.

At any rate, I'm not sure why people are so upset about ANY of this. Say it with me, kids: It's just the internet.

As a long time GC member who tends to post only sporadically, I must say that I really enjoy all the silliness. And even some of the snarkiness. C'mon, admit it - all the high-drama, name-calling, soap opera stuff can be downright hysterical. As a collective group, GC members seem prone to temper tantrums (followed by Random Acts of Thread Deletion). All the insanity is entertaining. ;)

The only stuff I would change is:
1. The a**holes who use GC to harass or stalk people. That's not cool. Get a life!
2. Idiot spammers whose first (and usually only) post is "Come see my new website selling overpriced crap!"
3. The drive-by morons who just post one million posts with the same thing and clog up the boards.

So go ahead, all you close-minded, opinionated, drug-addicted, grammatically-challenged, short-tempered jerks with weird sexual fetishes! Post away! You are entertaining the rest of us.

I thought the original poster was talking about people making new screen names to voice opinions on different subjects or go into the rush forum and offer their advice without anyone knowing who it was... Gluestick, Sheetcake and all those people crack my $hit up.... nothing like scrolling down and seeing the grapist attack a thread...
