As I said in one of the yahoo groups it looks like I will not be going to convention this year... I am moving across the country less the 2 weeks after convention so money is a bit tight for then... But oh well, maybe in 2 more years I will finally get to go...

I say I am going to go to every one, but then something always comes up. Maybe every other convention I can attend. I'm only going this time b/c the Denver AA won the Inez Coppom award and I will be representing us in the business meetings.

I'm really bummed that I had to cancel my plans to attend this year. My husband is still recovering and out of work... :( I really can't complain tho - I've gone to the past 4 (+2 VLS) courtesy of the chapter I advise. This year, another advisor is going. Only fair. (still :( , but fair)

HEY - Grab the photographer's attention when you are all together!! Gotta get a picture of that into the Convention photos in the Adelphean!! Oh, that would be great!!

Babysitters lined up to take care of my kids while Hubby's at work. Flights have been booked. Reservations made. Still need to do some clothes shopping though.

I'm almost ready to go!

I hope I get the chance to meet some of you ladies in person.

Zillini-
you might actually meet me at the airport. I'm volunteering to be an airport greeter. :)

Absolutely - we'll have to get a GC Convention picture! :)

Zillini 06-01-2005 10:37 AM

Sounds like a plan to me! Maybe someone could post a time and place for a pic on the message board at Convention. Who knows, we might even be able to get it in the Adelphean.

To the voting delegates going -

Did you guys get the form that we have to fill out and get notarized? I'm a little suprised by the legality of it and I dont even know how to go about getting something notarized or finding the time to do it!

I got mine today - I have an email in to EO to find out what type of information they're looking for for the "acting under the following written authority"...I asked an IO I know if she knew what that meant and she had no clue. Luckily we have a family friend that is a notary, so I'm not too concerned about that, just about getting the required information so I can get this notarized and sent off.

I'm not sure where I've seen it before, but I know that I've seen little storefronts that have done notary services - so maybe this weekend? Good luck!

You can also try going to the bank, some of them have notary's on hand. They'll cost you though (especially if you don't bank at that particular bank).

You can also ask around, b/c you never know who is a notary. Practically anyone can be a notary as long as they fill out the appropriate paperwork. I know several.

Also, I was a bit surprised about the formality & legality of voting as well. Not that it is a bad thing. The bylaws are a legal document so if they need to be changed then there definitely has to be a formal process.

If you are a member at a Credit Union, check there. Most financial instutions have notaries. I'm a notary at a Credit Union and we never charge our members for notarizing any documents.
