Then most likely you're mad at me, actually I know for sure you are because I'm basically the only person that watches over these pages.

To keep all of the other NPC greek pages and more specifically the notable alumnae/alumni from getting huge and adding people that just aren't really notable I delete all alumni that are 'redlinked' and do not references. Why? Because it takes my time and energy to go through and slowly find references for each and every one of these alumni, if I can just immediately delete somebody who doesn't already have an article that's less work for me.

So many people like to claim so and so is apart of their organization, when they're really not notable at all. So somebody published a book on LuLu does that make them notable? Not really, but a lot of people try to claim that. If I do this, delete all redlinked articles and add references to every one, for every article then it's hypocritical to leave somebody in for ASA's.

Even though it kills me to delete somebody who's from my own chapter, Dorcas Reilly, because I think that's just awesome and I think everybody should know.

So there ya go.

My "Spanish Word of the Day" today made me laugh:

pan, noun
bread; loaf

What do you think of when you think of bread? To many Spanish speakers, regular pan is a crusty loaf of what English speakers would call French bread. A chunk of crusty bread is often eaten with a meal and una barra de pan (a French loaf) is used to make un bocadillo (a sandwich made with French bread). The Spanish words for sliced bread are pan de molde, and this kind of bread would be used to make un sandwich (also a sandwich, but one made with sliced bread).
There’s a Spanish expression llamar al pan pan y al vino vino, which corresponds to to call a spade a spade (word for word: to call bread bread and wine wine).
There’s another expression involving bread that you can use to describe a person physically, estar más bueno que el pan (to be gorgeous - literally, to be better than bread) and if something goes on overlong, you can refer to it as más largo que un día sin pan - literally, longer than a day without any bread.

I just bought my first set of letters for myself! http://www.gonegreek.com/ The shirt on the front page. :)

The ISHT is about to hit the fan. I realize that my cowork is pissed because her hours were changed, but that doesn't have anything to do with me. Seriously, stop being a bitch. And this "NOT MY JOB, NOT MY JOB" crap is not cutting it. There is no intern or secretary here. Things like calling in lunch and stamping the mail and other menial tasks are things that everyone needs to take care of their own self on. AlphaFrog is just about done biting her tounge...and my coworker (besides one mild comment I made - to which she was pissed for a week about, if that gives you any context) is about to see what AlphaFrog is like when she's pissed.:mad::mad:

School starts tomorrow. I'm excited! But of course, one does begin to wonder: where does summer go?

Cute ladybug truffles

I was looking for a gift for someone at school and ran across these ladybug truffles. I immediately thought ASA, and was then instantly jealous my org doesn't have something similar. They're not available at the moment, but if they ever came back...

Hahahaha...welcome to recruitment from the other side!

udASA 09-18-2007 03:24 PM

What is "Hello from Alpha Sig" ?? A song? We are always trying to find a better song to sing at recruitment events, the one we sing now is kind of forgettable.

cuteASAbug 09-18-2007 03:38 PM

since you asked

Hello from Alpha Sig (do an exxagerated wave)
Come in and you will see (do a come in gesture with your hands)
We've got the pep and style (start clapping)
That lasts you all the while
Although the others may shine so bright
You'll find that we're just right
So come in and you will see
We're saying Hello from Alpha Sig
Come in and you will see.... (repeat until all of the PNM's are inside)
