Fugly, kinda. They just took the preppy thing to major extremes. Maybe it's a tradition down there?
Edit: A quick search found this picture from last year, so you get an idea of what I'm working with here. Edit AGAIN: I guess Webshots isn't a big fan of you stealing their bandwidth, so if you really care, here's the link to the picture. |

Wow, i have had fun reading this thread and seeing just how off base almost everyone is on their interpretations of southern preppy. The bottom line is that most people from other parts of the country just will not ever get it. For the southern lady or gentleman from an old family; dressing is about presenting youself with class and not wearing "fashion" clothes from brands such as Abercrombie, Hollister etc. Most people on here will say that wearing button down shirts, pleated chinos , loafers, short shorts and croakies makes southern men look like old men, and that is just fine because like I said most of these posters just will never get it. It is especialy funny to read peoples reactions to things like the state flag/confederate flag motif belts etc. Its like it blows people's minds haha. I wish i could find a good picture of this sort of thing because i think that some on here truly cannot picture this.

Who says that? I realy dont understand why you would say that. where is that written down? You are making my point for me. People just dont get it. I'm sorry if we are different, but that dosent make us wrong. |

I dont think that the model in the pictures posted by KillarneyRose looks too bad, I dont think he is hiding an extra 15 pounds in thoes pleats. In fact I believe that thoes picture are taken from the Polo website, the top picture being the Andrew shorts I think, which is exactly what I wear on a regular basis. Nothing wrong with the longer ones I just prefer the shorter inseam.

kroakies are important
they keep the sunglasses from falling off when you're on a boat or jetski, etc. why all the hate? Just because we don't understand doesn't mean we don't care. (reverse homer) |
