Bid Day is on Tuesday. We get our invites for pref tomorrow, which is later that evening. I don't know when I'll post on Bid Day, I may sneak home for a minute, or even have my Dad post! I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I think my decision will be relatively easy, unless one of the houses I'm liking cuts me, then I'll go to the ones that are left. I'll let you know!

Well, here goes. I just got back from getting my invite. Yes, singular. The only house to invite me back was Gryffindor, the house I cut yesterday! Needless to say, I'm fairly upset. All three houses I went to yesterday cut me. And I figure now that I'm only preffing one house, I'll name names.
Gryffindor = Alpha Phi
Slytherin = Gamma Phi Beta
Ravenclaw = Delta Gamma
Hufflepuff = Delta Delta Delta

So, tonight, I go to Alpha Phi. I hope it goes well, since the second party I went to there didn't. You can list up to three houses on your pref card, which I will, but at this point, I'm not sure who or what order I will put them in. I thought I knew who my favorite was, but they cut me, and now I'm not so sure. What are the odds of me putting a house 1st on my pref card that cut me and then getting into that house? I would figure not very good. Anyway, any advice or opinions are welcome, as my thoughts are completely scattered right now.

Alpha Phi is still a great organization and, even though you may think that it's not 100% the right match, look at how many ladies on GC accepted their 3rd or 4th choice and are still happy!
The only thing I can say, having no real experience with recruitment, is to give them a chance, clear your mind and allow their pref to seep in fully. If you absolutely cannot stand them, maybe there can be COB?

Hey hun. My advice--

Go to Alpha Phi tonight and see how it goes. If you are just NOT feeling a connection, don't put them on your pref card--but then, you may or may not get a bid. If you rank all the sororities on your pref card (if you'd feel fine accepting a bid from any), then you can do that. I don't think the odds of getting a bid to a place you were cut from is extremely high--do we have any Green Book experts here? I'm assuming a bid like that would have to be a snap bid.

I have no green book expertise at all but I agree. If I was you, that is what I would do.
