My daughter's learning how to play the flute now. :)

I played the upright bass, in 7th grade.

...now, I fool around with the piano/keyboard. I play a pretty funky C-scale if I do say so, myself.

None, my parents couldn't afford the rental fee when I was in elem. school. I wanted to play the flute. :(
ETA: funny thing now that I think about it b/c my sister and I took ballet from the time that we were in elem school well into college. So I guess they weren't all bad ... and cheap. LOL.

Oh well, I guess I could always learn to play an instrument now. :)
I heard that some of them can cause your bottom lip to split a little. Is that true?

Soror SC,

The flute I had was a Bundy. I played it from 3rd-8th grade. I never got a split lip from all of those years. Hope that helps.

Piano...but then my piano teacher had a heart attack (and dropped dead) while giving me my lesson and I could never play again. I was 6 y/o when this happened.

I played the recorder, flute and piano for many many many years. I'm not nearly as good as my brothers, one of whom has been playing the steel pan since he was 3. The other one has been playing the piano since he was 4. I'm the loser of the bunch:(

that must have been awful! Now i feel bad about all those lessons i took when i WISHED the instructor would drop dead. awwwww.

The recorder (lol I think we ALL had to play that thing in elementary school), the flute, piccolo (basically same as flute), and a little guitar (acoustic)
