HC, Soror Ideal, you're "moving to DC" thread had me reminscing about DC.
HC I decided to call up an old friend/boyfriend. HC this negro is up in his apartment right now drinking beer. HC I was like, Uh...Eric...what time is it there? HC he was like...oh it's 2:30pm...and just got finished smokin' on some :eek: HC I was like...uuuuhhhhh Boo! HC this negro has a BA degree from Howard, Masters from Johns Hopkins...is drawing unemployment...and inbibing in alchohol and :eek: in the middle of the afternooon...on a MONDAY. HC :confused: HC thank you Lord, for leading me in a positive direction in my life. HC, Soror Ideal, I've been "missing" living in DC for a while now, but after that phone call, that "feeling" is GONE! |

HC I did have my talk with monkey (my name that tired arse brotha in my study group)?
HC before everyone went home, I aksed him if he could stay after for a minute so that I could talk to him? HC this negro said...."ummm, why? I already have a woman"? HC I was like :eek: ? HC then :mad: ? HC double :mad: ? HC then :eek: again, because I was thinking "I KKNNNOOOOWWWW this monkey don't think that I want him?" HC oh heck no? HC they don't even have a "smilie" to portray my feelings on that statement? HC a sistah remained calm though, even though she wanted to straight break out a KEG of whoop a$$ on him right then and there!!!? HC I told him, first off, I had a man, and secondly, I don't remotely see you that way so you can slow your roll on that one? HC I then told him that I felt like there was some unnecessary tension between him and I? HC he was like how so? HC I asked he why did he ALWAYS feel the need to start a debate everytime I opened my mouth to say something? HC was like he doesn't do it on purpose, he just finds fault with a lot of things I say? HC I told him that one component of debating was having facts to back up what you say, and not just what you PERSONALLY think?HC he was just like well, whatever? HC this was his response to pretty much everything? HC whatevery my behind? HC our talk was pretty much useless since this monkey wasn't really trying to hear what I had to say? HC I bet if it was one of the white girls talking to him, he would be all attentive? HC although nothing really got resolved, I know his intent and will be ready to take this dispute on to the next administrative step in order to get it resolved? HC he just don't know.....? HC I got a call from a publishing company HC their editorial internship PAYS HC :D HC okay it only pays like 7 bucks an hour HC that's way better than NOTHING. |

HC the volunteer manager for that group stopped by the office yesterday looking for me? HC I was out? HC I came in as she was there? HC she was sitting at a table with my boss? :mad: HC I KNEW she didn't have no business over there? HC I walk over to talk to her, and I hear my boss discussing what will be done after I'm gone? HC I lightweight got an attitude? HC she did NOT need to tell her that I was leaving? HC I wanted to tell her myself? :mad: HC this volunteer is one of my few Black ones, and I had bonded with her? HC I just felt like that was MY news to share? HC what ticks me off about it is that she didn't even ask to see my boss? HC my boss heard that she was downstairs and took it upon herself to go down and talk to her? HC that right there is one of the reasons I'm up outta this piece? HC she could not just wait until I went to my meeting a few hours later? HC after my meeting, I sat down with my volunteer to talk with her? HC she immediately asked me if the problem was my boss? HC everyone knows how she is? HC that is a trip? HC I was sad that I had to tell them I was leaving? HC that's the part of my job that I truly love? HC I realized today that this really had become my home? HC I'm going to miss so many people here? :( HC not so much that I'd stay, though, lol? |
