Depends on where you are talking about... the only traveling that I do is in South Carolina... 123, to some back woods [the number has slipped my mind], to I-85 .... and back! From 6-7am and from 3:30-4:30pm. ... was it me?! [probably not since I don't remember waving at anyone.. oh well.lol] heehee I LOVE seeing AXO's whereever I go. It's so much fun. I'm like, 'dude, i don't know you.. but whats up', gives you an opportunity to meet people that you otherwise wouldn't have. :)

Oh and aggieAXO, that house sounds AMAZING!! Congratulations!

Highs: Yesterday I helped out a friend w/ her wedding invitations. She's making them all by hand and I just love being crafty. My eval at work was this week and I was a little nervous b/c I still haven't completed a project that my boss gave me 3 years ago (not as bad as it sounds - it's not a major project, just something she thinks would be nice to have). But she didn't nag me about it and I had a very good eval. The percent increase for my salary wasn't quite what I hoped, but in this economy, I'm just glad to be getting a raise! :)

Lows: Hmmm, nothing really too low. I'm really ready to go on vacation, but w/ my and my boyfriend's schedules, I don't think we'll be able to go until September. But since we're planning to go to the beach, I guess that's good b/c at least it will be cheaper!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Highs: I got to work on a vulture tonight-he was neat looking

lows: he smells really bad because some asshole human shot him and the area is infected F**KING People

justamom 06-18-2003 08:41 AM

Sound like all is well in AXO land!!! Houses-BFs-VULTURES!!!
I have to say, I think vultures are one of the UGLIEST birds I've EVER seen!!! LOL! However, somebody has to think they're wonderful!

aggieAXO , I've heard of plant that cats can't stand the smell of and it keeps tem way from birds. Any idea what that might be? We are losing birds right and left to this cat that has adopted our neighborhood. (Very sweet cat but a killer.) We have a birdfeeder and the doves are sitting prey. Hubby is about to call animal control but I know the cat would be destroyed...:(

Highs-Daughter is having a blast with her summer job. She wants me to fly to DC and meet up with her friends. She is taking them to the airport to fly back to their respective countries. Then we would drive home together.
My son and his GF broke up!!! I know it sounds awful that I'm happy about this, but she was smothering him and playing mind games. Not to mention HER Mom's mentality just about had them walking down the isle!

Lows-Son turned 19 today. Hope he stays safe tonight since I know they will "celebrate". He is gone so much that we have to plan out time for all three of us to be together. Countdown for college is 63 days. :(

aggieAXO 06-19-2003 08:05 AM

JAM,

I can't think of a plant that fits that description unfortunately. Stray cats are a huge problem, they are wiping out colonies of birds left and right and this problem has caused a slight rift among bird veterinarians-who want to get rid of free roaming/stray cats and shelter veterinarians-who want to capture stray cats neuter them and then let them out again to roam and this will lead to killing more birds. Even some rodent and rabbit species are suffering. I wish I had an easy answer but even the experts are still out on this one. Maybe you can put a collar with a bell on him (if you can catch/touch him). I love cats but I also love birds-it is a difficult situation. Many people don't think about humans also causing the extinction of bird species (and thousands of other species of animals/insects/fish/plants) due to destruction of their normal habitat so cats aren't the only guilty ones. There are some people I wish I could haul off to a shelter :).

I know it is hard when the children grow up and go off to school-my mother still has a hard time adjusting and I have been out of the house since I was 18. I see her every month though as she is only 1.5 hrs away. I also talk to her almost everyday-I still need my mommy :).

justamom 06-19-2003 08:38 AM

Thanks for the insight! We have a ton of development going on around us. Years ago we would spot a deer now and then. We haven't seen the fox in a couple of months. We do have some beautiful birds that live around us, but the loss of habitat is really taking a toll. The cat is tame, it just didn't like its owner and moved to our street. It's killing frogs, lizards and squirrels as well. It prefers that to cat food. It did have two collars, but slipped out of them. The owner just gave up.

I have heard ammonia and cayenne pepper work...until it rains.

Your Mommy misses you too! Due to my daughter's job, she can't call like she did in the past. I "hear" from her on the weekends.
She sends letters and those are great!

axotiger 06-23-2003 10:59 AM

Highs
I finally heard from my boyfriend in Missouri. I hadn't gotten a letter in 2 weeks, [which was odd, going from 3/week to none/week] THen again the kids just got there, so i completely understand... it's just hard though. Anyway, he called on Friday, they were coming back from taking the kids camping [and the cell phone had been out of range]. We chatted for about 20 min, and I informed him that it was HARD to keep being up-beat and happy and encouraging in the letters, when I don't hear from him. He was like, i'm so sorry, but these kids are a 24/7 job.. but you know how much you mean to me. yay. SO that's cool. I was like, i dont care if you send 3 letters a week, how about one... it only has to be 4 lines:
Hi stevie,
I'm alive and well.
your boyfriend,
dave

Lol, is that too much to ask for?

- also went on saturday with FCA [fellowship of christian athletes] to feed the homeless in Atlanta... that was an experience. Definitely opened my eyes, and I'm thankful for that.

Lows
VERY low... I found out on Friday that my ex-boyfriend's mom died of breast cancer. My ex-boyfriend from home... prom date, dated off and on through high school, still keep in touch. He's in the marines and was overseas and came home early to... well, pretty much... wait for his mom to pass on. Can you imagine coming home for THAT reason?! I'm so sad taht I wasn't there... however I AM going home onthe 4th of july weekend, so I can see him then. I sent a card already... it took me about an hour to write it out. One of the sad things [for me] is that he saw my best friend a week ago [or more] at the mall, and he was like, 'hey where's my girl?' and she goes, 'huh?' and he goes, 'you know who im talking about', and she goes, 'oh, stevie' is'nt coming home this summer' [that was before she knew]... and he was like... 'oh well, tell her i said hi when you talk to her next'. :(

It's been a rough 2 weeks back home in Jersey... two mothers die in two weeks of breast cancer!! And add that to not hearing from my boyfriend in the same 2 weeks... I was pretty sad.

----------------
But I'm ok now, I'm just waiting to go home!

justamom 06-23-2003 01:08 PM

axotiger , I'm really sorry to hear about this. The sad part about getting older is death. Each year see more and more people die-it never decreases. I would bet your letter meant a lot. Flowers fade, but the written word in these instances will always be treasured. It will NOT be thrown away. One day, when he is feeling very low, he may reach for that letter and find comfort once again.

aggieAXO 06-25-2003 01:09 AM

Stevie,

I am so sorry for all the sad events that are occuring in your life rt. now. It seems like at times"when it rains it pours". Keep your chin up and know we are thinking about you :)

Karen

axotiger 06-25-2003 08:14 AM

Hey guys, thanx!! :) That's really encouraging.
I'll make it through, and I'll keep my head high!!
Hope that all your weeks are going GREAT!!

justamom 06-25-2003 08:30 AM

WHY DOES SHE KEEP CALLING!

She calls and calls...He has gone over to see her. I think he can't stand to see her hurt so that is a good thing I guess. I answered the phone and she had been crying.:(
Funny thing-I've got a letter from my old HS boyfriend. He gave it to me right before I left for college. I thnk I will let my son read it so he will know I DO understand how he feels.

Highs-Work is going great. Our assistant is good and I enjoy being around her. Luncheon today and going to prepare for a Madhatter gathering next month.
Lows-My house looks like a tornado ran through it!!! Son has crap spread from end to end. Hubby is a mess. A BIG MESS!
Boy is it HOT! Son got laid off his summer job. They didn't have enough kids sign up for the program this year. All the kids who weren't students were let go. Who would hire him for 6 weeks???

I get an anxious feeling when I see how fast the time is flying. It's uncomfortable, like waiting for something to happen but not knowing if it's good or bad.

axotiger 06-27-2003 10:16 AM

HIGHS
- My best friend / ex boyfriend [odd, i know] visited wed and thurs... well his little brother is coming to Clemson, so my ex came to meet his brother and Dad here. JUST TO SEe ME.. yay.
- My boyfriend called last night out of the blue!!

LOWS
- Ok, my best friend keeps bringing up how 'he scrwed up' when he broke up with me last summer... it made sense to me [the breakup] iw as in NJ an dhe was in Florida, summer is 3 months, and we'd only been dating for like 1.5 months. ANYWAY, he KEEPs bringing it up... but in a joking way. He also wants me to visit him in Maine [where him and his family go every summer], he claims that I'll be putty in his hands ...dork!

- On the phone last night, my boyfriend was saying how he's had concerns with out relationship [oh joy]. So we got into a disscussion, about how he doesnt want to hurt me, and he still really cares about me, and how he's sorry that he has't written in THREE WEEKS. [when i write like 3 a week] And I tell him that if i got 4 days w/o a letter, i begin to lose heart. I dunno, the conversation did encourage me... to a bit, but it was also a little disheartening. Because he was like, ya know we'll have to see what God wants out of our relationship, if we grow closer by being apart, then that's what will happen, but if we grow apart... then that's what God wants... And I'm like.. WHAT ABOUT WHAT WE WANT? Horrible, I know... but I get frustrated.

Ok, wow, sorry I'm rambling & ranting. I've got to wait to we all get back in August. My ex is in Maine, and my current is in Missouri [and thanx to me, they are friends now...lol]

BOYS ARE SILLY:p

justamom 06-27-2003 02:15 PM

Just a joke I had to share-

We are all ages here and it doesn't matter WHY our hormones go crazy, we all just KNOW that at times they DO!

Women and Hormones...

Q: How many women with PMS does it take to change a light bulb?

A: One! ONLY ONE!!!! And do you know WHY? Because no one else in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb! They don't even know that the bulb is BURNED OUT!! They would sit in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it out. And, once they figured it out, they wouldn't be able to find the light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CUPBOARD for the past 17 YEARS! But if they did, by some miracle of God, actually
find them ,2 DAYS LATER the chair they dragged to stand on to change the STUPID light bulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!!!!! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE WRAPPER THE LIGHT BULBS CAME IN!!! BECAUSE NO ONE ! EVER CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE!!!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED FROM THE PILES OF GARBAGE THAT ARE A FOOT DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE!! IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS HOUSE!

I'm sorry.... What did you ask me?

axotiger 06-27-2003 02:48 PM

:D :D :D :D :D

That's great... I needed that!! Nearly, bust out laughing right here in my cubicle!!!

axotiger 07-02-2003 08:09 AM

HELLO EVERYBODY... man you guys are going to get a kick out of what has happened to me in the past weekend... I got NO sleep, lost a tire, realized mechanics are retarded [no offense any mechanics out there], and broke my shoe... here goes:
[warning... LONG]

Friday - no sleep, well that was my fault, since I went downtown and was up til 515
Saturday- retarded car - go to get my car that we dropped off friday night because of some rattleing. I rode with some guy and pointed out the noise on tuesday. So these guys never called us, so my brother and i go to the mall and stop by... THEY ARE CLOSED. On the webpage they are open til 5, on the door til 2, and somewhere else, til 4.... so we go at 230.. and they're closed. So we get the manager and he gets our car, and informs us that they couldn't find the problem... and they couldn't find hte guy that rode with me on tuesday. I was like, are you f-in kidding me?! I mean, the guy told me what to write down for these dumb people, and they STILL didn't get it. I was aggravated, so my car is STILL screwed up... then that night: I was planing on going to bed early, and getting up for church, so i didnt go out. Besides, i was tired. So i'm cross-stitchinga nd watching tv, around 1130, my roommate [jenn] comes in and is like... i can't breathe... i was like.. um ok. And she goes, and my jaw hurts, i go.. well sit down and drink some water, but she doesnt', and she tries to breathe DEEPER, which she can't do so she flips out. The muscles in the neck tense up, her shoulders hurt [they are attached to the neck and the jaw muscles]... so i was like.. are you ok? she goes yeah, so i wait a bit, and around 1230 i go wash my face and brush my teeth, i'm exhausted. Well 5 min later, she comes and goes, we need to go to the hospital. [GREAT]. So i drive there and we get there at like 1250. I'm there til 445am!!! The waiting room was cold as anything... the doctor was like.. um you could have had an anxiety attack etc etc. I think she was over exagerating [i'd be a terrible doctor, i'd be like.. whatever, you're faking go home..lol] But yeah... that was a nice long night. she's fine- had she listened to me to begin with, it would have been fine.
Sunday- I was coming home from the pool and i'm on my road [thankfully] and i look in my rear-view mirror... and i see a tire bouncing down the road. I was like... umm all 4 of mine work. Then it hit me [a thought, not the tire] it's my SPARE TIRE. So I speed up, turn into my place, hop out of my car[in a bathing suit and a towel] and look under my car... no tire. So i look down the road thinking I gotta run and get it... NOPE, here it comes, bouncing down the stinkin' road. So I'm running in the street, and it turns and i htink it'll stop in the cudzoo by the train track, ... nope, it goes in and turns again to the road and keeps on going. So i have to chase it down. At this time a guy drives up and helps me get my tire and puts it in my car. I mean honestly, had that happened on the highway ... that i drive everyday, i could have caused a major freakin accident. Later that day: I start to play on my computer and decide to put some pictures on line , so i didnt get to bed til 11. I'm laying down, it's kinda hot so my fan is on. Then I realize that i forgot to plug my phone in... right as i plug it in... my buddy Matt calls from maine. He's like i'm in maine, sitting on a lifeguard stand looking out at the lake, it's beautiful, you should come visit.. yadayada. we chat for about 30 min. Then I get off. Then I lay down again, and toss and turn, i turn off my music, turn off my fan, Then my phone rings again at 12 and it's my boyfriend in Missouri and I get off the phone at 1. And then after that, I kept tossin' and turnin'. Still I managed to get up at 515 on monday though.
Monday - I walk into the office, and say good morning to the guard, and promptly lose my shoe. I just stepped out of it. The little metal thing in the buckle, that holds it all together, BROKE. So i end up hobbling down the cooridoor with one shoe [high heeled] on, and one in hand, A salad in my other hand, and a bag over my shoulder, and my company badge in my hand. However, I did somewhat fix it using a hairthing and a paperclip.. haha, don't ask. ... [around 2:15pm] You would have thought that God found everything funny enough... guess not. because walking down the hall, my OTHER shoe breaks!! I was walking back from bringing the security tapes down to the office... and I walked out of the OTHER shoe. Some woman was like, apparently the warranty ran out.. LOL!! True though. What are the odds that they both break in the SAME day. So I'm standing there, with people walking all around, I can't go barefoot because it's work casual... I mean honestly -- so i find a clip, and manage 5 steps before it breaks again and I put the clip back on. At least I'm good at ghetto-fying them... I mean, repairing them!! lol

---------------------
Other than that, I'm great!! I'm going home for the 4th of july, the only chance i get... YAY
