Ohhh, I have a good one!
MAY |
A lot of the movies that disturb me are mentioned. 8mm, Seven, the Shining, The Ring, Requiem of a Dream, Stigmata.
One that scared the $hit out of me when I was a kid was a movie called Cat's Eye. There was this little demon that came out of the wall at night that had me totally terrified and the cat sucked out peoples breath. Also a scene with a pigeon that terrified me, which brings me to another terrifying film The Birds. I have had a phobia of birds ever since. |
i would say that most david lynch films are disturbing - blue velvet, muholland drive, the elephant man, etc.
|
I love all the Kubric movies and Stephen King's It.
But man, no movies have ever affected me like "And the Band Played On." Session 9 and Jeepers Creepers came close. |
The Life of David Gayle
The Others-- I haven't even seen the whole thing, but the parts I did see freaked me out. |
Gotta go with Requim for a dream... SERIOUSLY disturbing can deifnitely take off your rose colored glasses REAL fast...
Pumpkin disturbed me too... not AS much as Requim.. but still disturbing.. Let's see here... Ohh what's that movie called about the reality show where people are trying to kill each other ??? THAT movie was disturbing... Monster's Ball kinda disturbed me as well... I was just like  through out the whole thing plus.... some of billy bob's prostitute action just kinda got to me.... just a little graphic.. |
I just watched Feardotcom last night... that movies was WAY disturbing!
It was disturbing how awful it was and how it made no sense and was just like someone saw the Ring and wanted to do a cheesy rip-off. It was disturbing how such an awful movie can get made and distributed. Most of all, it was disturbing how I actually shelled out about $3.50 to rent it. |

2 words muhlholland drive..........it will change the way you see movies its the strangest most disturbing movie i have ever seen. i had to look on the internet to figure out what the hell was going on

In the course of the past week I have been subjected to several movies that featured the height of 80's-ness: Staying Alive (sequal to Saturday Night Fever), Perfect and Wall Street. It disturbs me that when I saw these movies in the theater I thought they were really, really cool (and I was really, really skinny and young :( )

Off the top of my head, I can only think of Fight Club.

Agreed, it's [imaginatively titled] sequel Ring 2 (aka erm Ringu 2 I guess) is also surprisingly good. Much to make you jump in it :).I heard there was a Ringu 3 but can't confirm.

"Blue Velvet" was just plain weird!
|
I would have to say was one of the most disturbing films I've seen. It was also very disgusting. I could never understand how kids could behave in that manner.
I've also seen Sophie's Choice. For me it was very sad, but I can honestly say I was not that disturbed by the choice she faced. I don't want anyone one to think I'm a cold-hearted B****, but it just didn't affect me the same way my mother told me it affected her. She will never ever watch that movie again. I think it's because I am not a mother that I don't truely understand the situation that she was placed in. Perhaps if I watch it again as a mother I will have a different reaction. |
