When we got to BET studios yesterday we were informed that a barage of complaints through e-mails and phone calls about "unfairness" caused BET to allow the SGRhos to step in the finals...

I have to commend the Ladies of Delta for putting on an excellent show yesterday(airing tonight), you will be proud of their performance.

But of course, I am Z PHIIIing my lil blue self off at our win. I am sooooo very proud.

Also regardless of who won or lost I believe that all of the teams represented their Sorority or Fraternity well...but if BET is going to ask us to step again next year, they need to come with either a priZe, trophy, or donation to a Charity that we affiliate with....

JMO

Have a Blessed Day!

"Unfairness":confused:

Granted there might be some things that I'm not aware of but the Zetas where better the Sigma Gamma Rhos. Thats just my humble opinion.

The Rock 05-08-2002 03:48 PM

Well I felt all the teams stepped well.
As far as unfairness, well.... who knows..
Congratulations to all the teams that represented their organizations with their pride.

Let's keep the UNITY and begin to work more together in all areas we will all make so much more of a difference in all of our communities.

 How did they let the Zetas win. I thought that stepping was about talent not whose Sorority can yell the loudest!!!!!!

Innocence22 05-08-2002 07:19 PM

I commend all of the sororities for participating in the finals of the BET competition. All of the ladies did well (well, almost..SGRho why did the audience get real quiet?? People started holding conversations, And I think I heard booing!! ) Anyway, I don't mean to offend anyone but I swore that the Deltas were going to win. But both DST and ZPhiB did very well. After the decision some of DST's members looked "shocked" and kind pissed like WTH just happened. But still you ladies did a WONDERFUL job. :)

I guess according to BET, stepping is about how many people will vote in an internet poll, who can yell the loudest, and exactly how much they can attempt to pacify NPHC.

WE WERE ROBBED

what's up with the apollo style voting? there is no way in God's green earth that the zetas should have won. i have nothing bad to say about the sorority as a whole but i did not like their show! i'm from the south and we step a little different down here. there is more "crunk-ocity" and passion likened to the fire that my sorors of the 1913 Dream Team had when they stepped. they should have won. point blank. period.

who do i need to email is what i want to know. maybe the nypd because we were ROBBED!!!!

b.e.t. didn't let the zetas win. the divine 9 knew ahead of time the process to determine the winners of each preliminary and final round. i watched the show and truly think my sorors stepped better. however, chalk this up as a learning experience. i think the divine 9 allowed ourselves to be pimped by b.e.t. if/when they invite the divine 9 back next year, the answer should emphatically be "no". unless as someone suggested, they make a donation to the winning sorority or fraternity or to a charitable organization, supported by the winning fraternity and sorority.

congrats to the ladies of zeta phi beta sorority, inc.

Like I said stepping is about talent and not about yelling. However, if you feel your Sorors stepped better that's your opinion in which you are entitled. But in my opinion it should have been based on talent. That way the most talented step team would have won...DST!!!

CrimsonTide4 05-08-2002 09:55 PM

I reckon. . .

Damn I love all the hateration! Please keep it coming cause that's exactly the kind of energy that keeps the Blue and White Family in the win! As for yelling the loudest, that award would go to your Sorors. I was on stage, and it was a fact that their were more delta's (at least 15) in the audience than Zetas (about 5). So in actuality, you ladies "yelled" more loudly than we did".

Nothing has changed. Stepping is about talent. With 15 or so ladies of Delta Sigma Theta representing, the audience still felt that the most "talented" team were the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta.

I would however, recommend to BET next year that they go with a panel of greek judges representative of the Divine 9.

soror... to clear up things. there isn't a doubt in my mind that the 1913 dream team stepped better. there also isn't a doubt in my mind that the selected method of choosing a winner was downright stupid. however, the final results will remain the same. once again, maybe a host of necessary changes will be made for next year.
