Ah yes...I am waiting for you American girls to discover the Yoga wear of Lululemon...I think it's FINALLY tricking into the USA now (They have 3 stores now in the USA...all in California of course).
My personal favorite is the GROOVE PANT, shown here.

I loved black bitch pants. They always made a girl's ass look good.

I was reading this thread thinking the black pants to which this thread is referring are different from the ones they sell now. I had like 4 pairs of the black pants - all from Express, of course! - and I wore them ALL.THE.TIME. I loved those things. I even had shorts from Express that were the same material - one pair was all black, and the other pair was black w/ the white stripes down the side. Of course they were ultra-short. :)

We referred to them as "booty-pants." (As in, "What are you wearing tonight?" "Oh, my black booty-pants and a cute top." We wore them w/ sweaters in the winter and wah-lah! Badge attire.) Some of the fraternity boys I knew called them "f*@k-me pants."

I miss those things! Yes, mine are all now my workout or Yoga pants as well.

HA We called them "booty-pants" also! And I wore them as badge attire all the time. I even tried wearing them to work as "business casual" right after I graduated....yeah...i'm sure everyone took me seriously.

This thread needed to be bumped, so the newcomers could revel in its joy. :D

Good lord, this thread made me laugh. I remember those pants as I think I, and everyone I knew, owned those pants in college. Mine are long gone :)

Lululemon is great. They have a store in Chicago. Slowly it is making its way.

In the past year, Chip Wilson (the founder of Lululemon) sold it to an American company. I see that Lululemon is springing up all over the place in the States now. No matter, I really love their pants. :)

Can someone please bring these pants back?

Normally I hate having really old threads bumped, but I woke this morning thinking "god I miss girls wearing the black sorority pants..."

33girl 04-10-2009 10:39 PM

What's the equivalent now?

I am old and live in Pittsburgh, so sometimes I still break out the sorority pants when I need an elastic waist & just don't give a shit.

jessica.lanelle 04-10-2009 10:43 PM

ROFL! I totally had these when I was in college in 2000, and so did my sisters!

LucyKKG 04-10-2009 10:58 PM

I know I'm not the first person to ask this, but does anyone have a picture? The closest thing I can think of is the fuzzy pants people wear in a set with a zip up top and some own in a million colors, but I'm sure that's not right. I either don't know what these are because a) I'm a Californian (not likely) or b) this thread is 9 years old (more likely).

ETA: Omg I think I know what they are! There's a chick on What Not To Wear who's a welder...I think she was wearing some.

I have a sort-of pair of sorority pants that I got last year (can't remember the name of the store -- it was one of those boutiquey type places in the mall). They're not quite the yoga type from the early decade, but they have the flat front (waist is not elasticized) and the boot cut, and they're stretchy in ways that hug curves the right way while still staying on this side of classy.

LOVE these pants. I'm afraid I'll wear them out and won't be able to find another pair!

ZetaGirl22 04-13-2009 10:30 PM

O-M-G...............I am totally LOLing about this. Yup, I proudly sported my "sorority girl pants" from Express when I was a collegian............with either my platform sandals if it was warm out, or my thick soled, clunky boots if not.............god those were the DAYS!

Xidelt 04-14-2009 09:23 PM

When I was in undergrad, the official "going-out" outfit was sorority-girl pants, black ankle-zip boots, a french blue button-up blouse, and a silver beaded necklace. Pass the hunch punch, please!
