I was listening to Russ Par and Olivia Fox this morning and Olivia said that Brandy is indeed pregnant. She also quoted a statement made by Brandy from a recent interview. Brandy said (I'm paraphrasing) that she is very happy that she will be a mother and that it is something she has always wanted to be. The quote was a little longer, but that was the gist of it.

Brandy did not look pregnant at all on 106, so I'm guessing she's only a few months along. http://www.plaudersmilies.de/sad/nixweiss.gif

Yeah, the radio station down here announced it too, but they also played a recorded interview with Brandy stating about the incident with Kobe. She stressed that he was just a friend, but maybe she should have given him a chance. Indeed she is pregnant and married. She eloped with her new hubby and is going to have a wedding after the baby is due.

Everyone has been stating that Brandy and her new hubby will have an ug-mug baby, but I haven't spotted a picture of Mr. Smith (cause I, too, would like to see how the baby may look). If you've seen one, please post it here.

I thought that she looked very provocative. She kept emphasizing that she is a woman now. I'm wondering if she believes that womanhood is defined with "finding oneself", bearing children, and getting married.

Womanhood is so much more than that...it involves wisdom, integrity, and stability...and an ability to be composed and polished under pressure. Women are like diamonds...there are many imitators...but there are few quantities of the most pure thing.

On Thursday on ET, Brandy was shown attending an after-Grammy party. There was no mention of the hubby. She is VERY pregnant. She looks like she is at least 4 months, possibly 5 months.

My thoughts are, I wonder how long the marriage is going to last? Because isn't she only 22 or 23? I believe she is Waaaaaaaay to young for marriage, but what is done is done. I believe that she's just going through a phase, like we all did When we moved out of our parents house, and just KNEW WE WERE GROWN, BUT REALITY HIT, AFTER A GOOD MINUTE. SHE'S GOING TO SIMMER DOWN AFTER THE BABY COME, JUST WATCH, AND SEE. I think that if times start to get tough for her, she'll seek that advice, of other entertainer moms. But we ALLLLLLLL KNOW, MS NORWOOD, is GONE ALLLWAAAAYS WATCH HER GRAN-CHULLEN. and try to run their lives as well

Why are people already taking bets on how long this marriage will last? More importantly, why do you care?

There are people all over, including here on GC, who married before they were 22 or 23 and their marriages are still together and lasted. True there is a greater propensity for "celebrity marriages" to not last, but why are outsiders already pumping up the bad to happen. :confused: :confused:

My thoughts are this, RIGHT NOW Brandy is in love with her husband as he is with her; they are expecting their first child; neither Brandy nor her husband need our approval on anything.

I am also bothered by your statement: I think that if times start to get tough for her, she'll seek that advice, of other entertainer moms. What in the world does that mean? Brandy has always struck me as family oriented, so why would she consult her peers when she can consult her family and God.

Well said, well said!! This thread has been bothering me for awhile now. Does anybody on here know Brandy personally? Anybody know her husband or her mama? And I do mean PERSONALLY, not what you read or heard on television or in a magazine. I mean, please. The girl decided to get married and start a family. Regardless of the situations surrounding all that, it's basically her business. Who is anybody to say she's "acting like something she's not" when YOU DON'T KNOW HER? I get so sick of people being self-righteous.. I can't believe how judgemental people get when it comes to other folks' business, especially celebs. I hope the marriage lasts.. and it can if she will just continue to shake the haters off. ;)

You know I feel partially responsible about this thread taking a turn for the worst. I initially said long time ago I had a sick theory of Brandy being related to rats. Yes I said the girl looks like a rat. However I never attacked her personal choices to become married or start a family. I think if Brandy is happy then who cares. I know good and darn well Brandy is not worried about anything we are typing here at Greekchat (because if I were her, I wouldn't be), however something thats hard for other people to understand is that a celebrity is open to unfair criticism and ridicule. Notice I said unfair! What has been said about Brandy on this thread is based on very uneducated opinions. I can look at Brandy and see, hmmm she does resemble a rodent. I can't look at her and think, hmmmm she won't be married long. All of it is simply the same gossip and jokes you would here if you were talking to a friend. Its just here in print to seem exceptionally rude and innappropriate, hey maybe it is, but thats life. If Brandy comes on here then I will be the first to say sorry that I think you look like a rat.

My whole point or objective in stepping up and replying to Strobelitehoney's post was because it seemed like she is hoping that Brandy's marriage will fail which is just an out and out cruel thing.

We are pros at talking about folks -- take a look @ all of the DC threads, R. Kelly, MJJ and MJ, Celeb Dishes 1-4, etc. However, to come on here and wish another sista harm or misfortune in her marriage is a bit much. All of us are outsiders on everyone else's life but our own. Funny how WE are so good at finding fault in everyone else's life but our own.

I am not preaching, this is all IMHO but somewhere along the way this convo went from critiquing Brandy's look and sound to knocking this sista down for doing what she is doing -- marriage and motherhood.
