The site went down for a bit last night and I was at first like grr grr grr curse grr grr. But then I remembered he was probably installing the new magic so I apologized to the world for being so impatient. And I made a promise to myself to add in my 2 cents or 2 dollars right after I can do the same to my sorority foundation which hasn't seen any money from me in a while.

Tell us how you like those SSDs. I'm strongly considering them for my next system build.

I've never used these specific drives before, but they are the replacements to Intel SSDs that basically had the best reputation for reliability in web hosting. Intel doesn't seem to have the fastest SSDs (although these still are amazingly fast) but they are the most reliable. The Intel S3700 SSD drives that we'll be using have power loss data protection as well as very high write endurance which is needed for web hosting.

I'm sure you would be happy with these exact drives or even one of their other models. Samsung 840 & 840 Pro SSDs are also very nice. I believe one of the faster SATA type SSDs. Although, AFAIK, they do not have power loss data protection.

At some point I'll switch over to SSD on my main computer, plan to use either Intel or Samsung.

I've used the older Intel x-25e drives and was very impressed with them. So far that was the only SSD that I've personally tested.

I wasn't doing any work last night which could have caused that. We getting close to the busiest time of year for GC, so maybe the site was overloaded or trouble again with the current server. Shouldn't be long before I have the new server online, I expect to be running GC from it by the end of the month.

No worries. I needed to do something more productive with my life anyway. For a few minutes at least!
