(Though you know if it had been Etta James being discussed, Dr.Phil . . . And I'm just glad to see a post from you.) |

Did we discuss the Glen Miller (Mack Gordon/Harry Warren) original in the Etta James has died thread? |

You all go create an "I Will Always Love You" thread like we did for "At Last." |

Yes, I'm perfectly aware of who wrote it and sang it first. HOWEVER, I was not going off the original version (nor do I prefer it) so I choose to have pro-Whitney leanings in the Whitney thread. Is that too much to ask, people? It's not like I'm putting any wire hangers in your closets. |

We've had the "Whitney v. Dolly" discussion surrounding "I Will Always Love You" on GC before, I know this because Dr. Phil and I had to agree to disagree, and she hates that. |
^^^I remember a similar discussion in the thread about how remakes suck. Someone brought up how awful Dolly's remake of IWALY was and someone had to gently tell them that was the original. Hilarity ensued. :)

How many times we have seen a great talent flame out?
Fame=money=stress=drugs=death? It is so sad that these talents are lost to us. Whitney was a talent beyond beleif. Her rendition of The Star Spangled Banner will never be found any better. RIP you great lovely person. |

I hope this shows people that Bobby may have been her partner in crime, but that she was not an innocent. Still, RIP. |
