These are what the groom and groomsmen and men in the families:

Not pink vests and ties though...it'll be silver/platinum vests and ties.

I love modcloth for dresses! One of my friends had her 2 bridesmaids just choose black dresses in a certain length from there and it turned out really pretty.

I was just facebook creeping someone's wedding photos...

Have you every seen those bridesmaid's dresses with a kind sash under the bustline that curves downwards making an upside down "U" on the front of the dress? Why would anyone make such a thing, every bridesmaid looked pregnant with huge hips - not flattering. Come to this of it my cousin and his now ex-wife (a story for another time) also had dresses like that. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

They do it to make every woman in the wedding party look fatter than the bride!:D

Lovely dresses except they make your chest look severely lopsided- like B on one side, D on the other.

What's sad is that you're probably right. This sick obsession with being thin is one of the main reasons I don't have a lot of close female friends, even though I'm in a sorority. My mother is neurotic about weight and she always mentions losing weight or exercising every time I talk to her. It reminds me of the character in Girl, Interrupted who would say chicken instead of kitchen.

I'd like for American women to go a week without mentioning anything related to weight or fatness and see how they feel at the end.

Tri Delta has started an event that does just that. You can learn more about it here.

I love it!!! I especially like the acknowledgement that presumably positive comments are actually reinforcing the problem. I H.A.T.E. when people say to me, "You look great! Have you lost weight?"

I have a friend who always greets me with "Hello Beautiful" no matter how I look, because she's commenting on me as her friend, not on my level of attractiveness.

I never comment on a woman's weight unless she brings it up. Even then, I don't mention how she looks. I ask her how she feels physically with the relief of weight loss.

As long as J Crew makes dresses, there should be no tacky maid's dresses that you will never wear again:

I love those. :)

All of my friends have been awesome because their bridesmaid dresses weren't expensive* and I could wear them again and again.

* Depending on where you shop and how much you spend on one item
