What in the world was that blue thing Tyra decided to try and make into a shirt at final judging? I couldn't see anything but that, I was so blinded by it's weird ugliness.

Oh, yeah, no surprise on the winner.

lovespink88 05-13-2010 12:40 PM

I haven't seen it but I just googled the winner LOL

I'm SO mad just because of the fact that my favorite NEVVVER goes all the way. I thought for sure that I would pick the winner this time.

thetygerlily 05-13-2010 01:41 PM

Yeah I didn't understand the blue thing either. I think the triangular shape was supposed to give an hourglass figure- broader shoulders, small waist... but umm she is already curvy so I don't think that's necessary. And I know ANTM is pushing the couture stuff but I feel like some things should stay on the runway (although even then...). But I'm obviously not in the fashion business

Yeah, winner was no surprise. It was cool to see the recent rejects on the runway too- they've done that several times but it seemed like they called more attention to it this time.

bostongreek 05-13-2010 01:45 PM

Well, change of pace with them not hiding the decoys on the runway this time. So much for sending them home from NZ. Alasia looked adorable in the show, though. Better than the F2 I think.

Winner was obvious, which made this finale painfully boring :/

I actually liked the space age style neckline and the color of Tyra's final judging outfit. But no more jumpsuits, please?

Lastly, I really miss the final three format. What is the point of this double elim?

ASUADPi 05-13-2010 07:25 PM

I really think this goes to prove my point that the judges chose the person as the "winner" because they are the LEAST likely person (of the two) to get a contract and they know that without the ANTM prize (of a contract) that they would normally be screwed.
I'm sure Reina got a contract.

KSUViolet06 05-13-2010 07:32 PM

I knew Krista was going to win just based on the comments she was getting from the judges at different points (ex: "I always tell aspiring models to do X and this is a perfect example of X")

Thankfully though, PLENTY of non-winners end up with contracts and such.

I think I have seen more non-winners in Vogue, Elle, etc than girls who won the whole thing.

LeslieAGD 05-16-2010 03:32 PM

It seems like the show is always looking for a certain "type" to win (ie - blonde, brunette, redhead, black, hispanic, mixed, plus sized, high-fashion). Krista is the first "dark skinned" black winner and the panel was kissing her backside for weeks...although I don't think she's anything special.

Now Tyra needs to find an Asian girl to win, and a more "commercial" winner.

Ditto for all of that. On the close-up, I thought the blue thing was Tyra holding a binder (the edge was so straight). Then it zoomed out and I saw she was wearing it. :o

Since the show, Raina has been finishing school. She’ll soon be graduating with a degree in broadcast journalism. In June of 2010, Raina is going to Dubai to be the Fall 2010 face of Symphony, a Dubai retailer. After seeing Raina on the show, they immediately contacted her through The CW network.

Before the show, Raina was signed with Moore Creative Talent, Ignite Models, Wehman Agency, and Agency Models and Talent. She is still on the boards at Ignite Models.

Man....that website gives updates on all the contestants. I looked up Amanda from C3 and it confirmed that she has since gone completely blind. :( I knew she said it'd happen by the time she was 30 but it was sad to see it confirmed.

:confused: Wasn't Teyona just two cycles ago? She was pretty dark skinned.

Even further than that--Danielle from Cycle 6 was the first.

I know that "model pretty" is supposed to be different, but...

http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/10/19...l_krista_2.jpg

Really? This was her best shot from this shoot? She literally looks plastic.

I saw a couple of other pictures of her on google and she looks like she can take a good picture. This isn't one of them :puzzled:
