Congratulations to the Delta Omicron Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta who has 87 new members. I was told by my officers there that quota was 72+ 5 upperclassmen.

Congrats to all the groups and new members at Bama!

Dying to see how Alpha Phi did...

Congrats Gamma Phi Beta. That is a HUGE pledge class! Has there ever been a pledge class anywhere in the triple digits?

Congrats again!

If quota was 72+5 upperclassmen....even with snap bids, how did GPhiB get up to 105? That seems like a HUGE amount of snap bids, correct me if I'm wrong?

Those were probably quota additions not snaps.

I am just amazed by the size of these pledge classes. Congrats to everyone on a successful recruitment!

AOII Angel is correct, quota additions is the most common situation.

How bout' that! I remember a cute picture in a book about the Bear with Mae Martin when she was a little girl placing a Houndstooth hat on a smiling Grandad's head when he was with (if I remember right) the New York Jets' owner at the time right when the Bear started wearing Houndstooth's! Before then, I think he wore Brown Fedora's on the sideline!

Oops!! I just looked at that picture on page 355 of "The Last Coach." According to the description, it was grandaughter Mary Harmon Tyson, not Mae Martin Bryant. Don't know why I remembered it wrong!! Was right in every other detail!!

Very good question! I was wondering that myself! I doubt even the biggest Ole Miss sororities have had PNM classes (to be official sounding) that high! That number to me is unbelievable!!

my2cents2008 08-16-2009 03:43 PM

Congratulations, Gamma Phis! Great outcome for an old and respected national sorority with a relatively short history at Bama. Now the secret is out--this is a sorority that will be on everyone's radar next August!
