Violetpretty...the branding is really nice. I like that they included hearts in the design and tagline since your motto is "One Heart, One Way"!

Figured I'd bump this thread to go along with the other sorority taglines thread. :P

Ugh... Hurl. Imagine Believe Achieve was bad enough. Vibrant just isn't. Can't we just stick with Love, Honor, Truth? I mean, it's worked for almost a century; why try to change it?

I completely agree! I really have a distaste for these new taglines. As nice and clever as some of them are, they smack of retail.

Amen, sister. I got to proof-read an article for the upcoming issue of our magazine, and the whole. thing. read. like. a. 14-year-old's. term. paper. Full of one-word "sentences" and actual sentences that began with the word "and." I got over the "and" part quickly enough because they want it to sound conversational, but the whole thing just read like one, huge schmaltzburger, and it was actually rather painful.

I didn't see it for Phi Mu, so here goes...

Open Motto: Les Soeurs Fideles (French for "The Faithful Sisters")
Tagline: Vibrant. (I think this is just about the stupidest tagline ever, and we should just use our ideals of "Love, Honor, Truth" as our tagline.)
Flower: Rose carnation (sometimes called the "enchantress carnation," though ours is technically not that variety)
Jewel: None
Color: Rose and White
Official Mascot: The lion, named Sir Fidel (after our open motto)
Other Symbols: The barbed quatrefoil, a hand holding a heart, three stars

FWIW...Love, Honor, Truth makes a beautiful tagline.

They did a survey about 2 or 3 years ago, and basically asked members what came to mind when they thought of Delta Phi Epsilon, and the most remembered/impactful thing was our motto. No sense in messing with something that isn't broken. :)

FYI, Phi Mu's new website is up... and if you really want to hurl, read this article. It's the one I got to read before it was published. I'm not sure if it's still full of one-word "sentences," but it certainly was just a week ago. And we're supposed to be recruiting intelligent women? Good luck!
