Yes its an adorable pic. . . . But is it wrong that my first thought seeing all the kids in white is I cant wait to see Kate try and keep them all "clean" (and by try i mean freak out)

New episodes air Monday nights at 9PM.

I know they're well into this current season, but I read somewhere that the next season (the one that includes their trips to San Diego and Hawaii) starts in November.

Kate's definitely letting this get to her head. Jon could very well be feeling the same way, but from just watching the show, we all know Kate wants what SHE wants and things need to be HER way ALL the time.

I liked the show better when there wasn't any drama. I've said in previous posts that the shows lately just haven't been the same.

I'd hate for the kids to get picked on at school because their mom's like that. Pretty soon Kate's going to pull a Michelle Duggar and homeschool her kids.

What was that mess about "Aunt Jodi" wanting compensation? Can someone cue the violins?

Soo true, I feel the same. Though, I think my opinions of the show changed because of those posts & forums. Too bad too.

I know Kate is very overbearing, harsh, etc. But I feel so bad for her. As much as she complains and stuff, all this family going behind her back is ridiculous. I could never do that to a member of my family, no matter how much they hurt me.

I mean Jodi kept saying that she was all about family....well ok, just go ahead and bash your sister-in-law and her family. I wonder what Kevin thinks.

Not only that...but what about the kids? The last episode Jodi was on was the one where she helped take care of all the Gosselin kids PLUS her own. It's obvious that the cousins all get along with each other. A previous episode showed Mady being very loving and caring for her cousin, Baby Benny.

Kate doesn't get along with her parents and never really made any mention of her other siblings...all she had was Kevin until now.

IMO.....There are some people in this world that should not homeschool....Kate is one of those people!!!!

Why do I say this? Because there are those out in this world that give Homeschoolers a bad name.....Get my drift?

Mine you, I am fan of the show, but I can just see Kate with her controlling personality trying to home school 6 kids of the same age at once, and I cringe!

Again, I am not bashing homeschoolers....I was homeschooler for most of my life, and I am now a teacher, so I see both view points!

I have heard her mention her sisters, & her brother-in-law (I believe it was her sister Kendra's husband) was the one who helped Jon paint Mady & Cara's new room.

But I know what you mean, Kevin was always there. It has to be really hard for him. I just think that Jodi "speaking out" is wrong for her to do.

I just see it as Jodi sticking up for her sister. I'd probably do the same.

If anything, Jodi's sister is to blame for even starting that blog. Sure, Jodi got screwed, but Julie's no better than Kate for saying some of the things she did on that blog.

My family's got tons of dirty laundry and drama, but you don't see me airing it to the whole world. It's a shame how a disagreement between two women is affecting the whole family.

SO I took a couple of months off from watching this, mainly becuase my summer was very busy but also because I actually read some of the forums and hate-kate websites and I could tell it was affecting my opinion of the show.

So I watched last night and I have to say, I thought they had a great 4th of July and did all sorts of normal things (aside from the fact that the house they were in probably rents for ~ $3000 a week). and I've made the American flag cake that Kate made with the girls (only I hate cool whip so I used real whipped cream) and I do have to say it is really good.

Peak vacation season in OBX? In a house that big? Try upwards of $5-6000. Yikes.

Woops- I was looking at winter rates. But you are right. I'm sure the show paid for it.

Time to Exit, John & Kate

An editorial on a blog called A Minor Consideration, a foundation that gives guidance to child stars. I think they have a point when they say that kids need privacy as they get older. Will be interesting to see what happens as they grow up.

KSUViolet06 09-01-2008 10:08 PM

I just watched the "Labor Day" episode where they took the kids back to the hospital and such where they were born, and the condo where they lived while they were waiting to get all the kids out of the hospital.

Something that I can appreciate about the Gosselins is the fact that they're very honest about their initial feelings about having 6 kids at once.

On alot of those "multiple baby TV shows" the families are just sooo excited to have that many kids they say "OMGG my babies ARE SOO WONDERFUL and we WERE so THRILLED to have them!"

J&K are pretty up front about the fact that they were pretty freaked out by it at first.

KSUViolet06 10-14-2008 01:04 AM

I just watched the episode about the kids going to preschool.

I was pretty surprised that Kate didn't homeschool the kids (I think she mentioned in past episodes that she wanted to).

It also surprised me that all 6 of them are in the same classroom. You'd think that after spending the first couple years of life together all the time, that she'd insist on them being split up.

I missed last night, but as for all the kids being in the same classroom- it depends on the size of the preschool. My son's preschool only had one class per age per day, so unless you split up the days they are there (some go Monday-Wednesday, others go Tuesday-Thursday or something) they pretty much have to be in the same class.

I'm almost positive the pre-school is at their church (the building and the surroundings looked familiar). Usually churches don't have many pre-school classes. I think they'll be split up when they get into kinder & beyond.

Also I don't know if it was mentioned, but Kate was on an episode of "Say Yes to the Dress." She went to go pick out a dress for the vow renewal in Hawaii.

That most certainly is their church's pre-school. http://gtaog.org/232384.ihtml (The church was mentioned in a Special Thanks in the closing credits) I recall Kate saying in a previous episode that "that's where the twins went and where the little ones will eventually go there too."

I can't believe how much the kids have grown. Hannah's quite the sassy one, it's cute. And Joel -- out of all the kids, I never thought he'd be the first to ride a two-wheeler. It makes sense, though, especially since he was one of the first ones to even want to start riding a bike.

I didn't grow out of my training wheels until I was like 7/8! Good for Joel! I love Hannah's sassy attitude. I can't believe that Hannah weighs more than Colin (this was on a different episode), I guess Kate is right--his big head makes you think he weighs more! lol

When Doves Cry 10-24-2008 01:55 AM

ahh I haven't seen any of the episodes since August! :(
We either have chapter when it's on, or someone is watching something else (we don't get cable in our rooms. it's lame)

I like how the kids wore Shane Victorino's number. How awesome that a Hawaii connection was made again. Good timing too -- with the World Series going on and the Hawaiian vacation set to air next month.

KSUViolet06 10-31-2008 01:34 AM

I think it's so cool that J&K got to renew their vows where they originally wanted to get married.

I like how she showed the kids the wedding video and talked about how this is something that they want to do with the kids so they can see that Mom and Dad love each other.

Sidenote: the kids are getting so big! Hearing Hannah asking questions and stuff while they were watching the video made me think "wow they're growing up so fast, back when the show started, the little kids needed subtitles."

Unregistered- 11-13-2008 05:03 PM

They showed the first half of Maui last Monday and next Monday's the vow renewal. I liked how TLC's getting ready for it...they must have gotten their inspiration from Cialis commercials.

We'll get to see some of Jon's family -- which is cool, considering how their family is rarely seen on TV.

The girls looked absolutely lovely with their flowers in their hair. Makes me want to book a room at the Wailea for the weekend!

gee_ess 11-13-2008 06:44 PM

I am really looking forward to the vow renewal. My daughter and I are hooked on this show, and I agree with KSUViolet, I can't believe how the kids are growing! They are so precious.

Does anyone know the situation with Kate's parents? They are never mentioned, never seen, etc. She mentions her brother, but no one else. I am somewhat of a latecomer, though, so maybe I missed something.

Okay, and another quick comment. I was really glad to see that they did not allow Maddie to participate in the cookie baking activity since she was misbehaving. I can empathize with Maddie's frustrations, but I am glad they have taken their response to her tantrums to another level - removing her rather than tolerating her.

Of course these are just rumors, but it seems to be the one that's stuck around the longest: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...8162145AAFegWa

Hmmm..interesting. Maybe this issue will be cleared up in the Jon and Kate Plus Eight Reunion/Where Are They Now show in 20 years. :) I am really curious, though, and sure hate to hear that anyone's parents are not a part of their children or grandchildren's lives. It's a shame they are missing out on such adorable grandchildren!

gee_ess 11-18-2008 12:09 PM

Loved the vow renewal last night - especially when Jon said," I promise to ask, 'What can I do to help honey?' " in times of stress. Too funny since she is often complained of this on the show. The kids were precious and I loved the pedicures, etc. A really nice episode, if I do say so myself!

Again, I am really curious about the situation with her family. Blurred out in the wedding videos? Random. I think Dr Phil could get to the bottom of this.

The production team would have to get permission from everyone that attended the first wedding, to show faces. It is just easier to blur out faces so that they don't have to get into all the legality. It has nothing to do with whether their family is estranged or not.

SWTXBelle 11-18-2008 04:48 PM

Turns out I have an ancestor with the same last name as Jon (and everyone else). Random.

I can understand the difficulty of getting random wedding guests' permission, but the mother of the bride and father of the bride are blurred in those videos. I can't imagine it is too hard to get permission from the immediate family unless they didn't want to cooperate.

I just hate for anyone to be estranged from immediate family. It makes me sad.

KSUViolet06 11-19-2008 01:46 AM

Seeing all of the girls at the spa getting their little pedicures was the cutest thing EVER.

I thought their cake was BEAUTIFUL (and I loved the flowers).

I also thought it was neat to see Jon's family there.

Well, Kate has already said that her relationship with her parents is difficult & it seems as though they are pretty much estranged at the moment. I doubt that either party (Jon/Kate/production or Kate's parents) wanted them shown on TV.

HBADPi 11-19-2008 07:22 PM

Did anyone else feel that some of Jon's family were just invited so there were guests at the wedding? Not to sound too cynical but some of them were obviously close family that he knew but others it seemed pretty distant and even Jon had a hard time recounting who they were. I know they've pushed alot of people out of their lives so it just got me wondering...

KSUViolet06 11-25-2008 02:04 AM

I think Kate was being a little bit of a "Yard Salezilla" on tonight's episode, especially when she kept saying "They misspelled proceeds!"

I thought it was cool that they let people name their own prices for the stuff, and that the $$ went to cancer research.

gee_ess 12-09-2008 09:44 AM

I watched the episode last night where Kate is switching out the kids' summer clothes with winter clothes and wondered if the kids dress alike all the time or just on camera days. I can see this as one more frustration/power struggle for Madi, in particular.

It seems to me that as the kids grow, some of the smaller kids (Alexis, Joel) could wear the bigger kids'(Hannah, Colin) stuff from the previous year. Of course, this wouldn't work if they are dressing alike every day, and they might not wear different sizes.

KSUViolet06 12-11-2008 12:02 AM

Cara and Mady being Kate for a day = fail.

The whining almost made it hard for me to watch it.

nittanyalum 12-11-2008 04:05 PM

I'm not a regular JKPE watcher, but I flipped on TLC the other night and came across a show called "Twins, Twins & Sextuplets" -- what does the JKPE fanbase think of that show? I only watched part of it, but at first glance, I'd say they've got J&K by one set of twins PLUS one of their sextuplets has cerebral palsy AND the parents are really likable and still genuinely seem to like each other, have fun and have kept their senses of humor. I think J&K have some competition! ;)
