Target has some ADORABLE Valentiney owl stuff. I almost died when I was there last week. I resisted the urge cause I didn't really NEED to buy plates.

I love Target!!!

I am always finding cute mascot type things for many of the NPC sororities throughout Target, especially in the dollar section at the front of the store.

The dollar store section is like crack for me. Oh dear...I bought sooo many packs of note cards there. This is making me want to go back...

SWTXBelle 02-08-2009 11:12 PM

I thought the Target owl stuff would be GREAT for recruitment - so, so cute.

cuteASAbug 02-09-2009 01:44 PM

The dollar bin of Target also has ladybug notepads!

VandalSquirrel 05-24-2009 08:01 PM

Not so much gifts, but could be used as such.

I found www.cookiesinseattle.com as I need a new squirrel cutter since mine got bent, and they have all kinds of cutters for almost all of our mascots/symbols (NPC) and even for NPHC, NALFO and other groups.

There are penguins, crescents, sailboats, a hand in a heart, turtles, a derby hat (perfect for Sigma Chi Derby Days), a dress (Alpha Phi could use it for a red dress heart health event), pansy, dove, elephant with a trunk UP, lions, owls, butterflies, angels, dolphins, anchors, pine trees, pink ribbon, strawberries, bunnies, eagles, frogs, daisies, various cats, poodles, diamond (for ADPi or a Theta kite), palm trees, the great pyramids, and more.

Might be a good way to have a unique but low cost dessert for rush, or for informal rush or a sisterhood have a cookie decorating party. The "pink ribbon" is in ribbon form, so it can be used for any ribbon, say for SigEp and youth AIDS or for KD and child abuse.

alum 06-07-2009 09:55 PM

I saw an elephant purse on a website. Since these are custom-orders, perhaps the artist could be persuaded to alter the trunk so a DST could use it.

I found these cute silver necklaces while surfing the web. Several of them have sorority symbols on them.

khlkcca 08-27-2009 09:17 PM

There is a pink crown "picture" at Target. It is in the little girl's bedding area, but it is not overly juvenile.

hightlow 09-02-2009 10:35 PM

It's really great. I like it very much.
Thanks for the feedback. That is very useful.

While looking for a diaper bag I came across this site: http://www.kalencom.com/main/page.as...=8&id_detail=8. If anyone wants a mascot diaper bag they have lady bugs, butterflies, lions, panda bear, penguins, and more. I wish they'd make a dolphin one though.

FWIW, I'm responsible for selling ladybug pins, in support of education for mostly Appalachian students. I wish I had a photo to show you, but if anyone's interested, please let me know!

www.vineyardvines.com has a great sweater for Delta Gammas:

It's not very often that I see clothing and immediately think of a certain sorority or fraternity!

When I was looking for a Christmas present for my sister I found these earrings, shaped like Alpha Sigma Alpha badges, on sale from 200 to 59!

Very cute. The neat thing too is, to my knowledge, Kate Spade was a KKG. At least, her name is listed on something compiled by our Greek life to show some well known people that were involved in Greek life in their time in school.

Owl & Squirrel Bags

World Market has gift bags in the holiday section that have owls and squirrels on them! Perfect for the Kappa, Chi O, or AGD on your list :) There's even a two pack with 1 owl bag & 1 squirrel bag.

As much as I love our lyre, I'm so envious of the other organizations that have common symbols. Has anyone found any lyre things, other than furniture?

AOII Angel 12-18-2009 11:16 PM

I love Tina Tang in NYC. She has a shop across the street from my friend's apartment on Greenwich avenue, and I've been buying earrings and necklaces from her for years. Her new collection is based on Romeo and Juliet. She has some dagger items that made me think of Kappa Delta. http://www.tinatang.com/earrings/long/E_SWORD.html

I'm so there- it drives me a bit batty, especially when I see all these beautiful key or owl objects. Unfortunately, I don't have any amazing finds to add. :(

Funny you should ask! I saw an earring holder/display at a store yesterday that was shaped like a lyre. I totally thought "Oooh, A Chi O!" ;)

I feel the same way! I'm not so much into teddy bears, and it's kind of hard to find quill items. :(

The item that I've come across that I'm most envious of is this Tiffany Key that would be perfect for a Kappa: http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item...+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

It's a key WITH a fleur-de-lis at the top! (and all for the low price of $2,650....;) lol)

I don't know Terra but we have a mutual friend. I thought this was a super cute owl. Don't know if she does squirrels;)

carnation 08-29-2010 09:28 AM

My aunt and uncle just passed on and they have apparently left their massive collection of expensive elephants to someone who doesn't want them. I've told my sister to keep her eyes open for a DST or Alabama fan who might.
