I just bought Cashmere Mist for my sister for Christmas, it smells really good. I recently picked up Armani Code for myself. :)

My top 3:

1. Paris Hilton
2. Moonlight Path (Bath and Body Works)
3. Warm Vanilla Sugar (Bath and Body Works)

sarahanne 11-29-2006 10:18 PM

I love Dior Addict 2, it smells delicious!
For guys I have always like Aqua Gio and the classic ralph lauren

LoveMyKeyKKG 01-02-2007 10:04 PM

I fell in love with Burberry London when I had a sample of it. So I asked for it for Christmas and I don't like the big bottle. Has anyone else experienced this?

I know you sometimes can't trust small samples but this smells COMPLETELY different. At first I thought they got the men's version by mistake but nowhere on the box did it say "for men." My mom said she doesn't mind it so she would take it and buy me a replacement but I want the good smelling sample not another bottle that may smell just like this one. It has a very pungent top note. I don't know any other way to describe it. I've given it time to grow on me on several different occasions and that first whiff just never goes away.

I'm so sad!! :(

LoveMyKeyKKG 01-02-2007 10:19 PM

Well I am following up on my own post but I think I solved the mystery. The bottle and packaging that I have match the regular Burberry for Women bottle shown on their Web site. EXCEPT my bottle clearly says Burberry with London underneath it so I can't blame my brother for getting the wrong one. What stupid salesperson didn't realize what he meant when he asked for Burberry London??? It's their newest fragrance. Sheesh!

hazelle 01-03-2007 01:27 AM

Hey, have you tried the CoCo Chanel?? It is totally designed NOT to smell like Grandma's Chanel No.5. It is focused for the modern career/college girl who wants to be sophisticated like her Mom and Grandma.

But for all who love classics, Shalimar has been reconfigured and is better than ever. Gave my daughters the Britany cologne and they love it!!

I used to wear Coco but I got tired of it.

This thread reminds me to get some Pink Sugar. OMG.

I just read in Allure that they're bringing this back. They also talked about 3 new Chanel scents that sound phenomenal, and I'm really hoping they will smell as good as the descriptions.

I LOVE Coco. I even spray it on my pillows when they come out of the dryer.

I really need to get a bottle of the Coco Mademoiselle, too. It's so sweet-smelling...I love it, too.

I haven't tried it on, but I smelled in the store and so far I think it's the best of the Dream Angel line (which admittedly isn't my favorite).

I've updated my tastes since I last posted to this thread. Lately I've been wearing:

Oscar by Oscar de la Renta (my standby)
Cinema by Yves Saint Laurent (probably my current favoritoe)
Euphoria by Calvin Klien (very versatile)
Burberry Weekend (I'm sort of tiring of this one though)
Basic Instinct by Victoria's Secret (they're cancelling it :()

Lately, some of my scent snob friends have turned me on to BPAL, or Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab:

http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com/

Now, from their website you'd think that their scents all cater to goths/hippies, and many of them do, but some of them are more mainstream but still incredibly unique. Their oils are also really strong and a little goes a long way. If you're into scents, it's definitely worth checking out.

PeppyGPhiB 01-25-2007 10:07 PM

I'm a perfume addict. I have so many bottles that I've had some of them for several years...to the point they're evaporating out of the bottle! :( I wear them depending on my mood.

My favorites are:
Cristobal by Balenciaga, Oscar by Oscar de la Renta, Chanel No. 5, Jo Malone Red Roses, and Fig Apricot by Fresh.

Others I have are:
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, J.P. Gaultier Fragile, Jo Malone Orange Blossom, Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin, Lalique, Flowerbomb, Dolce Gabbana Light Blue, Flowers & Chocolate by Fresh, and one by Ferragamo that my bf bought me and I don't care for very much.

Ones I can't wear:
Shalimar - it may be the most popular perfume of all time, but I will always associate it with my Grandma, as it was her signature scent.
Joy and Opium - my aunt's signature scent
Paloma Picasso - my mom's
Thiery Muglar's Angel - the scent makes me feel sick to my stomach

For men:
Burberry Brit
Hugo Boss
Aqua di Gio
Red by Giorgio Beverly Hills
Eternity by Calvin Klein
...and good ol' Polo Ralph Lauren

I see patchoili scents! Eeeee!!!

In all seriousness, though, that looks like a site I might try. Lots of pretty blends there.

I have a couple I love. Bvlgari Blanc or Cashmere Mist during the day, Dior Hypnotic Poison at night, and Givenchy Very Irresistable in the summer.

ΑΓΔSquirrel10 05-06-2007 10:27 PM

My personal favorite (for me) is Victoria's Secret Very Sexy...it is THE perfect scent for me (the kind in the red bottle; not the pink one)

I absolutely love it when a guy wears Abercrombie & Fitch "Fierce". It smells amazing :)
My last boyfriend wore Mary Kay's Velocity for Men. Sounds weird that a guy would wear something by Mary Kay, but as anyone smelled that? It smelled wonderful on him!

Unregistered- 05-06-2007 10:58 PM

Don't know if it's already been mentioned, but I've recently become addicted to Sake and Sugar Lychee by Fresh, available at any Neiman Marcus or Sephora.

AlethiaSi 05-06-2007 11:48 PM

I LOVE truth by calvin klein.. they stopped making it though :( I bought a bunch online when i found out they discontinued it, but that was a few years ago and I think its starting to go bad...

but i also loveeee
candies (reminds me of high school and going out lol)
Gucci Envy (a little more grown up- but still sensual)
paris hilton (light and floral-y)

but i love anything jasmine or magnolia for body sprays and i have this roll-on oil from b&bw in sensual... yum! (which i don't think they make anymore) i also like coconut lime verbena and honeysuckle
it seems a lot of stuff i like is often discontinued... whats up with that? :(

i think i want to get be delicious by DKNY and armani code for women next, smells soo good

Honeykiss1974 05-07-2007 11:00 AM

My two fragrances of the moment...Juicy Couture (I LOVE the purse spray bottle :D ) and Coach. They both smell divine!

I got the Juicy perfume in the Eau de Parfum Traveler for Christmas. The stupid thing sprayed a couple days and died on me. :( I love the smell, I just wish it would come out of the bottle, I can hear it and I know it’s in there but it won't come out! I've tried everything from running it under hot water to trying to break it when I was really frustrated. lol. Nothing worked.

Since I'm obviously not wearing my Juicy perfume....

Calving Klein- Euphoria (when I go out)
Victoria Secret- Pink (when I'm just going to class)
Clinique- Happy (at work)

There are a couple other ones that I rotate through when I'm in the mood. I get bored with things very easily.

AlethiaSi 08-21-2007 03:19 PM

I just got Kenneth Cole Black. I love it
I also bought two of the essential oil scents from the body shop, the ananya and indian begonia or something like that
i have a hard time figuring out what i want to wear :o lol

whiteandblack 08-21-2007 04:06 PM

^^ yes, I love the Body Shop. I'm in the market for a new perfume, may look into Ralph, by RL. or maybe Knowing, by EL.

Sister Havana 01-25-2008 10:50 PM

Time to update my scents of choice. :)

I rotate between Gap So Pink, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, Avon Haiku, Avon Today, Avon Tomorrow, Avon Extraordinary, Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise, Lush Honey I Washed The Kids solid, Lush Potion Solid, and Lush Champagne Snow Showers solid. I also use Lush's Flying Fox temple balm (sadly discontinued) as a solid perfume.

SWTXBelle 01-25-2008 10:52 PM

I love my Laila - you can only get it in the states on line or at Epcot - the Norway pavillion!

My mom has that! She usually wears Obsession, though. It's been "her" scent forever.

I have Glamourous from Ralph Lauren, and I really like it. There are sparkles in the bottle! My key sis' mom got it for me (also a Kappa), so it has special meaning to me as well.

It seems like we have similar scent preferences. My favorite of the moment is definitely the Honey I Washed the Kids :) I need to track down this EA Green Tea, I've never heard of it or seen it anywhere before and it sounds intriguing ...

KatieKate1244 01-26-2008 12:33 AM

I've fallen in love with Victoria's Secret More Pink Please. I think they put crack in it or something, it just makes me really freaking happy when I smell it.

Fleur de Lis 01-26-2008 12:46 PM

I usually don't like perfume because it all smells like chemicals to me, but I've found I love the body sprays at Ann Taylor, especially Sugar Vanilla Orchid Bloom and Orange Nectar Honeysuckle. On Mr. Fleur de Lis, I love VS Very Sexy for Him.

icelandelf 01-26-2008 01:07 PM

I adore a scent called Child. It's hard to find, but well worth it. Whenever I trek up to Dallas, I find it at a little boutique called Tallulah Belle.

ThetaPrincess24 01-26-2008 04:33 PM

An update to my post of a few years back:

I like: Cassis Rose, Japanese Cherry Blossom, and Indian Gardenia (perfume oil) from The Body Shop
Amazing Grace and Inner Grace from Philosophy
Donna Karan Gold by donna karan

For husband: Bvlgari and Arber (by The Body Shop)

Scully 01-27-2008 11:32 PM

For me: DKNY Red Delicious, Vera Wang Princess, D&G Light Blue and Versace Red Jeans
For DH: Chrome by Azaro, Armani Black Code and Nautica

I try to update once a year and go shopping at Sephora.

FireFetus 01-28-2008 12:13 AM

I'd rather have cologne than perfume, since I'm not a chick.

WinniBug 04-14-2008 10:13 PM

I currently wear Chanel Chance
but I smelled ... Estee Lauder Pleasures and LOVED it

On men I really like Aqua di Gio....yummy

I like really classic scents-- Chanel No. 5, Estee Lauder has some of my favorites: Estee, White Linen, Cinnabar, Youth Dew...

I guess my tastes are really old school *lol* :D

joliebelle 04-16-2008 09:52 PM

My boyfriend bought me Burberry Brit for my birthday and I've been getting crazy compliments about it lately

I was at VS yesterday and I bought myself some Very Sexy Sheer Sexy Mist (which, by the way, I don't really care for as much as the regular perfurme--but it was on sale for $15) and I smelled Very Sexy for Him for the first time...
OH MY GOD, I thought I was going to swoon away right there. I told my sister it reallllly made me wish that the bottle I was holding had a man attached. Ha. Seriously, though, it's my new favorite cologne.

ETA: One of my girlfriends wears Betsey Johnson and every time she walks in a room, even if I don't see her, I'm always like, "There's Laura!" because it just has this way of effervescing throughout the room without being too strong. It smells great, but I don't think I could ever wear it myself because that's the scent I associate with her, and I feel like it'd be kind of like cheating.

ZTAMich 04-16-2008 10:46 PM

I got the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume solid ring from Sephora. Love it! Great scent :)

ktbug10474 04-16-2008 11:56 PM
