Oh those are the worst! Feel better!

My throat feels like it does when I have an allergy attack, but it's not sore and I'm not congested. WTF is that?

Tulip86 10-10-2010 03:20 PM

I have been coughing for weeks, and it's gotten so bad I keep keep waking myself coughing.

Annoyed!

Me, too. It's awful, and apparently spreading like wildfire around here.

I had that when I was younger. Some cough syrup with codeine knocked it (and me) out. ;)

My sinuses are draining and it "tastes" the way it does when I have a sinus infection (gross, I know). But there's no aching or congestion at all and my throat is fine. Go figure, it's been lasting for weeks.

That's kind of how I'm feeling. It's odd.

On it! And slightly helping when I'm sitting but sleeping is still hard. I have asthma and all the coughing makes that play up as well.
I'm mostly sticking to healty food, cute scarves and lots of relaxing ;)

pshsx1 10-10-2010 08:21 PM

My roommate coughed all over everything last week and now I'm sick. :(

I'm seriously about to light my nose on fire. My nostrils are taking turns being clogged and leaking. This is not how I want to go into my weekend

The pain in my sinuses radiated throughtout the right side of my face down to my teeth. I finally called the doctor (I avoid that man like the plague) b/c I was in so much pain. I was told he'd call back this afternoon. Not only did he not call back, the pain stopped after I hung up.

knight_shadow 10-14-2010 03:20 AM

My allergies are pretty bad, and I usually have some meds handy to get them under control before they get too bad. The job, though, is keeping me too busy. I settled for some cough drops from the corner store, but I haven't been able to go to the pharmacy to get something to clear this up. Hopefully, I'll have some time this weekend. This aching, coughing, and congestion is ridiculous.

Vicks VapoRub took care of all of that in a night for me. I never used to use that stuff (something about rubbing some goop on my chest to feel better weirded me out) but I'm officially sold on it.

knight_shadow 10-14-2010 03:39 AM

I used to use Vicks all the time, but it doesn't do much for me anymore. I'll clear up for the night, but the minute I wake up, the congestion is back.

honeychile 10-14-2010 02:47 PM

Headache, sinuses, cough, eyes running, hot/cold, sleepy - and a pill lodged in my throat for the past two hours.

Sadly, I think the little dog feels the same way (except the pill).

christiangirl 10-15-2010 12:52 AM

Aaaaaand the pain is back. Doctor's appointment next Tuesday. :(

Tulip86 10-15-2010 06:15 AM

Still coughing like mad.. sooooo done!

honeychile 10-15-2010 05:28 PM

Oh, great - now I can't hold anything down, either!

This has got to stop! I have an important meeting to attend tomorrow! On another note, I am so thankful that the little dog's first owner was sickly, so he doesn't get sick when I do. He's being very protective, stying in the same room with me, and cuddling when possible.

knight_shadow 10-15-2010 05:32 PM

I'm clearing up a little bit, but now I'm coughing things up :barf:

Sidebar: I took some Tussin at 11:49 this afternoon. It said to take it every 4 hours, but I had stopped coughing and my throat was feeling better. However, at 3:49 (on the dot), I coughed up my left lung and had to take another dosage.

This company really knows its product well lol

Tulip86 10-15-2010 05:34 PM

I've been fine all day, coughed a bit, but not much else.. well,.
sure enough the second I walk into work I start coughing like there's no tomorrow...

kappa_dancer 10-15-2010 07:25 PM

According to the boy, I was coughing up a lung in my sleep last night. I don't know if I should be thankful I don't remember it, or worried that it could have caused some problems.

Making it through work today was pure torture though. I'm pretty sure customers don't like it when their cashier is coughing like crazy ringing up their purchases.

I'm guessing it's the same with waitresses.
I managed to help out a bit between coughing fits, and spent the rest of the night in the backroom.

I got the appt pushed up to today. I spent a good portion of today with my head on my desk. The pain was so bad, I couldn't cough, couldn't laugh, nothing. My sinuses are totally rebelling. I got caught in a traffic jam and missed the appt. They were able to fit me in with another doc and now I'm living in a world of antibiotics, nasal steroids, and saline rinses (which btw is NOT soothing, no matter what the box says).

:(

I am clearing up, but I think I canceled it out by going out to drink. I'm starting to feel like horseshit now.

christiangirl 10-16-2010 02:33 AM

Ooooowwwww my teeth are throbbing. Has it been 7 days yet??? I want to take some motrin to see if that will help but IDK if it will interact with the steroids. I'll go read the box again cuz warm compresses and tea have not helped.

By saline rinse, do you mean the things like a Netti Pot or whatever? Those things terrify me. I'm so terrified of drowning that I can't have any liquid in my nose, so those are never an option for me.

I wish I could have spent the day in the fitting rooms, but I was the only person in my department and we were slammed today.

christiangirl 10-16-2010 03:16 AM

Yes, but it's just the little bottle that you squirt, not the pot. Who puts a tea kettle up their nose? That thing looked scary in the picture.

kappa_dancer 10-16-2010 03:49 AM

Yeah the whole idea of the thing really just doesn't sit well with me in any way.

LucyKKG 10-18-2010 02:58 AM

In March, I got a nasty ear infection because my sinuses weren't draining after a cold. I had a cold a few weeks ago and was a little congested. I noticed that I still can't hear as well, so I'm gonna have to go back to the ear-nose-throat doc. It doesn't hurt, but I keep popping them and I can't hear that well. :(

It's official. I went to the doctor, and I should be either cleared up or dead by the end of the week. Best part: I'm running the office by myself this week. Read as: I've transferred the phones back to my house so I can be comfy.

I'm sorry, but the bold made me chuckle :o I hope you feel better.

I worked from home all of last week, but came back in today. I'm still getting the "OMG YOU'RE SPREADING GERMS!" glares when I cough. Maybe I can work from home for another week...

honeychile 10-18-2010 12:04 PM

Thanks, KS. When I cough, I sound like a lung donor. Better yet, I tend to either puke a little with it or need a depend. It's just soooooooooooooooo attractive!

knight_shadow 10-18-2010 12:11 PM

Not the Depends LOL

Yea, my meds are starting to kick in, so (without getting too graphic) everything in my throat and chest is loosening up and coming out. Not a pretty sight or sound.
