No, that was Ray & Deanna (sp?) and Rob & Amber.

We also saw in that episode that Joyce & Uchenna gave Meredith & Gretchen some clothes. The on-line video clips showed that Ron & Kelly gave them some clothes as well.

We finally got to watch it last night. (Last week was "Turn-Off-Your-TV" week at MysticCat Jr's school, so we had to tape it.) As much as I have loved watching Rob & Amber, I, like everyone else, was howling at how Rob's attempt to psych out the other teams (he was so proud of himself) bit him on the arse. Too, too funny.

Still rooting for Joyce and Uchenna to take the whole enchilada.

I hope not! Even if they don't win I really just love to watch them!

hoosier 05-03-2005 10:27 PM

Rob and Amber are going all the way, if they don't get cocky.

Rob has the ability to get local people to help him, and he's thinking all the time about how to get ahead, so they will win.

I've really enjoyed this season.

smiley21 05-03-2005 11:01 PM

They went to London!!! :D I need to go there someday. It is so beautiful.

I wanna go too. The finale looks like it will be really good. If they play smart, Uchenna and Joyce could win it.

vanda 05-04-2005 10:07 AM

How is it Rob & Amber won another prize when they came in first this week, but the two weeks Uchenna and Joyce won they got nothing? If you come in first, everyone should win a prize.

We asked the same question.

And you gotta give it up for Meredith and Gretchen. I hope I have half of their determination and energy when I'm their age.

AznSAE 05-04-2005 11:38 AM

i FINALLY caught an episode of season 7. sucks that next week is the finals :(

valkyrie 05-04-2005 11:46 AM

Please oh please oh please oh please win, Uchenna and Joyce. OH PLEASE.

WesternAlumn 05-04-2005 01:17 PM

I am rooting for Rob and Amber but rumour has it that it is Uchenna and Joyce who will win. As long as it is not Ron and Kelly, I will be happy.

ditto

I know last week, when Uchenna and Joyce came in first, the prize was based on the Travelocity travelling gnome (talk about obvious product placement?) and Ron and Kelly got it, even though they were in last. I don't know about the other time that Uchenna and Joyce were first. I don't remember in that much detail.

Anybody but Ron and Kelly...

Tippiechick 05-04-2005 07:43 PM

Meredith made me cry when he was talking about Gretchen. That was one of the sweetest things a man has ever said about a woman he loves. You can truly tell they are still in love after all these years...

P.S. My dad was an Army pilot like Ron was. He about spit out his drink when Ron made mention of being entrusted to fly a 30+ million dollar machine. He said that was funny seeing as how Ron CRASHED said 30+ million dollar machine. My dad HATES Ron.

I think Kelly is an airhead. But, at least she called him on his bull last night.

I really hope Uchenna and Joyce win.

Sistermadly 05-05-2005 09:20 PM

Dear Rob & Amber:

14:57...:58...:59...

Signed,
Me

RedAngel 05-05-2005 10:02 PM

I'm rooting for Uchenna and Joyce also. (Rob and Amber have enough prizes for coming in first).

polarpi 05-10-2005 04:18 PM

Finale tonight :D :D :D (unfortunately I'll be in class, and will miss most of the *first* hour of the finale)

San Diego's CBS news station is hosting an AR finale party at a local bar and restaurant with ex-runners of the Amazing Race - they were showing on the noon news their trip to Sea World today, and interviewed Chip & Kim and the Bowling Moms, and also showed Hayden & Aaron and *Jonathan and Victoria* watching the sea lions. I'm looking forward to taping tonight's 11 o'clock news, and wish I didn't have class tonight - I'd so go down to the party!

GreenKappa 05-10-2005 04:32 PM

So so so excited. I think my roomie and i are ordering pizza and drinking beer...i really can't wait for 9 oclock to come around (geesh i sound like such a tool)

ms_gwyn 05-10-2005 04:51 PM

I can't believe I am saying this esp because of who it is...but they ran this race and did everything to get an advantage...I want Rob and Amber to win.

But I would be very happy if it was Uchenna and Joyce

or hell even
Kelly and Ron

this is the first time that I really don't mind the top three in the race

Sistermadly 05-10-2005 10:00 PM

I'm a cynic by nature, so I knew that when my favorite team came in last and had all of their possessions and cash stripped, that they'd find it hard to collect money from strangers, simply by virtue of who/what they are.

It's still early in the second ep, and I don't want to give too much away for my fellow west coasters who don't have digital cable/satellite, but I really hope this changes. I hate feeling so negative about folks I don't even know.

(Unless the people in question are Romber, then it's completely justified)

docetboy 05-10-2005 10:28 PM

Happy now??? :)

kddani 05-10-2005 11:01 PM

I'm thrilled with the outcome, the order was exactly what i wanted it to be!

WesternAlumn 05-10-2005 11:04 PM

I wished that I did not know that U&J were going to win. Remember the rumours before the show aired? Guess they were right.

I was rooting for Rob and Amber.

ZTABullwinkle 05-10-2005 11:08 PM

YEE-HAW!!! The right couple who thoroughly enjoyed the game and worked as a team won it tonight!!! If they hadn't gotten on that 10:00 flight it would have been a different outcome.

I was screaming at Uchenna to go claim their money, then get the money from the other eliminated contestants (wasn't sure how close Ramber was to them). But he did the right thing and got all the money together first. Earned even more respect from me.

What a great season....Rabmer has NOTHING to complain about. They have about ten honeymoons to choose from now. Doubt kelly and Ron made it work after the show.

CutiePie2000 05-11-2005 02:02 AM

I'm glad that Ron and Kelly didn't win...they already won, except their names were Freddy and Kendra. BLECH.

ms_gwyn 05-11-2005 02:17 AM

You know after watching the finale......

I am very happy with the out come....

the adversity that they came from

Also angels were looking over their shoulders with that flight, so you know luck was on their side.

They really did deserve it.

congrats...

GeoffZ 05-11-2005 03:41 AM

The team who deserved to win, did. I'm SO glad. :):)

Unregistered- 05-11-2005 04:09 AM

I thought this season was one of the best in recent time. In past seasons I only had maybe one or two teams I hoped would win, but this season there were so many good teams out there.

I liked this ending because I would have loved for either team (and not Ron and Kelly) to win. I love Amber, but if they won yet another million, I wouldn't put it past the viewers to call foul on CBS.

I'll be watching them get married on the 24th!

I'd add a few more minutes to the original 15 if I were you.

Angels? Or CBS making the finish a close one? There is no doubt that the plane went back to the gate because of CBS camera crews, probably last minute phone calls were made all through the American system stopping that plane.

CBS might not pick the winner, but they sure do manipulate the game. Hence, the police stops, flat tires, all at the most key moments of the game.......

The1calledTKE 05-11-2005 07:41 AM

Great ending!

mmcat 05-11-2005 08:01 AM

a well done episode

Sister Havana 05-11-2005 09:49 AM

A very satisfying ending this time, unlike last. Uchenna and Joyce totally deserved it. :)

you can't manipulate a flat tire.

I'm thrilled with the outcome. I'm so glad Uchenna and Joyce won. They truly played with spirit though the whole game, despite being accused of cheating at the end! They weren't. Begging isn't cheating. It says no where in AR's rules that you can't beg. How else do they expect you to earn cash quick?

anyways. I'm glad it was them and now they can go off and quietly try to have a baby or adopt one. I hope they go the adoption route and go back to that orphange in South Africa to find a child!

At least not without seriously endagering people in the car. I doubt anyone at CBS is that stupid -- I'm sure their lawyers will not let them be that stupid.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't hear J&U get accused of cheating. Ron and Kelly were, for asking the man at the hotel gate not to call a taxi for Romber.

As for the results:

YEA!!!!!!!!

valkyrie 05-11-2005 11:05 AM

I am SO GLAD Uchenna and Joyce won. They were the only team left that I actually liked.

I'm so glad I'll never have to hear or see Rombuhhhh again and I'm not going to miss RKelly's pissy arguing.

docetboy 05-11-2005 11:06 AM

From CNN.com....

Quote:

Uchenna, an energy broker who once worked for Enron, and Joyce, a sales manager who once worked for WorldCom, plan to use their earnings for "bills, bills, bills" and to take their family on their own amazing trip. The Agus, who've tried unsuccessfully to have a child in the past, also said they would use their $1 million prize toward a baby.

"My doctors offered us a free round of in vitro (fertilization)," said Joyce. "So after all this is over, if it doesn't work out, we have the money. We can adopt."

CutiePie2000 05-11-2005 11:38 AM

Now seeing that Uchenna and Joyce worked for 2 disaster companies, I am happy that they won.

Thought #1:
But...I wish TAR would "do away" with this practice of non-elimination rounds, where they take away your money. I really don't like the idea of North Americans "begging" for money, and relying on the kindness/generosity of strangers. We have so MUCH to be thankful for (clean water, shelter, safety more or less). I just think it's a bit sleazy to put the contestants who come from plenty, in that position. If the show HAS to confiscate their money, then set them up where they have to wash dishes or something and EARN the money back.
</rant>

Thought #2:
Since we just finished TAR #7, #8 is sure to follow. Maybe when they've done 11, they'll an ALL-STARS (a la Survivor) and have all the victors come back to compete against each other? How cool would THAT be?

hoosier 05-11-2005 12:47 PM

It's Amazing that they started the final round with no money, then had a flat tire, and still won.

They also need to thank the airline pilot who let them on after the door was closed - Amazing luck.

And coming soon, on CBS, the televised marriage of Rob and Amber. Guest list is sure to include their enemies from Survivor and TAR, so maybe there will be some fireworks.

Of course, I think most of these contestants are now reality show whores, who will go anywhere and do anything for a few more minutes on camera.

Sistermadly 05-11-2005 08:54 PM

Did you guys catch JoChenna on the Early Show this morning? Uchenna was teh hotness in that melon colored shirt. Joyce is one LUCKY woman. ;)

KDAngel 05-11-2005 09:49 PM

Good season. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
