Okay - so they were around what - 15 or more years ago? So if she just graduated from college, she's around 21-22. She would have been maybe 5 or 6 when they were out, so that's probably why she doesn't remember them.

My cousins, who graduated and is about to graduate from HS, remembers them and they were about 2-3 years old when Kris Kross was out.

I'm 22 and definitely remember playing Kriss Kross in my Walkman while doing chores.

Until Mother Infamous told me to stop "jump jumping" before she made it so I couldn't jump anymore...:o lol.

If she is 22 she would have been 7 or 8 b/c 'Jump Jump' was played at my brothers 1 birthday party and I was about to turn 8. I guess his party was off the chain.

BTW....his birthday is today.....he is 16:D!

Do ya'll remember "Pump it up Kris, I'm about to. Pump it up Kris, cause that's what I was born to do!"

Wrong CG. It's the annoying CG that doesn't know Kris Kross.

Too funny! Thanks - that's what I get for reading in bits and pieces and trying to post between students.

PrettyBoy 06-23-2007 01:40 AM

Here's my thing on Kris Kross. I hated them, and that whole sorry saggy ghetto backward pants wearing garbage. I didn't like it then, I don't like it now, and I'll dislike it in the future. I was just trippin' out that CG didn't know who they were, but then again it didn't surprise me that she didn't. Sheltered self.

CG, you didn't miss anything. Basically what they were, were two kids with dread locks jumping around like a couple of Bay Bay's kids who looked like they didn't have good home training. Anyway, people started trying to dress like them. I think that's where this whole saggy pants trash came from. Don't feel bad that you didn't know, I actually hate the fact that I do know who they are.

I never wore that trash, and I never will.

Your little lesson on Kris Kross.

LMAO! Uhh...thanks? :o

I just graduated from college and CLEARLY, I'm the one who brought it up. We definitely weren't 5, but I mean, come on!! They used to play "Jump, Jump" at the skating rink!! Tell me I'm not the only one who used to fall jumping up and down on roller blades!!! :D

No, I've never heard of Kriss Cross. It sounds like it would be fun music to listen to though.:p

Uhmm...thanks for the Kris Kross lesson, but I think I would rather see who they are for myself. You're much too judgemental for me to just agree with your post and run with it. I mean, you'll see the way one person looks, dresses, talks or whatever and then you'll place him/her in one category. C'mon PB, you have a category for everyone and you know it.

Hon, everyone is different in their own way, and just because someone dresses, talks, or looks a certain way or listens to certain music that doesn't meet PB's:rolleyes: approval, doesn't make him/her a bad person.

Anyway, hey guys I'm all ears and I would love to hear them.:p

CG they were around in the early 90s. If I were to listen to them today it would be out of nostalga (sp?). I think you and I are the same age (22) so we were in elementary school. I am not sure how old PB is but he may have been in middle school or HS at the time and we all know that elem school kids won't have the exact same feelings as kids who were almost in HS.

I definetly remember that song and I'm 18. My brother went and bought a shirt like them and I used to wear it in the house backwards...

I tried to listen to a sample on Amazon.com but it wouldn't let me.:(

It showed the CD cover though. It said something like crossed out with two kids on the front cover with their backs turned.

With the music and groups you listen to, I can just look at the front cover of the Kris Kross CD and see why they wouldn't be in your music collection, Mr. (boring) Smooth Jazz man.

So I see you tried to listen to those jokers huh?

With the music and groups you like, I KNOW FOR A FACT you wouldn't like Kris Kross.

My music? What? You've never even heard any of the artists that I listen to until you heard them for the 1st time through me. Dude, you said you like my music. You said it's romantic. You've never told me that you thought it was boring. You told me "Quality Time" sends chills down your spine. Your words CG, and you know you said it.

o.k. Yes, I like that song a lot, if we're talking about the same song. I don't have a problem with your music and I was JK when I said it was boring. Yes, I think it's very romantic but it's just that I think there's a...uhmm....ya know, a time and place for that.;)

You like to listen to it in the car. It's good music, but it makes it hard to drive because it's too relaxing. At least it is for me. I don't see how you do it.

No, dread locks aren't a bad thing. I was just describing to her the way Kris Kross looked. I don't have a problem with dread locks, I don't wear them, but I don't have a problem with them. What I do have a problem with is that same ghetto mentality of two jokers wearing their clothes backwards. I was always raised not to wear anything backwards including a baseball cap. My dad always told me people who wear hats like that are going in the same direction the hat is going. I move forward not backwards.

Very funny. HA......HA.

That whole video is utterly ridiculous. The same ol' Timberland boots with the tag on it still, the saggy pants, and the clothes turned backwards. That's so ghetto it's insane. If I ever have children and they come home looking like that, they won't get through the front door. There are also certain dread locks that are acceptible. Kris Kross dreads are not. One thing I've noticed about those ghettofied Timberland boots with the shoe laces untied is they're always clean. I've seen jokers wearing those things with their pants sagging, walking through slush and snow and the boots seem to some how stay looking brand new with the tag still on the side. Now jokers are starting to wear that 50 cent style baseball hat, with the extremely straight rim on it, and they have to turn it to the side too. When I see that I don't even look in their direction.

CG you know good and well you didn't think those two hood rats were cute. Girl, don't lie.

PrettyBoy 06-27-2007 11:03 AM

Since we're on a different subject now (music) lets list some of the artist and music we like. I'll go 1st.

I listen to some 80's, 70's and 60's.
Kenny G
Walter Beasly (my favorite jazz artist)
Najee
Some old school rap music like Kurtis Blow and the Sugar Hill Gang, artist like that. This new stuff is ghetto fabulous trash.
Kim Waters
Anita Baker
Sade
Basia
Michael Franks
Raggae (my favorite)
Craig T. Cooper ("Quality Time" favorite song my him)
I pretty much like everything except country and this new music that's out.

I wouldn't care if they were 5, to me they're still hood rats, and their parents should be ashamed of themselves for letting their sons look like a couple of idiots for the whole world to see. I don't care how serious they were, but one thing I do know is I didn't take them seriously. I wouldn't take a thug seriously.

That's cool, we can talk about the original topic, but I don't know what else there is to say about them, other than the fact that they're ghetto as hell.

You? invisible? C'mon, I would never see YOU as being invisible. Not christiangirl.:);)
