I actually think they look cute :) But then again, I am from the south and went to a southern university

I agree! Maybe it's because I'm used to seeing everyone in my community growing up dressed this way. It's the same thing as a bunch of guys from New Jersey wearing fitted hot pink shirts, gelling their hair, wearing man jewelry, designer jeans and shoes.

I've been wearing this type of stuff my entire life. I don't understand why most of you are so shocked people dress this way.

Let it go. If you like it, great. If not, don't fault others because it's something they've been around most of their lives.

P.S. Abercrombie models? If you're into fake looking people I guess they're great....

Sorry but no... I prefer good tasting beer, and favour the craft and micro-brews. As for a mark of taste... well lets just say what's in the bottle is more important than the label - you know quality over image... something pertinent to this thread.

shinerbock 07-08-2006 02:37 PM

Well the actual Tucker Carlson is pretty cool, except for the time he got outsmarted by Jon Stewart.

Why is it so hard for ya'll to believe that people dress this way? I don't think they do all the time.......but for events like the Carolina Cup, the Derby, etc. they absolutely do.

Tucker Carlson 07-10-2006 04:01 PM

This is why this board sucks, you delete everything.

Drolefille 07-10-2006 04:03 PM

Or because you guys devolved into a who is gayer fight.

macallan25 07-10-2006 04:26 PM

or because you are a Sci Fi addict and are involved in IT. You are about as fratty as a Michael Bolton concert.

Drolefille 07-10-2006 04:30 PM

And a girl, so I don't care about being "fratty"

And ew.. Michael Bolton?

I'll settle for being the hot IT chick. Anyway, I'm a psych major who's only doing IT work to pay for school.

shinerbock 07-10-2006 04:34 PM

No offense, but I'd stick with the IT. As someone who currently holds a worthless degree (poli sci), its grad school or nothing.

Drolefille 07-10-2006 04:36 PM

I'm paying for grad school. I'm going into counseling. The IT does pay the rent, but I'm not actually educated in it. I'm great on the user level, but though I'm trainable, I have little to no knowledge of programming, networking, etc.

macallan25 07-10-2006 05:08 PM

Yeah that was harsh of me. Being a hot IT chick would be fine.....allthough fratty chicks are sexy as hell.

look at those Northern Fraternity guys - hair gel, abercrombie, man jewelry, designer jeans. oh the horror

Ummmmmmmm, I don't see what's wrong with this. I'm not into men wearing jewlery of any kind, or too much hair gel, but I think most of those guys are cute. They're just wearing shirts and jeans, how else is a guy supposed to dress??

macallan25 07-10-2006 06:25 PM

Less gel, less muscle shirts, less vertical stripes, less dark probobly abercrombie jeans, less puka shell/leather string with attachment necklaces, less "shooting the deuce" hand gestures, less earring in ear.

Amen.

shinerbock 07-10-2006 07:02 PM

Yeah, that picture is horrible. Also, regarding the Counseling degree, thats what my sister does...She really enjoys it, but seeing as she tells me it is probably the most liberal department at any given school, I couldn't cut it.

I would love for those guys to do an interview with HaynesBoone.

shinerbock 07-10-2006 07:21 PM

Oh, I would love to see those guys TRY AND GET an interview with HaynesBoone, AlstonBird, Greenberg Traurig, (enter any other prestigious law firm here).

Has nothing to do with the politics of it for me. It's just what I want to do.

Those are prestigious law firms? They aren't Vault100.

These guys look just like my friends fraternity brothers. And the guy in the back with the blue eyes and pink popped collar fake and bakes more than I do.

shinerbock 07-11-2006 01:11 AM

Yes, all three are extremely prestigious law firms. Haynes Boone is a very good national/international firm out of Dallas I believe, Alston & Bird is 54th on the Vault list, one of the biggest firms in the U.S. and was ranked 9th in 2005 by Fortune's best places to work for. Greenberg Traurig is a top 10 law firm in size, and one of the best lobbying firms in the world. One of their ex-lawyers was in the news lately, Jack Abramoff, maybe you've heard of him.

Haynes and Boone is one of the fastest growing and up and coming firms in the US. Based out of Dallas. Very fratty. I'd say the top firm in Dallas and second in Texas behind Baker Botts out of Houston (also #43 I believe on the Vault).

Alston & Bird - Number 54 on the Vault List out of Atlanta
Greenberg Traurig - Number 77 on the Vault List out of Miami
